The latest person to join is member #18483 or something like that, so yeah, I think the 10,000 must be people who've accessed their account in the last _ days/weeks/months? Or just have posts to their names or something. I'd imagine there are probably up to 1,000 people who read/post/lurk every day though. Bearing in mind it's a pretty quiet time of day at the moment, there are 148 people online, not including guests/anonymou members, and I've known there to be over 700 people on at one time before.
