    Covid19

Alright, alright mr big head! Refreshing isn't it? I think that's because we're largely a mature, educated group of people who 'grew up' together on here and riding stupid bikes with no seats! We're more of a community than a melting pot of dailymail readers the are only interested in spouting their own opinion/agenda than engaging in debate.
  2. Indeed who is this new chap? Reckon he knows anything at all?
  3. I know slack head angles, long, low etc etc all makes it a bit vague but surely my 1080mm wheelbase intense with a high BB (face it, it's a BMX with 26" wheels and suspension) should loop out easier! The switchback climb up lower cliff at Cannock should be a nightmare for you edit: or is it the silly pie plate large sprocket giving you silly ratio and therefore loads of torque to hoist the front wheel at every opportunity? I guess my 32:36 gearing keeps the power going backwards not upwards.
  4. How the hell did you get the tyre wandering on cardiac? It's a straight hill

    F1

I don't follow F1 but watched the last 30 laps or so due to the hype surrounding this year's finale. Not a fan of either but max seems like a bit of a cock. Given that Hamilton was still holding sufficient lead with knackered tyres and verstappen couldn't catch him it seems grossly unfair that the 10 second advantage with 6 laps remaining gets completely obliterated by the safety car. Might as well not bothered with the previous 57 laps, just set them off with unbalanced tyre setup (new softs vs old hards) for a one lap sprint...
  6. New headset arrived, all works as intended. Hand tracking is also working now so I can pretend to press pretend buttons in my pretend plane that I'm pretending to fly with my real life fingers on my real life hands

    Trials Couples

Neil and Nadine* Tunnicliffe? Not doing riding videos though. * née Staniforth
  8. Here's me, <250 quid a month mortgage and have I bothered to overpay anything? hah! There is only me earning though so much less disposable income.
  9. Even that reprobate Travis has been on pinkbike! In all honesty though hand built steel hardtails seem pretty popular even if your build isn't necessarily aimed at the usual demographic
  10. Adam Read, the man that will take a grinder to eewings. You f**king loon
  11. He's a regressed weight weenie, what do you think
  12. Headset is dead, HP are sending me a new one
  13. I think berd had tried that, seem to recall seeing it in the patent doc. I think the main problem would be preventing the rope from slipping through the flange, knotting it causes a reduction in strength I think Adam said?
  14. DHL pulled out the stops and delivered the cable from HP a day early! I now have a new updated cable under warranty to solve all of the issues. Headset still doesn't work boo Think it's a Windows update has stopped the usb controllers talking to the headset properly.
  15. HP have come through with the warranty on the cable and it should be arriving Monday
  16. So the 3070 GPU is awesome, not so awesome is my vr headset has decided it doesn't like connecting to the USB ports on my machine any more. Known fault with HP and they've been replacing them under warranty with a new version, fingers crossed I can get one otherwise it's 135 quid for the updated V2. On the happy side my old gtx1070 is currently bidding up to 315 quid on eBay, granted I'll have to be paying close to 40 quid sellers fees but I only paid 200 for it three years ago Apart from the cable failing it was looking to be a very cheap GPU upgrade!
  17. Go for snowflake build! Got to be fun playing cats cradle with your spokes :D edit: Reckon you could get the threaded ends shorter on a later build to save more weight? Could you alternatively look at having the tensioning at the hub end to reduce your rotational inertia?
  18. @Adam@TartyBikes is it a conscious design to not cross the spokes? Presume the tension comes from stretching the rope rather than having the spokes contact and pull against one another?
  19. Yup, also no sign in available on mobile version :) Logged in on desktop version of page without any issue then switched back to mobile version.

    TF Makers

Pfft, call yourself a reformed weight weenie, you could have taken those dropouts back to the plate and you know it Now you'll just collect 15g of mud in there!
  21. FFS Dave, you practically invited the spam bot in here!

    TF Makers

    Practice on the old frame

    TF Makers

Make a paper template, use your tensioner screws and the inside face of the dropout as your datum and then you can use the same template on both sides and it will be even

    TF Makers

I would have done it before gluing them together But yeah, in situ, mark a rough cutting line and scribe a finished line, 1mm slitting disk to the rough and use a flap wheel to take it back to the scribed. Shouldn't be too hard to do and eye them up enough to not notice.
