  1. Awesome news dude! I think they charged something in the region of 70 quid. I need to get saving before I go for the flow.
  2. If you are getting it done in Hampshire, Denmead Tyres have been very good to me. Took a little effort to get them to understand the concept of a non fixed camber adjusting top mount, but they really did put in the effort and got what I wanted in the end.
  3. Ahh I see, that's some good info to know, cheers, dude. Have you had the wheels aligned correctly yet?
  4. probably not, if they are knackered. Are they direct fit or are new hubs, droplinks and wishbones required?
  5. Was that bleed related though? Weren't hope always DOT fluid? Wouldn't mineral oil either eat/expand the seals in a DOT system? With the pad move issue could a smaller bore ID of the hose help with this? Bit of a bugger with compatible parts I imagine.
  6. I don't understand where the lies came from? Sus is bad, change for better...
  7. With that logic then, a disc brake lever and maggie calipers would give a marked improvement in power? Are there any closed system disc brake levers that would be suitable for this?
  8. I think my new liking of them is due to all the Clio propaganda you have been posting recently! I wouldn't mind a go in one. but I wouldn't be kicking it as hard as I drive the leon, as its not mine, so I'm sure I wont defect to frenchland. I really wanna see how the leon performs at curborough soon. new suspension, tyres and brakes since last time, shame I wont have more power in by then though.
  9. Nah mate, do want to at some point though. I like the catches for the bumper. It would be cool to go that route on the leon, because that front bumper will always need removing and is a massive pain to get back on.
  10. Probably not such a bad choice tbf. Is it bad that I am liking clios more and more
  11. Impact, lubrication, heat and brute force. Once those options are exhausted, cut the f**ker. Got an angle grinder if the dremel is in hampshire?
  12. I personally won't be using Pressfit BB if I can help it. I remember working in halfords and replacing BB bearings constantly on the BB30-90 bikes. Much rarer to have to replace a std threaded BB for some reason. There are some significant weight benefits for trials, but a creaky bike would piss me off no end.
  13. No Adam, just curb weight. I am not too fussed for now, will probably alter the height slightly at some point so will need realignment. Yes it is, looks more like this height: Unlucky mate! Hope they arrive soon for you buddy. Went for a wet drive today and found im getting more understeer, unexpected, although I was pushing quite hard with some skoda estate lol.
  14. Got to the garage at about 1pm on Friday. left at 4.30pm Got the car on the ramps for tracking after fitting the rear beam, ball joints and new suspension. Been driving with the band on the wheel pointing to 10 o'clock, very weird. It is also likely that the tracking was very much out of Alignment. They had a really good hawkeye alignment system so I took full advantage of that. I asked for maximum caster, -2 camber and 0 toe. After an hour and a half on the ramp the manager came over as a queue was starting to form. Unfortunately, we were no where near the targets at this point because the guy doing the setup refused to believe the silver project camber adjusters could also alter camber. This was because they had only seen camber plate top mounts that are bolted to the chassis and set purely for camber adjustment. Had to get off the ramp for about an hour to get the other 4 cars in the queue through. (can see the vinyl on the front bumper de laminating, happened on the first sunny day unfortunately and then started to rip with stone chips and rain.) Then back on the ramps, another mechanic came over, one I have dealt with before, he actually listened to what I was saying and set the top mounts with the slot facing about 45deg from the travel of vehicle direction. The set up plan was max caster by sliding the strut as far back as possible and then rotate the top mount to set the camber. Set the toe and readjusted slightly. This is what we finished with in the end: Been for a couple of drives now and the car feels better than it has ever done in the past, really pleased. Corners very had and grips much better. Next step: Get bumpers sprayed and then Powerrrrrrrrrrr. Cheers, Ash
  15. Cool to see all the internals, I read somewhere that you will need to get it balanced after you reassemble it. Not sure how much that costs, but you don't want an unbalanced disc spinning at ~100K RPM. Keep us updated how you get on. Ash
  16. Lol Jardo. The average I get in the LCR is 28mpg, however on a single fast trip it is more like 22-24mpg
  17. Maybe the most modern Iphone, I'm sure the version at a similar release date was very similar. Were talking about the S4, a 3 year old phone, how many people would consider a 3 year old I phone?
  18. GET THE EGIP OLED Box Mods look so weird in comparison. If you are after small and powerful, I do recommend it! It is my daily at the minute.
  19. I've had some shiny new bits arrive today. Anyone want to see? Lots of pics
