  1. Whack a bashring on there, that'll sort it. Not had my trousers caught on a chainring for well over 2 years now.
  2. If its two weeks old, short of living in scotland and trying to outride mud-landslides before you go riding i can't see how it'd be dirty enough to warrant a chain cleaning tool on it. Just wipe it with a rag, and leave it.
  3. Thats your problem, you putting a load of lube on there and it attracts the dirt then gets wiped off on your trousers. Wipe your chain with a clean rag... just hold the rag on the chain while rotating the pedal with your hand and then leave it. No more crappy trousers.
  4. Ermm, isn't the bleed srew on the front of the lever? In what looks like the easiest place to reach.
  5. Theres no point, he only made 8 posts on the fourm, the majority in this thread. He has since left the forum and this topic is around 6 months old. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY PICTURES
  6. I'm the same, not gone riding since just before december, and even then i didn't really ride due to a dodgy back brake. I guess when it stops raining at some point this week i'll stop doing uni work and get some riding done. People are generally more depressed in winter, depression makes you unenthusiastic, hence no riding will.
  7. Kinda hypocritical. It wasn't just you that kiled the 06 rims, they were weak, everyone killed them. The 07's have been improved on significantly and everyone has said how much stronger they are. Try-alls are crap, don't get one if you ride like you say you do, it'll last 2 weeks. And i was under the belief that 4X with as many spokes as you can get will be the strongest option.
  8. I ordered a mini seat from them, money withdrawn within an hour from my account, seat took a week and a half (working days) not the 3-5 days they said. I did get it though and they sent the right one so it wasn't too bad. I guess it just took him like 4 days to get round to posting it.
  9. Ah, if its winter there i'm sure you'll find the dual discs to be very good indeed, seeing as how they perform better in wet conditions than rim brakes. Yeah, it won't be anywhere near 18kg, i would imagine it to be around half that. Remember to post up some pics of it when you get it and if you have any troubles with it or with riding in general don't hesitate to ask on here, you'll usually get a decent and accurate reply. Trashzen as recommended by darrenhopper and many others is one of the best and most accurate instructional guides available with many hours and a lot of effort going into making it. Only real tip i can give is go out, have fun and don't get frustrated if you don't seem able to do everything straight away. Trials takes a lot more time to get the hang of compared to other biking disciplines but you'll get the hang of it with a little determination.
  10. Okay, small wheels (bmx size of 20") is called a MOD bike. Large wheels (normal mountain bike 26") is called a stock. Loads of people use loads of different versions of each, echo, giant, onza, zoo!... etc I would say the split between people riding mod and people riding stock has got to be somewhere around 50:50, and yes, many people start out on mod bikes as they are generally smaller, lighter and easier to through around, hence them being better to start on. It roughly depends on your size though and what you feel most comfortable with. I'm 6'5" and find mod bikes fun for having a quick go but i couldn't ride one for a long time, and short people are the same with most stock bikes. Have a go, see if you like it. Also see if the shop can order parts in, and see what sort of things are avalable to you for upgrades. So long as the bike has good brakes and a reliable freehub/freewheel then you'll be alright. If this is the one your on about it looks pretty damn good for a beginner depending on what the freewheel is. But theres no doubt about those discs being able to stop you in a hurry, very good brakes. p.s. your english is better than most englich new members, i'm impressed
  11. Dunno if you've left the forum or even sorted it but downloading the All-in-one codec pack should sort it, fixed every one of my video problems when i had them a while back. Its on something like allcodecs.com or something but google it and you'll find it easy enough.

    Broadband

Ha ha... there has to be one broadband provider out there good enough for us. Wonder how hard it is to make our own company ?

    Broadband

Oh, hope it doesn't get too bad That review was made before fast 4 split from their partner company called v21 or something to that effect who were supplying the broadband to them while they sold it on. It was this v21 company that was in the shit and subsequently f***** its members. However, fast4 have split from them in november 2006 and are now their own company with different lines. Dunno how they are doing now then... go on.... try em out

