  1. Can't believe this video is 3 years old! Blood hell where's the time gone
  2. Done! Amateur film making definitely has a place within the professional field. If you look at sites like GRMDaily (Grime/dubstep/urban music site) and other websites which push peoples music videos/films, a lot of that stuff is really low budget, made with mates material that has been produced, filmed and edited by a small group of people with little to no knowledge of making videos besides what they've seen online. Amateur films that are entered into film festivals or posted online can also lead to job interviews and networking opportunities if the right people see them. A friend of mine got a job at The Mill which is a big post house in London by being really cheeky and ringing them to try and get a free colour grade on some 16mm film he'd used for a uni project, They didn't grade his film but they gave him a runner job instead!
  3. Ahh I forgot about HD25's! We used to use them at uni for monitoring/editing sound in films. Beast headphones cheers for that!
  4. My brother stepped on his headphones (Kam KHP1500 PRO) a while back and smashed them up so my parents want to buy him some new ones for Christmas and give him a bit of an upgrade. Budget is £100-£150 tops. Obviously I don't want to ask him about them 'cause its supposed to be a surprise and this close to Christmas he'd guess what we were up to and I know there are a couple of DJ's on here so I thought you could maybe point me in the right direction. My first thought was to look at Pioneer headphone's cause I know they make the best CDJ's but then theres also Sennheiser who i've always loved for headphones, then Bose, Marshell etc. http://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/Pioneer-HDJ-1500-Professional-DJ-Headphones-Black/JYI - I've seen these that look cool, and the tech spec sounds good (from my very limited knowledge of what is good.) and they're in budget. Can anyone suggest any other decent headphones to look at, brands to avoid etc cheers for any help
  5. Man watching them bought back some good memories
  6. hahaha nearly died laughing at that!
  7. To me, trials has always been about going out and having fun whilst pushing yourself to try new things. Doesn't matter how you do it. And i've never really understood why people get so butt hurt about what 'street' riders are doing because when I started (2003) thats how everyone was doing it! We used to spend hours watching the trials kings videos then going out and nearly killing ourselves trying to do X-ups and stuff like that. Theres a fine line between making a video thats really creative and pushing street trials in the right direction and just doing BMX and calling it trials 'cause you're on a trials bike. The people doing it right for me are Joe Maher, TRA, Rowan, Flipp and Ali. Never been disappointed with anything they've made and theres always something really quirky in their videos that no one else is doing.
  8. Could have done with an atmos track running under the intro to cover the jumps in sound but other than that it was spot on. Creative and oozing with a very individual style and approach to riding.
  9. Just a couple of mods I did when I used to collect (sorry they're not embedded I couldn't remember how to do it...) http://www.flickr.co...N06/8023834315/ Quad bike made from two motorbikes. http://www.flickr.co...N06/8023838964/ Tyranid tamer. http://www.flickr.co...N06/8023836090/ Modded Ork Trukk with spiked roller and flame thrower turret. http://www.flickr.co...N06/8023830146/ Not modded but IMO one of my best paint jobs

    Ali's Getaway

Looks really nice. Your next challenge is shoot some 16mm stuff!
  11. Yeah i'll be getting Reason soon through a mate. Just playing with this to get started.
  12. Hi guys, I downloaded FL Studio mobile for my iPad the other day to start learning how to make bits of music. Just wondering if anyone with a bit of musical experience on here can recommend some good online tutorials/videos on making simple rhythms and stuff so I can learn how to do things properly rather than just bashing buttons. Cheers for any advice.
  13. Shirtless guy who was drunk, was basically using random peoples boards to play with his daughter and going ape shit at anyone who skated/rode anywhere near them. He ended up getting really mouthy and the skaters sent him on his way, when he walked off one of the skaters chucked a bottle of water at him and then it escalated to that big fight. Theres another video somewhere without bits cut out.
  14. I'd wait for it just to see what it's like. BIG rumours are that Apple will reveal it on September 12th along with the iPad mini, been seeing that date on rumour sites for a while now. The problem with the iPhone now is that its had its time as the 'best by a long way' smartphone and a lot of other companies have caught up and are offering decent phones for a lot less money. I've just finished a 24 month contract on an iPhone4 paying £35 a month, then £15 a month to insure it and definitely don't want to be stuck with another contract like that now that i've finished uni and actually need my wages the insurance also jumped to £15 from like £6 a month when I traded up from the iPhone3G so I dread to think what the jump up will be when the 5 comes out. o2 were also offering the exact same contract that i'm on for £15 on their sim only simplicity plan not long ago which was pretty irritating because i've been paying more than double that for the last two years. IMO if you've got the money to splash out on an iPhone, 1000% buy the phone outright and then get a sim only contract. Also, its becoming more of a fact than a rumour now that Apple are going to ditch the current iphone/ipad/ipod charger socket and bring out a new smaller one with the iphone5 so buying an older phone will make it a bit harder to get spare chargers and accessories.
  15. He's 12. His little brother rides with him too (he's 9) and he's pretty good for his age as well. Was ace talking to him on Saturday he's got a really good attitude towards riding, Really laid back and has fun which is good to see. Some of the stuff in that video is a lot bigger and more tech in real life too. Nuts to see someone his size just doing it like its nothing lol
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9001509/Anthony-Worrall-Thompson-cautioned-over-cheese-and-wine-theft.html That Tarty Adam guy's also been caught nicking cheese and wine from Tesco. Seems like a pretty sketchy guy probably shouldn't buy stuff off him in future
  17. [media=] Not the worst but it still f*****g hurt lol luckily landed on my gooch rather than popping a ball
  18. I'm not going but if you got the train to Brentwood station (Go from Liverpool Street) it wouldn't be much arse for someone to pick you up from there.
  19. Not that bad!?! When I left there last weekend my legs looked like a gremlin after you pour water on it 'cause of those little b*****ds lol
  20. Ahhhhhhhh gay! Oh well i'll still check it out i've found some nice stuff around Southwark to ride if its a complete fail, thanks guys.

    Alpha

Yeah our Plaza's been there for about 6 years now and all they've added is a Jersy bank? at the bottom, had loads of professional BMX teams ride there over the years though which was super cool! Its been in RideUK a few times and Etnies have run skate jams there as well. Pretty sure a few people off here have been there as part of the 24 tour.
  23. Thought it might be useful to start a thread where people can post screen grabs/photos of riding spots they've seen on web edits/non-trials videos but can't find, then if you know where it is, help out and reply with a google maps link/postcode etc to help lost riders find their way! I'll start it off... I know its in London, 99% sure its somewhere near the eye but I can't bloody find it!
