Another Vid Of Me :) You Know You Love Them
SQuiT-man replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Videos
I loved the intro to that vid, was excellent Ridings getting pretty damn good too! -
I aggree in the comment about there being the two ways of looking at it. Personally, I liked the vid, it was made lively and real by the editing and music, plus the moving camera angles that I liked. Definately not like one of those boring vids where the angle stays the same until each move is completed.

I agree with this ^^ . I swear a lot of our current records can be stretched quite a bit, especially highest bunnyhop, heighest hook (if you look at how heigh Benito was hooking in the koxxdays videos, im sure it was about 70" anyway, and he attempted one which I worked out to be around the 75" mark, but bailed). I think just fear of bailing badly really restricts how much we can do.
-
I think mine is 11,000 rpm, but I'd say use a slightly thinner dics (but not the ultra-thin ones, they dont work well for me!), as they dont round off so badly on the edges, and stay a bit sharper. Then perhaps try something like 8 or 9,000 rpm? Try it and see what works best for you, especially if you got an old rim kicking about somewhere!

^^ Whats with the anger??? Personally I thought was a cool little vid. Havent seen any vids of him sinc he was riding for monty, I didnt realise he had ever quit the team! I liked the hook bit on the rail, and also his backwheel to dropoff from that huge rail! It appears to be around 50 inches high.. pretty damned scary to do that on!
-
Im finding this pretty hard too, and Ive practiced it loads over time. I can wheelswap sometimes, but I cant see how people can do it on rails without going slightly to the side.
-
Wow, someone other than me made a positive comment about the toxsin! Yeh Im considering one cos I wouldnt mind a slightly stretched, even lower-standover monty 221-type geo bike, plus I like the look. So are there any pics of either fully built up (other than the ones for the Gu on their website)? What did the guy in NMC say about his?
-
So, anyone actually rode one yet? Im mostly interested in the Gu mod, but knowing about opinions on the RIDE of the toxsin mod would be pretty cool too. How does the gu compare to a python CLS or zona zip for all the different moves-what is it better/worse at? Cheers, Scott

I got a black ipod video for xmas, its awesome, despite for some reason everyone lately seeming to follow a trend of "ipods r shit"! Jesus, someones a bit rich! Lucky u lol
-
In my opinion there it doesnt matter so much about the changes in mods than stocks. An 02 monty hasnt really changed THAT much in geometry, and I'm sure they would be awesome fun to ride. I just think that if you were buying a stock, a stock from 02 would have a really low BB, and things like that which personally I found to hinder me (maybe because I'm not that tall, so every cm of extra cockpit space/room to move around the tyres really makes a difference, hence why I like BB rise), although to be honest even some of those I bet would be great fun to ride, like a pace trials bike. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm paceeeeee *begins to dribble*
-
Dont you mean every year? Its new years ffs! And its a bit sad how u r on here on xmas day... even though I am also but only to check there's no trials companies drunk on xmas day giving away free gear on t-f!
-
Lol, how come this thread was so randomly bumped up from ages ago? What made you want to go back to it and ask Onzamark what he meant by it "sitting on the backwheel well"?
-
On my computer, this is only working as a "text document", and cant be viewed as a video...?
-
Am I the only one who thought Creepy Crawlers had pretty shit pinch protection? In the end I ended up going back to monty tyres, less grip but much better pinch protection IMO.
-
I would guess an 03 aswell, its an awesome bike.
-
I do loads of front hops, and the odd hook here and there, aslong as you have short forks (e.g. either on a mod, or short stock forks, so there is less leverage), and they are a strong pair, you should be fine to learn with them. Just dont fronthop too agressively! The way I found helped a lot while learning, is to TRY to fall over the bars when you do some fronthops. This'll "guts you up" and make you feel more confident/less scared of falling over the front, which is what the trick is about really. Just dont be scared of falling over the front, find that balance point! Even if you do find it, you might not be able to do many at first due to how tiring it is, but dont worry, after a while the right muscles develop and then it isnt tiring at all!

I could never get to grips with this game either. I prefer elastomania, more comical. Ive heard a new version of elastomania has been announced to be released soewhen, menna be much more modern

Lmao, that vid was hilarious how you edited the slipping sounds almost end-to-end so it was a whole video of slipping, and the final quote. Its amasing how much bigger things look in real life though, that rock looks huge in comparaison in real life.. Im with the el gatos being pretty good tyres though, although you do run them a little high, but its true that making it harder only makes you a better rider If you had ultra-sharp, rock-surface-piercing spikes on your tyres, you wouldda made that first time no problems. but what would be the point?
-
Well done nadine. Thats the best riding ive ever seen from a girl, and its great to see girls taking the sport a bit more seriously to learn proper trials.
-
So whats the chainstay length?
-
Why shouldn't it? Ti is sooo strong. Infact, say aluminium was this strong: <--------> and steel this strong: <-------------> Ti would be this strong: <----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> A well designed ti frame should be able to handle anything in the trials-world. 3.5lbs is pretty light though...
-
Awesome vid, very stylish, and Im lovin' the fact his riding is a bit different, and not long-bike esque.
-
The bottom bracket will be lower (closer to the floor), which might not be desireable effect. But if you're riding a norco, I guess you're doing proper streety trials anyway?
