  1. He's not gonna go get it looked at. He's had it for weeks already
  2. That's it. Sorry about the close crop, the full scale shot involved nudity, acts of a sexual nature and dwarves.
  3. I think the point might have been that in the next year or so the kid may well be pretty tall. At his age i was a similar size and by 14 i was 6'3". In fairness though, even if he does become a tall one the mod will probably suit him until he's either gotten bored of it or into it enough to want something more advanced.
  4. Yeah, got frogspawn, hammer, toadstool, candy canes, mushrooms, ricordias, gonoporia, duncan and loads of pulsing xenia...
  5. £25, just hard to keep alive. I appear to be lucky as mine was eating frozen food from the shop so he's a little piggywig now.
  6. Same, as well as a cleaner shrimp, harlequin shrimp some clownfish (little bastards) mr super goby and the coolest fish in the world.... Meet Mr Mandarin!
  7. I'd just like to echo this and add that because i'm not used to drinking enough water normally, the added water intake meant i was going for a piss way to many times in the day. It just wasn't convenient or practical. I also found if i didn't drink enough water i would get a build up of lactic acid quicker, which in laymans terms meant that 30 minutes into a trials session i was getting cramps in my biceps and shoulders and it was just generally a pain in the back side. On a plus note i had the holland and barrett own brand one in grapefruit which when mixed with summer fruits squash made for a delicious drink!
  8. The bank have to prove that the charges are fair. Before the court hearing it was the other way around, the onus was on the account holder to prove that the charges were unfair. Go in and speak to your branch manager. Ask them how they justify such high charges for such a small amount and ask for a copy of that justification in writing. Tell them you want the charges reversed, if it's the first time this has happened you could try the "good faith" card.
  9. Shakes are a supplement, as in they add a little extra protein to your already protein rich diet. I like mint chocolate pharma whey, heard myprotein is pretty good too. Just nip into your local elf foods or holland and barrett and see which is on buy one get one free. Protein and vitamin C are required to help repair muscle tissue, so yes a couple of small shakes and some fruit/juice will help repait muscles. As will sleep and not over-training. You want to properly train 2-3 muscle groups in one session and leave 7 days before doing that set of muscles again. Don't go everyday, you never give your body chance to drop cortisol levels and so you'll either plataeu or decline in strength/size. Cortisol also sppresses your immune system and can cause depression and mood swings. Legs, back, shoulders, biceps, triceps, forearms, chest and core are the main areas to train. Train for 1-2 hours, testosterone peaks at around 60 minutes and declines rapidly after that so 3-4 hour sessions are pointless. Get 7-8 hours decent sleep a night and you'll repair tissue faster than 4-5 hours of interrupted sleep. Also, give yourself some rest. At the very least have a day of rest in between each gym session. Also, some slight stiffness is good. The saying no pain, no gain has a point. If you've got DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) then you've hopefully been training your muscles hard enough. I tend to find if i've done my workout properly then my muscle group (biceps for example) will be fatigued the next day, sore for the 2-4th days and should be fine after that. If i relax my diet and have pizza with no protein on the side it can be up to 7 days for the soreness to disspate from a properly worked out muscle.
  10. Simply, Yes. Not so simply, without working out in previous winters i noticed that come spring i had to get my body to readjust to moving the trials bike around again. At the very least doing pushups, chinups and a few squats every week kept me at the same level last year, where as this winter i'll be going for full on size/strength gaining over winter so hopefully i'll be seeing a marked improvement next spring.
  11. If you plug a computer in via HDMI using the same settings and wiggle the mouse around input lag will present as the mouse moving around the screen slower than you're moving the mouse by hand. Similar to playing a pc game with the graphics settings way higher than the graphics card can do. What is the model number for your tv mate?
  12. Minions aren't very nice as a front tyre anyway, they wash out easier on corners than the high rollers.
  13. Likewise mate, Just backing up what your saying from a technical POV. 60fps content requires a 1000/60 (16.7)ms response time. 120Hz content requires 8.35ms. Once you are below 8 there is no content from video sources that would be beyond the refresh capabilities of the panel. I'm essentially saying the same thing as you just in a rather long winded way. I'm still not sure why tomm is convinced his K:D ratio went down due to screen response time, i'd imagine that input lag would be the thing that threw him off. Generally speaking computer monitors don't process the image as this is done by the graphics card, so the input lag is virtually non existant. A TV on the other hand is primarily designed to process a signal from a receiver so input lag is higher by comparison. Especially with dynamic contrast, superdeuperhz modes and enhanced colour options switched on.
  14. With todays modern sets it is unlikely you will ever experience image lag due to slow LCD response times with the latest 60Hz HDTVs. 120Hz and 240Hz operation carry a number of benefits but these have nothing to do with image lag due to a slower pixel response time. Even the slowest response times of todays modern sets are around the 4-6ms mark, which only a few years ago was deemed the height of pc-gaming tech. Aspect ratios though Luke are very much an industry standard lacking in confusion. They are what they say they are. Contrast ratios on the other hand...
  15. See most older lcd tv's were at around 12-16ms when flatscreens first came out into the mainstream however Sony's current LCD XBR and Bravia lines have listed response times of 4 milliseconds. To be honest though most tv's nowadays will be around the same sort of speed in terms of response time. Samsung should be the same as sony because sony actually get their lcd panels from the samsung factory The biggest killer for console gaming with tv's is input lag. However switching most of the added processing features off will drop that right down. Samsung have a "game mode" where most features are switched off. This drops the input lag from around 120ms to about 14.
  16. Really? Most of the sony tv's have the lowest response times around. LED aren't a better picture, the panels themselves are the same as the LCD screens, it's just the backlighting system that is different and allows the tv to have a smaller frame/depth. As with all tv's, switch off image processing features, dynamic colours and dynamic contrast as well as any simulated 100-150-200hz rubbish. these feeatures make the tv respond slower when gaming. turning them off will get most half decent tv's down to about 15-20ms which is pretty damn acceptable for console stuff. I quite like samsung kit, lg are pretty good too.
  17. Okay mr happy pants. Most older people go out dressed up smart or sexily. Halloween is an excuse to go that one step further for FUN. It's fun seeing people being creative, it's fun talking to people about their costume and it's fun having people like yours. It's just a fun break from the norm for 90% of people.

