  1. I can vouch for that bike being suitable - you didn't hang about on the climb at the beast that year! (Proof again that I'm the limiting factor, that hill almost killed me!)
  2. I am, without a doubt, the limiting factor of all the bikes I've owned - I'd rather make excuses than admit that, though haha. Wheels are too big, frame is too small, it's too wet, it's too dry...
  3. Haha, it's a weird experience for sure. Good for rolling over rocks and roots apparently, but I didn't enjoy it much. And yeah, my Dartmoor came from Poland and that was £4.95 shipping or something - that's cheaper than I could send one in the UK.
  4. Yeah I was surprised to not see proper bucket & harness setup, they've clearly done a ton of work on that car, so to skip that safety aspect is weird.
  5. Not one for the purists, but what a machine this is!
  6. I had a 29er a while back and I found it too big, though that could have been psychological or simply that the bike itself was too big, rather than the wheels. Currently have a Dartmoor with 27.5 wheels and it's the best MTB I've ever had - technically a lower spec than the Cannondale before it, but that thing was way too small. Fun on the downhill, awful for climbs, especially when turning. Personally I'd go for 27.5, purely because of how widely available parts are, tyres etc
  7. I looked at it like £10 being two pints of beer in the local (Yeah, Bristol...) - a much better use of that cash is to help someone who's going through a whole lot of shit! Looks like his fundraiser is going really well, I saw someone donated a grand not long after me, great to see so many generous people getting involved.
  8. This is true. The lump has mostly "re-absorbed", but can still be seen... I've avoided surgery though, so that's a result in itself. Jet lag has mostly gone now, I forced myself to stay up until 11 last night to try and get things back in sync.
  9. Oh awesome, my V12's are white so I'll replace them with these at £7.99 then - that's a ridiculous price!
  10. That looks like so much fun! What are the pedals like? £9.99 is super cheap - wouldn't mind replacing my V12's at some point, for that price it's rude not to.
  11. Just got home from Malaysia, been awake almost 24 hours. 14 of which were sat on a plane. Got my car back, the M4 was shut... Not really angry, but we don't have a "Tired and on a holiday come-down" thread. Holiday itself was awesome though, well worth the long travel
  12. Just chucked a few quid over, sounds like he's going through hell and having recently lost a friend to a brain tumour and my grandfather being taken by throat cancer ten years ago, I'm happy to help this chaps fight. All the best to him.
  13. Surely it would have just been cut to half it's original length?
  14. I'm 1:21 into that, it's gotta be a joke, surely
  15. Believe me, you don't want to see that.
  16. So, multiple salt baths yesterday... the one just before bed made 'Mount Mike' erupt. It's still pretty swollen and I'm sure there's more in there, but importantly it's making it's own way out Fingers crossed it clears up quickly!
  17. He sent me sketches, he's having M I K E on this left hand fingers and B E C K on the right. Should look pretty good.
  18. Usually I would agree with you, but I'm not sure that it's the answer for this one. I do have a couple of food challenges lined up, just struggling to actually buy them!
  19. That's a pretty good summary ^ Doing overtime with warm compresses and plenty of fluids, vitamins etc... mostly won't help, probably, but I'll try almost anything at this stage
  20. I have an infection in my groin. Been given Flucloxacillin and told that if it doesn't get any better in two days, I'll need surgery. That sucks already, but it also means I'll not be able to fly to Malaysia on the 13th. And, that also means I'll lose about £1,500 as it's all paid for and we haven't got insurance yet (Yeah, I know...)
  21. It maybe was left too late, but I think two and a half weeks is reasonable, it's not like I have a million invoices to sort through. Their system needs a lot of work. Actually navigating around doesn't seem too tricky, but getting access should be way easier than it is. Text me a code so I can log in and view my UTR, send the UTR by email... plenty of ways to do it other than by snail mail.
  22. Well, here we are, 31st Jan, still not UTR... Luke's comment "HMRC are, despite what you'll hear a lot, much better these days" may generally be true, but this process is a shower of shite in my opinion. Even having to wait 10 days for a code is ludicrous - why not instantly generate it online, like everywhere else does? And even if not, taking ten days to generate one and post it to you is nuts. Should be 2-3 days max. Needless to say I'll be appealing against any late filing fines, as their incompetence is not my fault.
  23. This was meant to say I'm NOT convinced they're legit. Having just seen another one, I'm sure they're faking it. The creations are awesome, but I don't believe they're doing it all by hand. Also, primitive tools, minimal clothing and "surviving in a jungle", but they have multiple 4K cameras
  24. I saw a vid of theirs in my recommended, I'm convinced they're legit. To be fair though, even if they use better tools off camera, it's still a pretty cool end result.
