I dont see why not, other than that you might have to get a new chain, although you may well be able to get away with your current one, and have short chainstays.
-
All I remember from the last one was that there was two boxes that two people were doing turning backhops on around and around in circles, think one was on a mod and perhaps the other on a stock..?
-
Well I say nicely done to Ashy, Danny and Ben, I wudda been shitting myself infront of those cameras, but its all very good publicity to our sport! (Y) Well done :D

Its 95% technique, sidehopping. BB rise helps get a bit higher, but the length of the bike itself doesnt effect it majorly- there are short bikes that sidehop very well, and there are long bikes that sidehop very well (e.g. in mods, the Monty 221 compared with zoo python!). In stocks, one of the main factors that I think limits sidehoppoing is the back wheel restricting your movement to compress enough to lift the bike up that bit higher, which is why BB rise helps, and when you get used to the feel, a bike such as a toxsin might help you sidehop that bit higher.

Your all a bunch of cocks, stop having a go at him! The vid was fine, and I thought the music was actually ok, even though Im normally a metalhead. People need to broaden their horizons on musical taste- just relax when you hear other music and get into it, its usually easy to see why other people would like it! Shame the trials world may be loosing some more fairly good riders, but good luck with whatever other hobbies you decide to take up

So were they today, or are they going to be on tomorrow? If it was today, will there be a repeat?

Ive got a non-disk 120, its a durable, lightweight, smooth and cheap hub (N)
-
I did have 25 Gb+ of trials vids, but my harddrive got filled up, so I deleted most of it, and now its started to build up again- i got 16.8 Gb still.

(N) Those frames are ammmmmassssing for stock, aslong as they are cheap. If zona change their graphics into something a bit easier on the eye, and keep releasing stock and more mod frames (dont stop with the zip, keep producing more!), they will have definately become my fave brand. Awesome quality and value! Sure to be a hit!

Pretty good, loving the new front wheel spinney move! I wanna see someone branch out into learning stuff like that on a trials bike.
-
Nah theres no point in tapping a 221, I learnt to tap on mine, but it just didnt help me get any higher at all, its so short. Just learn to backwheel higher. Ive just bought a zona zip though, should be easier to tap as it is so much longer, so hopefully they might come in useful :bunny:

Lol, i wanna see these pics now too :S Put them back up mate!

My mum was just outside my room..

Id say that sounds good geometry- not too long, but probably good for power moves. Sorta like a monty 221 with slightly more reach, which is the one thing I think could be improved on a monty  55mm BB rise seems common now on mods, so 60 should be fine. BB rise has the advantage of giving you more space to "tuck" the bike up towards you in the air, before the backwheel hits you in the crutch! lol. This means you can go bigger, it also inspires more confidence when "upping", as you are higher up, so things seem smaller in perspective. 370mm stays seem good- IMO 362/3mm stays which are on a lot of bikes such as the koxx levelboss, echo team, etc, are a bit too short and seem to slightly limit the power you can but through the bike as it feels like the bike "loops out" from underneath you too fast before you can put all your power down. My monty 221 had 373mm stays to give you an idea, I found this was great. 1015 wheelbase isnt too long, but plenty long enough to give good leverage over the 370mm chainstays so the bike feels lightish on the backwheel, and gives enough reach, yet is still flickable. How are you going to make a frame though? They are pretty hard to make- are you getting a proffessional frame builder to do it for you? Scott

Ive got one of these: http://www.cycles-simtra.com/images/prod_pxmodsaddles.jpg Its the one with the woman one on the top- it looks really cool but wouldnt fit my bike's huge seatpost diameter, add me to msn in you are interested squit007@msn.com

Think they are something like 19lbs, mine was 19 1/2 but I specced it non-standardly. Ive heard bad things about the monty freewheels themselves, although I have never used one myself so cant say much. A few pro monty riders eem to be running Enos instead from what I have seen. Dunno about the chain, spokes, etc. On my 221 ti, I used an onza bashplate, and so Just used a bolt off my old t-pro to go into the downtube, dont think it had a rubber washer, but I didnt have any problems at all, just mae sure you have some kind of rubber shock absorber pinched between the frame and bash.

Im totally shocked, thats really appawling that a guy could be this serious in taking from a charity like this that obviously means a lot to a lot of people, who have put a LOT of work in. All I can say is to hope that the council realise what is happening here, and are reasonable. Scott P.s. The idea about getting it printed in the Echo is good, could potentially be a good source of suport from the public.

"Thats a goood technical moove!" lol Great video, makes me miss the trialskings and REAL riding style even more

Just looked on the site and saw the mod frame- Ive never seen that one before, cant help I'm afriad.

Avid SD7s, and you can upgrade parts later such as pads, cable, etc. for a full set, I think it would set you back a little under £70 if you look around

This man knows where its at (Y) boyzone arent bad too, worth a mention.
-
I agree with Aust, sounds like great publicity for our sport, and great that another big company is starting to broaden their sights into the trials world too, although no doubt they will end up coming out with a very streety bike (Chris Akrigg's mongoose "trials" bike comes to mind), with longer stays than most of us would want in a trials rig, but oh well.

Depends what diameter carrot or cucumber you buy, where you buy it from and how old it is, but I'd say the cucumbers stiffer, especially if u freeze it (Y)
-
They arent that bad, a lot stronger than what people think and say. They are plenty stiff enough, and most 04s that I have seen cracked have cracked for a reason, e.g. running a profile with snail cams on the inside aswell (adds a few extra mm's of chainstay bendage), and/or abuse. Very few 05s have cracked really, I have only heard of a couple.
-
I snapped my 04 (I think its an 04 anyway- it doesnt have disk tabs) and I was using a profile, as was bongo before me. I think you should be ok as long as you dont put extra spacers on the inside of the chainstays (such as the ones that come with a profile), or accidentally physically stretch the chainstays out too much while fitting your wheel (Y)
