  1. ahhh sorry i get you, well still you will need to replace it, or use the chain until it wears in, its not uncommon for a drivetrain made of different age components (or new even) to skip alot until they have settled in if you really need to ride, i can only suggest gettin an old casette and stealing another sprocket for now i found with my rear 14t it skipped a little until i had used it for a few rides, bloody annoying though
  2. if the rears worn, then replace it.......makes sense surely?
  3. could run a slightly thicker tube, panaracer do a 'supertube' which is a tad thicker than standard, but not uber beefcake like the dh ones thing is, pinching the front is pretty hard in my experience, unless you hit something very pointy like a sack of shite but that may just be me
  4. thats a jolly good point mat old boy, what a spiffing suggestion although im a little sceptical about them after using the onza/mission jobbies that were available-they just werent in the right position
  5. i love that frame, but theres 1 thing putting me off.........i want v brake mounts any chance of being able to get in a v brake model? cos theres no way i'm running a magura anyone want to buy my base?
  6. harsh? how, viz/koxx/hogs rims are a tad soft maybe that should of been taken as a bit of a joke, perhaps try laughing
  7. in my experience, gothich rotors=look super, work shite
  8. cannondale fattys, identiti tuning forks, and various sus forks on my other bikes
  9. hmmm, if you cant find the proper 1, i could send you a selection of what i have and you can see if they fit?
  10. do you know what size thread it is ali? i may just have something that'll fit from my collection of motorbikes and spares
  11. has anybody noticed how the izzy one has an incredibly nice rack? im glad they are getting rid of the old characters, we need more fitties
  12. you wont regret that i have that setup on a few of my bikes whilst you at it, get a linear slick/nokon cable and some plaz crv pads and you will be laughing
  13. ill be running d521 ceramics(too hell if im changing rims), atm i run 20-25 for natural/wet weather, then about 30 for the summer, so i guess i should be ok? so at eaest on my freeride and street bikes i can run it fine , presumably you can use almost any tyre?
  14. cheers mike, that vid just converted me! whats the lowest pressure you have managed to get away with?
  15. nope, xt and xtr arent all that great, they have a linkage that makes them complicated, and it doesnt work all that well, they do the job as a front brake i guess now this guys knows it, avid rock, get an sd7 or ultimate if you have the money, shimano dont make as good a v brakes compared to avid (except the arch rival which is wank), but shimano do make damn nice levers the xtr is a fantastic lever
  16. i didnt mean giving up on it, just getting a car to keep you mobilised! your current car does look kinda fun though, have you had it valued without the engine?
  17. i was thinking that, i guess its cos hes finished uni, doesnt need to be on the computer as much, and tartybikes is probably taking up alot of time?
  18. for that money you could just buy a cheap run around car, im sure there must be a scrappy who has 1 of those engines? do you know if the engine is the same type as any other cars they have made?
  19. seats on stocks for sure, i love having mine, it looks feckin class trouble is you have to spend time and money on a good seatpost and seat combo, if they are all high and chubby looking, they look gash, but a nice low profile slim seat looks lovely i dont care if it 'limits' my sidehops though or whatever, cos i doubt i will ever get a bike that high thing is, its all personal preference, i do think the clean lines of seatless bikes do make them look rather cool, and it saves weight, but having a mini seat as a comprimise just looks shit, i cant believe i ever ran 1 now...
  20. hydro wise, julie and deores are cheap as fookery-about 50quid on ebay/from the woolyhatshop, but you get what you pay for-the julies are made by magura=shit seals from my experience with their higher end models, as well as poor build quality, the deores are solid, but ideally need bigger rotors-a 185 deore with ebc reds would be pretty good judging by my old rear 1 with a 160 rotor and standard pads cable wise, well theres only 2 choices, the avid bb5 and bb7, both just as good powerwise, but the bb7 has more adjustability-its your call dont forget you need to budget a cable and lever if you dont already have 1 i would choose the bb7 with a avid/shimano lever and linear slick cable-cheap and reliable you havent mentioned the problem with your louise? tell us wassup and we may be able to help you get it working again
  21. odyssey linear slick cable-cheap and awesome nokon if you have the money and yeah inners do make a difference, pre stretched inners means theres less faffing with adjusting lots when first fitted, and the brake wont be horrible and flexy at first, but these both come with decent inners so dont worry
  22. if you badly need a wheel, dont even think about gettin an echo cassette hub yet get a fixed rear with an eno front
  23. im a sheep for having an opinion? oh yes sorry, because everyone else loves the feeling of achievement, im not allowed to feel it without copying, holy shit sorry-i didnt realise this was a forum, i wasnt supposed to comment on what i love about riding like the topic says, how foolish of me... f**king twat
  24. isnt that a resevoir so you can use it on disc brakes?
