Danny Macaskill, the Ridge

"moments" :giggle:

I'm keen to visit somewhere in the UK like there, but obviously would require checking the forecast before hand.

There's really not much point to be honest. It's so changeable and forecasts are barely a rough guide. It'll change countless times in a day, and will often be the opposite of what has been forecast.

Check out the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04kntlk to the TV series and you can see when they hike up the ridge how it can change.

The thing is places like Skye suit all weather, obviously sun is great, but it's so impressive either way.

my step dad is very much into fell running/hiking/climbing etc, he says if you plan to do the cullins you should give yourself 2 weeks on skye to wait for a break in the weather. definatly going skye next year, a few of my step dads friends go for a week every year and sleep in bothies and drink whiskey. sounmds awesome to me.
