My sister lives in Wrexham, so I'm up there every now and again. When I'm up next I'll letcha know. You going to NEWI?

Might have to post that to him...

Snappel's right to a certain extent. It's still really easy to heinously f**k up if you don't properly think about what you're doing. Anyway, you could do it the 'cheating' way and just take out a spoke at a time, and then put the new one in in it's place. That'll at least give you the lacing pattern, so you can just adjust it to get the dishing correct, rim true, and spoke tension to your desired level. If it's just got one or two bent spokes, you could just have them replaced on their own? Buckles are easy to sort out on your own anyway, so it's not necessarily time for a rebuild.

You can't compare BMX videos to trials videos. You can use much mellower music for BMX/skate videos just because the action tends to be more flowing and consistent. Therefore, you don't necessarily have to have music with a super defined beat every now and again or 'moments' where it sorta has crescendos or whatever. Rolling stuff looks smoother, and therefore, you can have 'smoother' music with it, hence they're using that type of music. How many trials videos do you think are made so people think "Hmm, what are 16-year-olds (nice arbitrary age there too ) listening to?"? I'm making a vid at the moment, and I don't give a shit what's in the charts or any crap like that. I know how I want the video to look and feel, so I'm editing with that in mind. Also, to claim that it's not "the fashion" in trials or BMX to listen to mellower music or "classic rock" (which The Beatles aren't) is total crap, especially in BMX. At the moment, it's more 'fashionable' in BMXing circles to listen to older music, such as the Stones, The Pixies, etc. That is total and utter shite. The "fashion and media of extreme sports" doesn't dictate shit, because it's not aimed at us. Trials isn't an "Extreme sport" in the same way that BMX, skating and fruit-booting is, and therefore it isn't marketed the same. If you feel that your riding/lifestyle is being 'dictated' by it, maybe you need to just look at what you're doing, and decide to do it your way? What someone else is telling you to do/wear/listen to doesn't mean anything, so to claim crap like you are is completely wrong. Typically, to pull off music by, say Lynnyrd Skynnyrd, you'd have to be really good, so people would over-look the more unorthodox music choice. For example, in Rowan Johns latest video he uses the original version of "Jump", and he's good enough to pull it off. It all sort of fits in. However, for riders who aren't so good, it often just looks like they're using "Different" music to try and divert attention from the fact that the riding might not be of the highest standard, whereas in actual fact they don't need to. Ah well...

www.chillivideo.com do it in the UK  That's where I ordered mine from. Should've been here today along with my Try-All rim from Cleanbikes, but both are a no-show. Joyous. Thanks for the review (N) Oh - and to cp101 - you're supposed to get validated soon, but everything's all messed up 'cos of the new board we're using (for example, mods can't validate any more), so you'll just have to bear with us, sorry.

'specially for the Viz ones that apparently deform slightly? Not made of the most durable material?

Correct me if I'm wrong here Pete, but that'd mean that you'd had to have had a lever cylinder that was approx. twice as long as usual? To get 70mm of piston travel, it'd have to be *way* longer, unless you totally moved the 'start' point of the piston further outboard, in which case it wouldn't work as well and it would feel shit? Got any pics Pete, or is this another lovely story we'll never see pics of? Correct me if I'm wrong again here Pete, but the Coust pads are a relatively 'new' pad to have come out onto the market, and you were onto Crescents by the point they came out, so comparing a brake on a flexy steel frame to a stiffer alu frame is kinda...well...retarded?

Maybe Deng's learnt from Try-All's experience that people will buy crap product just 'cos it matches their bike better? :)

There is, as far as I'm aware, the Pro2, then the Pro2T trials version? Either way, according to Dirt magazine this month too they aren't out yet, but people are saying they have them in early just to try and garner sales. To be honest Pete, Dirt has a better reputation for not spouting bullshit than you, so I'm inclined to believe them. Having a price list doesn't prove shit. I have a price list of them from Tartybikes, big whoop. That doesn't mean Clive's given me a hub or any shit like that.

I don't really get how you magicked that number out of thin air there :) The 45mm includes the depth of a booster, the depth of a spacer, and the depth of the clamps themselves, and then some to get into the threads themselves. I'm running a 2-bolt booster, and I've just got the regular 45mm bolts, and it's fine. That's with an Echo Team booster, by the way. I know it's not the same 2-bolt booster idea that you've got, but seriously - 45mm is enough. You have got 4-bolt mounts on your frame, haven't you?

That and you can't use front freewheel with the Echo ISIS BB, according to Echo...

Hey Will, that was the T-Lite short I had before I had my first T-Pro. I got the T-Lite Long you had on June 1st, this year. That picture I took was on the 19th January 2004, a couple of days before I sold that T-Lite to someone like "Trialsguru" or something like that on here. So don't worry, your's was almost brand new. What is the warranty, if I may ask? I tried asking "The Representative" (he hates me putting his name on here :S) who I got it from what it was, but because you were away on holiday (I think?) at that point, he said he'd wait 'til you got back before he committed to it. Was just curious :D Oh, and what's the state of play if I remove those stickers, but put some other ones on that say "Zona Zip" in their place? Or is it just that you'd lose the brand identity from the Zona Zip stickers on there at present? One last thing - I DON'T want to put ZOO stickers on there! I'm not a huge fan of ZOO! decals at all, and I don't really want to pretend I've got a ZOO! when I haven't. It doesn't matter to me that people will think I've bought a "copy" or couldn't afford the "real thing". I don't care at all :S

Burgundy. Burgundy, gold and silver look awesome. You will then have burgundy frame and silver/gold parts. Awesome.

Undo the cage bolts. Take the outer cage off. Break the spacers off the inner cage (they tend to get lodged on). Put the bolt so it goes through the outer cage, then slip the spacers on where it'd usually go. Do up without putting the inner cage on. More thread in the threaded holes = less chance of it slipping out. Less surface area of pedal = more grip. Everyone's happy :)

Didn't you get a new-style Levelboss about 2 minutes ago though?
-
Nah. They machined circles into the rim (so it was like a grind, only more consistent), but the brake only held one way (Y)\

Oh yeah - get the right sized washer, and you can bolt the tool into the BB interface, if you get me? When you apply pressure to a BB tool, it tends to jump out of the splined bit of the BB shell, but if you get a crank bolt, and a washer that'll stop the tool from going past the crank bolt, you can bolt it to the BB, so you can put more pressure on without worrying about it coming off.
-
Was waiting for that (Y) And call me silly, but if the booster was flexing as was the frame, wouldn't it have been the booster and frame flexing that was causing the "softness" in the lever feel?
-
Left side is normal thread, right side is reverse thread. Just remember that. If you can't get it off using the BB remover and a spanner, get a longer spanner. It just needs more force, generally, 'specially if it's not been greased up or anything...
