  1. Yarp, I recently got a Rotary I love it always getting comments on it. I borrowed a Rolex for a while everyone automatically assumed it was fake due to my position in the company etc. so gave it back quick sharp, because of the huge profile I was always banging it on stuff and it was too heavy really love my current watch.
  2. Because he can and he just wants to remind everyone. Fact of the matter is if you can afford to spend £1000 on a watch then chance are you can afford to spend £1200 on a watch. And if you can't you probably shouldn't be buying one. I got a fair wack off my latest watch because it was wrongly priced in the window and I played dumb and got them to write the quote down so that they had to honour it.
  3. Surely fantasy football started 4 weeks ago...

    Getreading

I hate you guys.... Can I please live in Reading and be a Riffer?
  6. Yes. I don't wanna go into why cos' it could sound arrogant but I'm in a good place. Will get better in 4 months when I can move out this studio and into my first home. Only downside is I don't have time to even scratch my own ass, let alone go gym or anything but that's working for me at the moment.
  7. Just look at GlaxoSmithKline and I wouldn't be too sympathetic haha http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16913816 A 6 month prescription of my antibiotic costs them about 2p haha But your right for better drugs can cost a fortune!
  8. yea I had a bit of a row with them about it because they always have a mare at me when I dont take it but only used to give me 1 months percription with 1 repeat. Now the give me 4-6 months at a time which is fine.
  9. Its free if your on JSA / Income support, pregnant, thyroid related, under 18 - etc etc, if your working chances are you can afford £8 and if you can't then your probably better off on benefits. You don't pay anything whilst inside hospital - (except for your tv - phone - internet - parking etc. all at redic rates) but guess thats because your prescribed drugs are brought to you in a little cup which you take while the nurses are there, not much chance of waste and you get brought your drugs at the time of day you need them, (I know I was on like 4 lots a day) so wouldn't make any sense.
  10. Because drugs been thrown away cost the tax man an estimated £150 million. Means you don't pick up prescriptions "just because you can". I'm on medication for the rest of my life and they still won't give it to me for free so don't complain about £8 every now and again lol Source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/jul/03/prescription-medicine-unused and thats on returned drugs alone.
  11. I'm out of this now because your just pissing me off now and I don't want to rant. It's easy to "dare" with someone elses money.
  12. this may be some use: http://www.bikewebsite.com/store.html If would never touch my parents house. I think its disrespectful to even ask. But each to their own.

    Rail Gap Fail Bail

Leons a badaman thats why! Sick line dude you manage to do it in the end or did you learn your lesson?
  14. Currently working as an finance analyst but before worked in the financial leasing industry where blue chip company's got 6-7%, established business with collateral would be at 10-15% and we wouldn't touch anything less with a barge-pole. Hence why I put a question mark afterwards, cos its uncharted ground for me. Understand I'm not slating your business in the slightest, if you've know your stuff you know you stuff, if you can get the money and make it successful then fair-play but when you say things like "I think it might be a case of getting a personal loan secured against my parents house! should be an interesting conversation! haha" Then I start to think your not ready yet.
  15. I only would if I could afford to lose my job. Look at it this way, your forewarning him that you need to be reaplced... hence they will find a replacement - will a small firm keep both of you on if your other job doesn't come through? If you really do care about the company the best thing you could do is get a delayed start on your next job for say 2 months so you can work a longer notice period. The big firm may appreciate your loyalty and hope that you would show them the same courtesy were you ever to leave them. Or you may just piss of your new employer before you even start with them. But its something you could mention in interveiw so they are aware before they make you an offer.
  16. Business is business not personal. Wait till you have a firm offer from the larger firm, work your 4 weeks notice and leave respectfully. If you tell them you may be leaving and then it falls through they will be left questioning your commitment and dedication etc. etc. etc. To let them know organise a meeting with your manager which doesn't coincide with anything else in his day, let him know the score personally and write a small paragraph as to why you are resigning as a formal resignation. If you really are invaluable to the team you may find that they may prepared to offer you a better deal which you could negotiate.
  17. Theres no "this is how much start up will be" if your seriously going to walk into a bank and ask for money you need a whole business plan package, which if you do properly will take you of least a month to set up. You need to be able to account for and be knowledgeable about.... refurbishment, decor, stands, bikes, stock, suppliers, wages, national insurance, rent, workshop, liability insurance, contingency, marketing, launch, deadlines, cash flow projections, budget allocation, electronic POS, contracts, break clauses, limited company?, sole trader?, buiness insurance, building rates, water, electric, USP, demand projection, distribution. Personally I wouldn't employ someone with "15 years exp" because that essentially means £20k plus per year? You should be that "high" paid guy in your business. Also remember that 70-80% of businesses fail or lose money in their first year. So if you think you can go "urrrrr I wanna bike shop" and someones going to give the money to you, then you are stoned. All money borrowed will be at a very high rate which you need to account for in your business plan. And if that numbers too high then they won't invest in you because their repayments will cripple your company. From my finance exp if you do get money expect it to be at 20% or more? My cousin set up a tiny fashion store last year where staff were paid based on profits and he still needed £100k and hes already lost it all.
  18. I would never open a bike shop, most lose money on shops, internet is where its at when you launch, if you can't sell on the internet then there's no way you'll sell in a shop. If I were to think about it I'd get a contract with Cycles UK or similar, at an old shop we worked at we got all returned mail order bikes for £10 - bit of repairing they were £130 bikes easy, sell on ebay - happy days.

    Beards

My facial hair looks like global warming. Wish I could have a beard.
  20. Honestly don't know what I think about this.... If you are to do it I'd say £5 per year or £15 1 off payment. This coming from a student / JSA income, I expect my opinion on the value of money will change in 2 weeks when I start my job though! If your talking £20 then I'd say its too high, I'm always bitter about paying an xbox subscription and I get something extra for that! Honestly don't know what I think. Like I said in the other topic (having not read this) if you would like more donations then you should be making it more visible, since being here I've known that you can donate but I can't find how to on the site anywhere. As soon as I found out I donated an amount I can afford.
  21. Just stick it on the bar next to feedback - sorted. The fact that I can't even find where it is after 7 years of being on here is also wrong! I know how much time and effort you guys put in, if you can grab a few beers for the weekend on us then its fair play
  22. Tom you should really make a donate tab by the side of feedback, loads of forums are totally in your face about it but if you do it subtly don't think anyone would have any problems. I've used this forum more than enough to ship over some money but its not even obvious how to? Unless I'm just being retarded.
  23. Well I was always very lazy, if you have the 3 points and you know the "U" is going to be symmetrical then you can make an educated enough guess. I think my laziness is because on the AQA A-level board you only needed to label axis, make sure you found all intercepts and draw the right shape. Don't think we were even given graph paper! haha I'd always factorise then plot, but I guess personal preference. Back to the OP the main problem is in your question "6x^2 - 7x - 10 = 0" surely its ment to be 6x^2-7x-10= y? (haven't done this shit in ages) the Y-Axis is essentially x=0 and the X-Axis is essentially x=0. So youv'e missed a step - to find where it intercepts the y axis you make x=0 and to find the x intercept you make y=0. Yea I forgot the name of the formula last night, completing the square isn't it? Don't forget for your problem you have to divide everything by 6 intitially to make a single x^2 term and then just times by 6 at the end.
