  1. Off topic, but didn't that have Nicole Kidman in it?
  2. Wow, now that is old. One of my friends brothers was sponsored by Trimble and all was going well until his carbon forks snapped and he ended up with a knackered back. I must say I love the bar and stem choice.
  3. I'm 26, got a girlfriend (soon to be wife in August), got a mortgage and a car. Nothing to worry about as long as you have an understanding(ish) family/girlfriend. I still ride twice or more times in a week and it definatly helps to keep me fit (most of the time). Keep at it and ride for the enjoyment. Jamie
  4. Cut a slot in the top and use a screw driver or file the edges flat and use an adjustable or molegrips work better than pliers.
  5. I've got a virtually unridden (6ish times) jack flash - the newest geo ones (395/74/0). The only marks are from storage. Lovely to ride only I prefer my control. Frame, headset, BB and really short seat post for £120 posted. PM me if you're interested/want pics. Cheers, Jamie
  6. Would be better if you could do it with a floating disc or caliper but getting that not to have any play in it would be a real challenge.
  7. Considering the amount of people going for lightweight stuff I'm suprised anyone wants one of these attached to their frames.
  8. I totally agree, I ride for enjoyment and to try and challenge myself. I do get frustrated if something doesn't go right but riding should be about enjoyment. I agree, you need people who are good at what they do and has the right balance of being big headed enough to know they are good but not to then tell the people who are trying that they are rubbish. You need someone who you can approach and who will approach you to have a chat/offer assistance. Personally, I think it would be hard to find one as he was there at the start of trials and helped shape it into what we know today. You may get somone who is exceptionally good and may take the sport to new levels but the Marti/yns helped make the sport accessable/moved it into the spot light (MBUK etc). I agree. In terms of making trials accessable and getting people together it is great - in terms of deciding on who is the best, there are too many opinions. In general, I don't think there will be another Ashton/Hawes as they were the first well known ambassadors of the sport in this country and they still are at it which is the most impressive bit. I met Ashton and his kid the other day in Porthcawl and he came over to us not us going to chat to him. Talk about approachable we hadn't even spotted him. He is one of the most down to earth people I've met especially when he starts talking about how he still struggles with a side hop in Swansea. Awesome to meet him and good luck to anyone who tries to follow in his footsteps. Also, I doubt anyone will have the backing from sponsers they did in the past. Jamie
  9. Halo (http://www.ison-distribution.com/ison/english/product.php?part=RMHAC62D) - as its for the front it shouldn't take too much abuse although they've probably improved recently. Jamie
  10. I won't be trying one (I like Hope) but I prefer them to the Industry Nine ones even though I haven't ridden either simply for the fact you can use standard spokes - although I don't often snap spokes I think that the hub looks more vunerable on the Industry Nine. As for the 120 engagements, what about two off set ratchet rings with two sets of two or three off set pawls. Jamie
  11. I'm with you as I like protection for the cross over hose.
  12. Possible not quite what you're looking for but it is awesome fun and not too heavy. Good as a play/jump/xc bike. Coyote dual slalom frame (15ish inch) but is a decent lendth - I was about 6 foot when I was riding it. RST 4" forks XT/D521 rear Specialized/D321 front grip shift DMR chieftan cranks - 32th chain ring and QPB bash. All in good nick and either rear v and front shimano deore disc or for a little bit more rear hope C2 and front M4 (awesome brake) looking aroung £175. Photo added. Cheers, Jamie
  13. You sure thats not broken. Had it x-rayed? If it isn't that is a good effort.
  14. Thats it. I've got one at the moment and was told it was a common rugby injury. I had the option of an op. but was told that it was mainly cosmetic so didn't bother. Took about 6 months to get it back to full strength but now it seems fine. It aches occasionaly if I sleep on it funny but that seems about all now. Hope it heals up well and you're back out soon.
  15. Sure it was based on Jamie Hibbard. I think it came as a free sticker as well.
  16. Yeah, I bet it does. 9ft bails aren't good.
  17. Roll it along the floor, wall, your leg. HAven't used the string since I got mine.
  18. Nice wheels - proper classic bike.
  19. As long as you use the same headset and forks. Also, how come it is sooo expensive because it is hydroformed. Scott have been using hydroforming for a few years now and you can get complete bikes for less than the cost of the Boxx. Nice frame though. Two frames?
  20. I've got a Planet X Jack Flash frame for £120. Ridden half a dozen times, couple of storage scratches. 1040ish wheelbase, 395 stays, level BB, 74 deg. head angle - nice and fun. PM me if you're interested/want photos.
  21. Having ridden a 1090 stock with a 74 deg. head angle, I would definatly go for a steeper head angle. Same BB rise or possibly +40. Probably in the region of 72.5 to get the best of both worlds. Looks like a cool frame though - get riding it.
  22. Wider BB shells like on some DH bikes (& Varios)? Would give better tyre clearance and still allow for short chain stays.