    Bulking Up

Before you go to sleep, although if you're worried about being up all night going for a piss then make it a stronger concentrate, using only half the milk/water you normally would do.

    Bulking Up

I'm sorry but that is a load of bull. You do realise both arnie and reg park used to do a 5 x 5 routine at different stages of their powerlifting careers don't you? If it's not working for them i'll happily have it not work for me too. Also training to failure is both unnecessary and sometimes dangerous. There is some good advice in here and some not so great advice. JD and Fishy are pretty much on the money, though i'd add that if you're looking at gaining some strength and mass fast whilst losing a bit of belly weight then you need to train with heavier weights and change your diet. I've no idea what it is at the minute but i can't imagine it'll be on the money for what you need. Sleep is important as well. If you're serious about getting this to work you need a decent nights sleep. EVERY NIGHT. Try to get 7-8 hours sleep and you'll reap the benefits. Also regarding protein intake it's largely accepted that the body can only use a small amount of protein within a certain time frame and every bit of excess is excreted from the body, for the best muscle repair a constant supply of small amounts is required throughout the day. Your diet should be comprised of 20% to 30% protein. That roughly translates to .8 to 1.3 grams of protein per pound of body weight. If you weight 145 pounds, your daily protein intake should be anywhere from 102 grams to 189 grams of protein per day. It's well advised to split this up over 6 or so meals per day. A perfect example would be. Weight Lifting Days Meal one - Healthy, high fiber cereal then multi-vitamin/mineral Meal two - Trioplex Bar and orange or grapefriut Meal three - lean meat (chicken, tuna, turkey, or turkey burger) and green veggies or green salad and complex carb (two slices whole grain bread, sweet potato, or brown rice) Meal four - handful of raw almonds and an apple or pear Meal five - (dinner) lean white meat or fish (not fried) w/green veggies or green salad Meal six - Protein Diet Bar Non-Weight Lifting Days Meal one - oatmeal w/a little honey and three egg whites then multi-vitamin/mineral Meal two - Protein Diet Bar and apple or pear Meal three - lean meat (chicken, tuna, or turkey) and green veggies or green salad Meal four - handful of raw almonds Meal five - (dinner) lean white meat or fish (not fried) w/green veggies or green salad Meal six - Protein Diet Bar Vitamin C is also required to help repair muscle tissue. Notice how much fruit is included in those examples? That's because you need it, so get a tub of whey, go to tescos and buy chicken, tuna and a load of fruit and fruit juices. Aldi is great for buying cheap packs of chicken and home bargains sells 4 packs of princes tuna for around £2.50 (same thing is £6 something in morrisons). Now all of that is out the way, the actual weights. Have a read of this post here... Work out what you want and go and grab a huge weight that you can only just do one rep with. This is your maximum limit for that particular exercise. Compare that to the muscle types you want from the post in the other thread to use the correct % of your 1 rep weight and your set to go. I've waffled enough and you should have enough now to get you started happily.
  20. I've never watched sprung though so may have to try hunting it down later. Cheers dude.
  21. See, that's why i liked the first one i linked to. If you ignore all the advertising, the song and the intro make it feel very much like a group of mates meeting up for a bit of a session.
  22. Saw this earlier, thought i'd share. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/222841 EDIT: Found this one too and rather enjoyed it. Matt brooks in a lonewolf productions vid. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/221404/

    Films!?

It's because human beings latch onto repetition for security. Children moreso than adults. So the easist way to hold a childs attention is to break the film up into sections of song so they will watch it a couple of times and love it, rather than a more adult film where the story is mostly plotline and social-interaction based.
  24. Pretty much echoes what i said here, though it's nice to see just how close the midrange brakes are in terms of performance. Where abouts did you find this?
  25. I'm running one of the hayes style large hole rotors with my shimano front disc and have found it tends to make a buzzing noise now. Reae that some shimano pads get snagged on larger holes and it can pull chunks off the leading edge, resulting in a buzzing sensation during use. Reckon i'll change my rotor to a superstar floating of some description.
