  1. heatsink make alloy backings, but they arent exactly cheap, re-useable however.... i used some old rim wrangler backings and made rimjam rubber fit in, these lasted a good few months and offered crazy and reliable braking im still yet to make some more cos im lazy you could try making your own backings, alot of hassle though
  2. thats better ben i had 3 pieces on my base/curtis and they were great, infact i prefer them to my current middleburns
  3. more than likely crack at the bolt holes as the material gets thinner and all the pressure will be going to those 2 points on yours though? thats what happned when i made a snapped xtr into a 2 bolt booster for 4 bolt mounts
  4. you could get hold of the old onza adaptor that allows you ro run a front freewheel/track cog or get a ddg/betd/dmr 3 piece bash thatll let you run a 20t 5 bolt ring
  5. can do, or in a boiling pan of water, also put you rotor in the dishwasher
  6. shaun seems to have turned uber sketchy recently, i used to ride with him and he was sound as a pound silly boy
  7. pah danny, you suck now think of an amazing way of getting 1 to fit, whilst still running a seatpost and clamp for some reason my latest base is flexy as fook compared to my last 1
  8. i agree with you guys, but ever thought that some kids who would be doing this, would be uber stoked to meet him? for alot of people, riding with pros is not an everyday occurance, they are simply paying for the experience rather than actually learning alot
  9. now i feel fat, im over 13 stone *runs off crying*
  10. then hit it and snap it dont be a silly billy
  11. ha ha if thats anything like the size on an xtr, then good luck gettin one of those badboys on ben it'll hit you seattube
  12. ha ha mat, my new base is crazy light, its actually too light and i fall off cos i go too far on things still not used to it i guess but the kona and commencal are a tad on the porky size, then again i need that kinda strength with all those headsets im cracking....... smack daddies?!?! jeeez they are like almost 2 kilos for the whole setup arent they? they are uber heffas either way im gettin powerbites on my 24, cos i want it too be ubbbbber strong and light
  13. i wonder if koxx have actually found any suckers to buy them yet............. and cheers to the chappy who gave the link for the jockey wheels, they are just what im looking for on my bike
  14. i f**ked a set in a day, i was very unimpressed with them, poor quality bearings(rough as guts) and they didnt seem to 'feel' right either-flexy, didnt seem straight and the anodising wears off in nano seconds, and yes i did buy them new now awaiting racefaces response im really happy with my new saints, and i havent heard of any snapping yet-im sure some have though cos they are specced on some crazy ass freeriders bikes, but overall i would say they are the best mtb cranks out mk3s arent as strong apparently, mk2s were the best, i still have a set awaiting another trials bike ever thought about trying primo powerbites? they are pretty kickass and come in mtb bb i loved them on my old bmx, and from what ive heard they last fecking long
  15. now, look at your mech, now think what way round it would be if it was on the other side wouldnt work would it its an idea i guess, but pretty pointless
  16. exactly what im doing, im modifying a set of ultimate callipers, altho theres no real need to cos my brakes powerful enough as it is-more just out of interest really we can anyway, heatsink make cnc backings that fit magura pad material, simply gotta remove magura pad material from the backings and glue them into the v backings, sorted
  17. billys do them-well at leats they deal surly try www.billys.co.uk
  18. i've noticed this, alot of the real talented riders dont appear to be sponsored, although i have heard quite a few saying they dont want to actually ride for anyone, cos they will have to use parts they dont like and yes there are some uber shite riders who are sponsered-lucky them i guess, all i got was discounts off parts
  19. try a real v brake and you will soon find out they hold just as well/better than minguras
  20. pah ben you loser, none of my blurrs were hard to get off i dont really have troubles gettin tyres off, i should think theirs a nack to it, and alot of people dont seem to have it?
  21. for trials the bb7 is fine, but for anything where it has to brake hard and gets a chance to heat up, they are turd, thats why hydros come on top end bikes bb7s are very good, but avid juicys piss over them, you dont have to suddenly buy a bleed kit and all that shite either....why the fook do people insist on rebleeding every 5 minutes weirdos, for bleeding its pretty simple, just need some oil and a few basic tools to undo the bleed bolts...well thats what ive survived on for all my disc brakes and ive had loads bb7=cheap, dependable brake to a point-they seem to have a short lifespan with a fair few wanting to dismantle themselves juicy=amazing top end hydro disc brake that so far doesnt seem to want to give up! from my experience they are the only 2 brakes worth considering on your trials bike
  22. i have 1 in the shed, i got it off ebay with intention of using it.....but never got round to it! they are quite a simple design, no idea on the power, i may try it on the base just to see