    Broadband

Actually... AOL have introduced a fair user policy during peak hours same as tiscali. It WAS unlimited I say try out fast4... if thir shit, least you'll know and i can avoid them Funny thing is though, my internet is super fast and msn stays online all the time (no more midnight disconnects ), plus downloads are actually running a bit faster than they should be. 2mb line and downloading at 350kb/s not bad at all. Now i don't have to worry about leaving things downloading in the evenings now as well T-f sometimes gays up though and takes like 6 seconds to load, but i'm just gonna blame the t-f server on that one
  15. I would be the same as well, its nothing personal but if he's willing to split the cost he's more than welcome. Maybe tell him he can have a few tracks, but he'll have to see which ones he likes first. Or ask him if theres something in particular he wants. If you do give him all your music he'll be overloaded with it and won't know where to start listening.... you can even tell him that. If i had even over 200 songs given to me i wouldn't know which ones to listen to first and would want to skip to the next one to see what that ones like.... effectively missing what could make the song great in the last minute or so. Is he new to it or not? If he is tell him he can have like 20 songs because it'll be in his favour to have fewer songs but learn how they go so he can mix them better.
  16. Ha ha, yeah... i'm looking forward to it. I think some of the CG looks a bit cheesy but if the story matches up, and the acting (mr cage is usually pretty decent) then i can forgive the blatantly fake looking CG.
  17. If i was to briefly summarise how i see other people ride the two, i would say zonas are fun, silly, mess around hopping everywhere kind of bikes (think exagerated hops and large bunnyhops etc)... while the adamnt is a more calcualted style of bike.... little hops, then massive big gaps, then little hops again.
  18. Ha ha, northern? try east midlands mate... nearly smack bang in the middle of england. And you said i know it all And as for me knowing it all, ha ha... **** that for a laugh. In the grand scheme of things i know absolutely nothing, and i freely admit that... however, i would be fairly willing to bet i know more than you Completely agree with simon on pretty much everything. You say we don't have broad enough views when you clearly aren't willing to accept your "idea" isn't practical, responsible or something that can be properly implemented without more problems than the way it currently is. You've had these points highlighted to you and now you don't like it. And try not to get so worked up.... its only an internet forum Whether you stay or go is your own choice, someday you'll see how immature you seemed throughout this whole thing though. And if you change your mind about leaving here... your more than welcome to come back .
  19. Then he should use the F#*£@^! spell check button.... jesus christ, hardly rocket science. You make up this thread twice (spamming by the way ) and you come on here with your bordering condescending views and pre-defined judgements of other members based on what they're saying, pretty hipocritical if you ask me. If someone makes a topic with a complete disregard for making it comprehensive then they can pretty much assume people are going to give the same level of disregard to answering the question. There's an old saying... Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. EDIT: Just realised the spell check buttons gone, anyone shed any light on where it is?
  20. I've ridden the bike just a mere few days ago.... however, i've not gone riding in around 3-4 weeks. No real reason as to why, just havn't had the time/enthusiasm.
  21. Or.... we could have a picture of the spell checker in the guidelines Not being able to spell is one thing, not having the common sense to click a button and pick the word you meant is another. If your mate can't spell its not that important, we have members from poland russia and all kinds of places who all spell well so just basic knowledge of the english grammar is needed (not a uni degree as you put it).
  22. I think the majority of pro or famous riders are instantly seen as having important or contributing abilties for the forum. Take mr ashton for example. I'm pretty sure he was made a member almost instantly. why? Because despite the fact he doesn't come on here much, if he ever does it'll be to let people know about something that is important and subsequently being stuck in NMC isn't going to be helpful... besides, anyone can make up a username of mr ashton, having him as a full member helps add a bit more of a professional feel to it. Would you buy products from someone who's still stuck in NMC purely for the reason they don't post often? I like having NMC, its like a pub... keeps most of the runts outtill they can behave and not irritate other people (obviously p***** little kids would irritate highly)
  23. I go uni there, as well as spacemunkee, petrum, nozmeister and ben. Ben lee lives nearby in shepshed, boumsong lives 15-20 minutes away in prestwold and the leicester lads come up sometimes too. And nicky'll whinge if i don't mention him in this list... he lives in notts though Hubs are fine, hs33's are fine, tyres'll be fine (though maxxis are recommended by many)... maybe just a new frame and forks... maybe a new rear rim. I'd definately say second hand too, so long as theres no cracks and the threads are fine the frame should be fine. No doubt we'll all be riding there fairly soon, add me to msn and when we do i'll let you know and you can come along and try out all the different bikes. Theres low, medium and hi bb's now and they all feel truly different. You'll have plenty of variety to help your choices.
  24. You need to mention what kit your using and what import settings your using. For a mini DV cam you need to have it in PAL standard and then as a "microsoft DV AVI" (should be uncompressed footage.... about 3-4mb/sec). Try and de-interlace it too, andmake sure its set to the correct framerate of your camera. For footage off a digital camera use movie maker... premiere is overkill for such low grade footage.
  25. Never see the woodmans then, or even the woodman spec T-Rex? They both had rear king hubs on EDIT: Someone didn't read the thread :$ .... my bad
