  1. I agree with Phil. If it's supposed to be fair, the obstacle must be a curb.
  2. Man that was ace I want more! Surely you have some spare footage?
  3. I'd actually quite like to know this as well. Winters here are really cold here and I'd like to beef up a bit not to waste time just getting fat.
  4. Nope, I'm going to ride that until I kick the bucket
  5. They won't fit other hubs because they replace the spacer on the Echo hub. But yeah, it's an amazing tensioner. Gave it a good ride today, would anybody like to buy this bike? It's just not my cup of tea, seems Eskimo was right. Looking for 900.
  6. Mount that on a freehub and use a 12T on the crank. That would bring a new meaning to the word slow.
  7. Got bored yesterday and decided to build one of these up. I've instantly fallen in love with how this frame rides. It's just such a natural geometry. Short spec: Echo Control Short frame Echo SL wheelset/stem/bash Trialtech bars and cranks Rest is obvious. What works incredibly well is the SL chain tensioner. The chain is so tight it can't touch the frame. I think it's one of if not the best Deng invention ever. With this little thing there is just no need to run horizontal dropouts. Was planning to sell it straight away but it rides so well that I'll probably hang on to it or sell it and then build up another one.
  8. Youtube Video -> ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  9. That was just awful. I really can't believe that they sat down, watched this video and went "yeah, that really shows are skills, lets put it up on youtube".
  10. I think such comments are best kept out of this thread simply for the sake of avoiding a row.
  11. your riding is really good, my only piece of advice would be to pinch gap (gap from the edge of the obstacle). It's easier on the drivetrain and once you learn to do it properly, you'll be able to gap further.
  12. Carbon fibre is just another thing to go wrong. It's stiff and strong, but hit it against something sharp and it'll shatter. I voted Hydroxx because it's a frame I really wanted to get. Nice geo, great looks. What else could you ask for?

    Why Me?

It's almost certainly a flared head tube or your headset. Forks don't make such noises until they're actually cracking.
  14. One word: Triton. And it's better than steel But yeah, I agree with all those points. It's really hard to find an interesting frame out there. Thankfully there's custom stuff like Triton, Curtis and some other small manufacturers meaning you can still get a frame tailored to your needs. I think Deng has made a small but steady step forward with the new Control, now it's time for him to implement the dropout solution in his remaining frames. Can't see why internal headsets are so good? Bearings can't be as large and there's a limited choice of what you can use. I don't understand why trials parts evolve so slowly. It took designers 20 years to understand that a frame similar in shape to a GU is better than a 15" mod trials bike with a saddle. It's going to take them a bit longer to understand that frames with 135mm horizontal dropouts are a good idea. As far as I'm concerned, trials components have reached a stage where not much can be improved apart from strength and weight. Design wise, they're really good. However, I'd still completely ditch the idea of threaded cranks, threaded sprockets and freewheels. Nobody likes you, 1.37" x 24tpi thread! HG/Echo Spindle system is the way forward.
  15. Nice frames these, they look so much better in the flesh though! Considering getting one myself, geometry is great too.
  16. Yeah, meant to ask.. has it all healed nicely?
  17. Either the fetish or he wants to stick himself to the ceiling. I can't see any other logical explanation.

    Headphones

I'm using some Sony in ear ones which I'd recommend but have no idea what the model name is. They cost about 30 quid, deliver great sound and don't fall out even if you hung your ipod on the lead. However, just to give you an idea, I got my ex a pair of Sony MDR-EX90LP headphones which I tried out briefly and thought they were absolutely awful. At that time they retailed for around 100 quid from a Sony dealer. They're monitor headphones meaning the quality should be great but for listening to music, they were appalling. No bass at all and they just kept falling out. If you're looking at in ear headphones, make sure they're nice and tight since that'll improve the experience for a start. As for the specs, I can't help you since I don't even know what I've got at the moment.
  19. Just browsing youtube, stopped at this Youtube Video -> Original Video Pretty swish
  20. Whoever answers this poll is officially the TF clot of the year. Unless you've actually ridden one for months and can give a proper opinion, why give one at all? Who cares about your thoughts which are based entirely on pictures and a chart illustrating geometry and weight. On the other hand, you might want to consider something like a Czar or ST. Why get a frame which is weaker (unless Deng has developed some kind of incredible material which is lighter and stronger)? Frames like the Control and Team in my opinion are for riders who know how to ride a frame properly. I'm pretty sure an inexperienced rider can strain a frame more on a small move than a good rider doing something 3,4 times as big. Having closely examined the Team and Control I can't give any opinions. It needs to be ridden, not just looked at from every angle and squeezed here and there to check the stiffness.
  21. So how are people doing with this? Started shooting mine today, really enjoyable Let's make sure this thread doesn't die, the 2006/2007 comp was fantastic!
  22. Nope, it's actually mozzarella cheese with tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper and olive oil - served cold. I don't know about the nutritious values but it's great for breakfast.
  23. Takes about 10 minutes to make and it's absolutely brilliant. Loads of olive oil + toasts give it more substance and taste. And it makes me feel I'm eating something healthier than a burger.
