I know nothing about that course, but the uni is ranked 97 out of 113 universities in the UK. That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad for your course, it needs checking though, I went to look at the 112th worst uni (As i'd heard the department I wanted is good) and the course there was awful, it had mostly useless modules that didn't appear to require any work and 70% of students dropped out. If i'm gonna sink £30,000 of my Ferrari fund into a uni course I want it to be of benefit...

Got unconditionals from 4 of my places now. The last place is Oxford Brookes who I have an interview with, don't know if it's worth going to or not, I don't really want to go there unless I can get a scholarship, which is quite possible.

You could try finding an estate Polo, they are pretty cheap and are surprisingly big inside. I have the Seat version of it, people always think it's a Golf sized car. If you can find the 1.9 turbo diesel version even better, mine is pretty rapid and very good on fuel.

Most Etonians I know are nicer than a lot of other public school pupils. If anything, the cheaper/ less prestigious schools seems to be worse. I know a guy who didn't know that comprehensive schools exist

Or perhaps he should have bought the correct uniform in the first place My school had a very strict dress code, we had these daft old fashioned maroon blazers. People not wearing the correct uniform used to piss me off though, it makes the school look shit.

I know nothing about modes or resoloutions. It's allll about the virtuoso post bop avant garde jazz... Mark Latimer, check him out on itunes or his website or wikipedia or something...

I'm pretty sure most people won't be able to learn it, and the people I know, it took them about a years worth of GCSE music lessons trying to learn it... I used it for perhaps a week or two. Can't remember what the site was, it was significantly better than any others though. I don't know who any of the people you mentioned are. I'm sure modes are useful, but not essential to use in a formalised way. My mentor doesn't believe in teaching jazz, or jazz theory, and he's one of the most successful jazz pianists/ innovators around.

Talent > Modes. You can learn perfect pitch, I have two friends that have done it and can tell whether a note is in tune, and after using the same training website a few years ago I can now sing any note and play any piece in the right key straight away, can't do the tuning though.

Theory is of little use except for music analysis. And making you look like a genius when you say "I like your use of a neapolitan sixth there." I have never conciously used theory in compsition, except for avoiding paralel fifths and modulating, shit like that. Try learning perfect pitch, that sorts the men from the boys. And Giant Steps, one of the few standards that doesn't suck donkey cock.
