  1. M6 is used for V brakes and conventional cantilever studs (i.e: the normal magura 2 bolt mountings). As adam said, a couple of packers of aluminium will sort it out, other than that, can't help

So following the 14" belter that turned out to be a 16" belter we've accidentally a whole Isla cnoc14s The child isn't three yet, can't pedal yet but at least he's sorted for the next few years
  3. Builders are in today, digging up the garden for the extension

Oh and it has a cracked and welded driveside crank that the seller managed to not mention or take photos of! Looks a good weld though so I'm not concerned, but how the hell do you crack a crank on a 16" kids bike? It's a bit smaller than the isla16 so he will be a bit quicker onto it, in the mean time a friend of mine has a grandson who is just growing out of his frog40 but can't quite fit into the 20" frog that he has to grow into. Going to do a part time swap, isla16 for frog40 till Aneurin is big enough to move onto the early rider. edit: needs new brake cables as the old ones have never seen lube that I can tell, also the bottom bracket bearings were notchy to all hell, too much happy jetwash I think (MX racing family). Cartridge bearings all round though so popped the races out, prised out the seals and soaked them in thinners for ten mins. Repacked with waterproof grease and now much more freely spinning Got to try to clean and lube the belt freewheel now, it's an odyssey unit and appears to be fully rebuildable so will look into that one. Dripped some oil into it in the mean time and it's better than it was. Belt drives are a bit of a faff to tension with sliding dropouts, if the wheel's not perfectly square the belt slides off the side of the sprockets Picture added of the gunk that came out of the two bottom bracket bearings edit again: sorry not an MX family, turns out it's Ben Birchall as in half of the IoM TT sidecar outfit racing brothers duo
  5. Wife got me a beastmaker last Christmas, it's hard and I'm still not a beast...

Well Aneurin was 88cm when we measured him a few weeks back, he can currently climb onto Persephone's frog52 and reach the pedals with both feet, I think sheer bloody mindedness and willpower will get him to fit Can always make a plywood saddle cutout with a hole to fit over the seat tube stub, couple of zipties to the toptube and some closed cell foam padding, all he needs!
  7. It's fine as long as it's not disturbed, most schools and hospitals are full of the stuff
  8. Yeah, if they're good then leave well alone Guess who did their annual asbestos awareness course yesterday
  9. Careful with those roof sheets, looks like they could be asbestos from here edit: white asbestos was used to reinforce corrugated cement sheets and is hydrophillic so tends to hold moisture and grow moss. If they were put up 50-70s then definitely watch out for them!

Except what was sold as a belter 14 is actually a belter 16 To match the isla 16 that we already have in stock..... His 6 month older cousin can borrow the isla and he will have to grow into the ER. Recommended inside leg of 40cm, Anuerin is 30cm from foot to nappy (cloth nappy so at least 2" thick) and growing like a weed so it'll probably not take him long to get on it. In the mean time I'm going to see if I can't fashion a combined seatpost/clamp so we can fully slam the saddle

I think it's two consecutive days of -ve tests on day 6 & 7 and you're out. Lily is now out of isolation and back to school tomorrow, zero covid infection in the rest of us.

Aneurin is taking to the balance bike really well so we're thinking that we ought to get a small bike to have around the house ready for him to pick up when he's ready. Going to be a while before he can fit the Isla 16 we have in stock. Wife spotted an early rider belter 14 for 100 quid on Facebook, a bit of tidying on the edges but that's not an issue, let's see how long he takes

Did you have any vaccine previously? No judgement at all just curious. My delta infection back in November was stabby eyeball pain, aching hips, sinus pain for a day and no fever. Lost some taste for about 3 days or so. The vaccines may have anulled some of the symptoms, personally I don't see the need for more now. The worst bit for me was aching hips as it stopped me sleeping properly!
  17. Quinoa, EVERYTHING with quinoa! Note that we're not vegan or even veggie but reckon the could drop the meat without too much hassle.

I'm fairly happy that it appears to be on its way out. We'll get to Boris's herd immunity once all the dead people have finished dieing

    Covid19

So yup, we're apparently immune to omicron, absolute no transmission from Lily to the rest of us. Been testing lfts every couple of days and not one positive. I had my second jab on 1st June and no boosters, so according to the government I have zero protection against omicron... I guess we had enough natural immunity hanging about from our delta infection at the beginning of November, I'll stick with my own immunity from now on
  20. House extension starts on the 10th Jan. I suppose this will force me to finish off building the kitchen that I started back in 2015

    Covid19

So Lily has now tested positive whilst away over the Christmas break, she was the only one of us that didn't get Delta back in October/November as she went to stay at her dads. Looks like we may all be infected again within the next few days. Be interesting to see what it does as we should still have some T cell immunity. I'm double jabbed but not boosted.
  22. Happy Christmas etc etc We were all sorted and in bed by ten including the rampaging toddler! Woken up at 5 by the teenager and finally got up at 6

    Covid19

Be interesting to see how you cope with it, seeing as you had it in the early waves. I reckon you'll just have a couple of days of flu like symptoms. Keep us updated
  24. I reckon that'd work edit: in reality it is easy to isolate the stiffness in a BB brake and it would only need a tiny amount of moisture in there to freeze to seize it up. Stick the caliper in a bowl of rice for a couple of days and see if it releases at all when it's cold.
