  1. A normal mountain bike wheel should sit central in the frame and be equally dished from either end of the hub axle, as with any hub/rim combination, geared or singlespeed.. Your wheel may be true, but it sounds like it isn't dished correctly which is what Nick is advising you to do.
  2. Got to be honest i thought Rafal looked sketchy, wasn't overly impressed. Especially compared to Lazlo, who was much more impressive to watch.
  3. Long and short refers to the wheelbase of the frame, the distance between then front and rear axles, its one measurement that makes up a light of common dimesions taken from a frame and generally termed the Geometry. Wheelbase will make a difference to how it rides, but there are many other aspects of the geometry that will make the bike ride differently. http://http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media.php?group=guides&id=22 Have a look at that, gives you a good basis on the difference between frames. How long have you been riding for and where abouts in Bristol are you? Ride Bristol every now and again, so keep checking the rides thread for a Bristol ride and pop along.
  4. Quite a few of the tops guys do bits like this, but their bikes weigh 8KGs and they will actually notice the odd 100grams or so here or there.
  5. It's definitely more of a muscle/strength builder than a fat burner, you really need some decent cardiovascular exercise get burn fat; which trials doesn't really provide, there just isn't the sustained effort you need to burn it. Go out running, get a xc bike or go swimming if you wish to burn fat.
  6. Sweeeeeeet, might bring the stock down aswell as the 24" then
  7. MTB bars tend to be very flat compared to trials bars, having about half as much upsweep. It doesn't sound like much but it certainly feels very different.Where abouts are you from? I guess you've enquired with Tarty about their international shipping costs? I've got a set of Monty bars on my stock and some Truvativ bars on my 24" and although the bars on the 24" feel fine width and rise wise, they feel really flat and horrible comapred to the Monty bars.
  8. What DMR pedals are they? If they're anything but Mags then i can't see the point as they will still be heavier than a Wellgo MG1. Bearings aren't really an issue with dirt etc, its not like they get ridden through puddles or in the mud to the same extent as on a mountainbike.
  9. Periodic maintenance of a trials bike?! Are you mad!
  10. Will be down anyways, Luke is working i'm afraid
  11. Look lovely, although the heatsink on the callipers looks like it would get clogged up in 30 seconds in our climate.
  12. Could be on haven't been down for a month or two.
  13. I run a front maggy with rock blues on a DX32 rim with a 2month old light grind and its awesome. Definitely clean the tar off your rim, rin a light sharp grind and set up everything nice and square and it should work fine. Mine certainly bites and holds a million times better than my rear brake.
  14. That was really cool, managed to get some good riding in there too, nicely done.
  15. Or that the weld is essentially a small cast area (if not heat treated) and as such is brittle, less ductile, lower tensile strength and is prone to cracking again.
  16. You're saying the rumours about Porter aren't true!? It is true though, the majority of riders down here do ride a proper sized bike.
  17. I'm still mentally scared and going to counselling for that! We miss you Rich we'll come down to Cornwall soon.
  18. Yay Andy is coming ! Oh Hannah is coming .... Ah makes sense now Should be a goodun!
  19. Didn't you post a topic asking about snowflake rear wheels? Sorry if it was someone different, if not..... fool! Get some 20" forks and it'll ride a whole lot nicer i'm sure. Where abouts in Devon are you from?
  20. I'm guessing Mr Marino? Contact him via his website, he's a custom builder in a shed in Peru so i can't see him having anyone else that sells them. MIght just be easier to get some made up yourself, they're very simple and shouldn't cost much at all.
  21. End of school ball i went in a fire engine (my uncle is a fireman) and for my end of college ball i went in a ex Richard Burns WRC Impreza, loud and not comfy!
  22. Whats the reach of your frame? Compared it to the Neon? Neon: Centre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: 670mm (26.5") Thats what you really want to be comparing, can't imagine the two frames to be that different, but then if you need the extra 20mm then it might be worth it. Thought about chaing the stem or the angle of your bars to increase the cockpit space?
  23. Parking is £1 all day. Are we sharing lifts down mate? Why so early?!?!?!?
