  1. Very nice. Much prefer the white colour scheme. Aren't the dropouts/disc mount the same as Zebdi/Jack Flash ones? If so, the tabs are about 7mm thick.
  2. Regarding the riding on the pavement bit, I guess it depends upon the definition of a bicycle. If it's as per the british standards (which I can't get access to at the moment as I've lost my account) then most trials bikes wouldn't come under the specification but it could be the police use a more general description. I'm guessing that's where the 20" thing may come into play.
  3. I've got a 203 hayes disc with an Avid BB5 and an sd7 lever. It's much more powerful than the 185 avid disc I was running with it before. I wouldn't say it's the most on/off brake ever but I think that's down to the 13 stone it's having to stop.
  4. £84 doesn't sound too unreasonable. £30 for wheel builds £20 for spokes Leaves £34 for two rims and Tarty's cheapest ones (26") are £20 each or £17.50 (20/19") and that's a 2006 Echo rear. So your local bike shop is actually cheaper - as long as the parts are comparable and they are good wheel builders. And that's not counting the postage to/from Tarty.
  5. Or Planet-X BMFs come in 36h (same as a DX 32)
  6. They have a T-rex in their Uplands branch in Swansea (I used to work there). Give them a ring and ask them if they'll do it for £500 - they can be nice on occasion (the insurance replacement department). Or order a new sidekick frame and a few parts - they do deal with DMR. Also, hastle the police.
  7. I used to like a 1.8 Panaracer on the front with a light wheel but having switched to a slightly heavier front wheel I prefer a 2.2 Specialized (at the moment). Even though it's heavier, I does feel a lot bouncier and I get blown around in the wind less. I'm getting more tempted to get a 2.35 high roller to match my 2.5 one on the back.
  8. For those of you who like them have a look at http://www.component-force.co.uk/product_menu.php?id=2

    Q. If you were to spell out numbers, how far would you have to go untilyou would find the letter "A"? A. One thousand Surely 'one hundred and one' has an 'a' in it and if it didn't it wouldn't make sense. You can say 'one hundred one' but it sounds a bit stupid.
  10. Sounds good. I'm one of the ones from Swansea Danny refers to. Any where's good as long as it's not too far North. I wouldn't mind trying Aberystwyth as that's only about 2ish hours. Either that or we're out most weekends. Cheers, Jamie
  11. Fair play for trying. I remember riding a 21" Carrera Optima for dirt jumping and then using it for trials. It was useless to ride but still great fun to ride. With enough determination you can ride anything. I can still remember Tim Steadman riding old Saracen frames untill they died and then he'd find/borrow something else 'till that died. Now he's one of the best riders I know. If you can find any of the old old Tials Punks videos they're well worth a watch. It's all in the determination.
  12. Try Titec 'Big Al' or 'Lil Al' stems. I've got a 120mm 8 degree rise one but they may go longer and they are pretty strong.
  13. What about GU? Is it G-U or Goo? Personally, G-U. If you know what I mean.
  14. Send your double walls back to the importer and they should warrenty them FOC - it does help if you have the receipt but they may do it if you speak nicely to them. Echo forks are good.
  15. Fair play - what else can you say
  16. Their terms and conditions are superb. "We may also add or remove any product listed as an incentive at any time. If we replace a product, the new product may not be of equal value. We reserve the right to change the products or offers at any time, for any reason. " If you're lucky, instead of an Ipod, you'll get a chocolate tea pot. "8. Good luck - you may get something.
  17. Club Roost - The Push. Brilliant pedals. Over a year of use and I've lost one pin! Get them from chain reaction - I know they're a bit pricy but they work!
  18. I'm running Saints on an echo control - 68mm BB shell. Seems to fit fine. I got the single ring ones and swaped the ring. As for the larger bash, I expected it to be a problem (I also expected the huge arms to be a problem) and as yet I haven't noticed much difference - although I do try and use neither.
  19. Tim Steadman uses the Diablous ones and he hasn't had any problems as yet and personally I can recommend the Shimano Saints (although I've only used them for a couple of weeks) as they feel sooo much stiffer than Middleburns ever did. As for the bashguard, the Blackspire looks lovely on the Saints. I never thought I'd recommend Shimano parts to anyone especially over Middleburn. As for the Race Face they look equally as good and they take a battering.
  20. We're doing the same in Swansea, look at the topic I started, there is a link to what we're doing or send me an e-mail and I'll try and run through what we're doing. Cheers, Jamie
  21. I've just got myself a set of Saint cranks and I can recommend a Blackspire bash guard - it looks lovely. They even fit on an '04 Control which I was surprised at.
  22. Yep, I'm 25 (was 24 when it happened) and on the 4th of Jan I was out riding and did a 6ft gap and something in my lower back felt like it went pop/snap. As I landed I couldn't stand up straight without leaning heavily on my bars. I was in agony for the next couple of days - I couldn't believe it hurt so much when I hadn't even fallen off. Four days later, after it had eased up a bit, I went for a massage with a bloke who was recommended to me and it felt sooo much better. Didn't ride for another week and went back to see him and after that it seems fairly ok. Tried riding yesterday and it ached a little bit but more like the muscles hadn't been used for a while. Managed a couple of 42" taps and nearly side hopped it and did a 50" hook and it feels fine today even after cleaning out my gutters and moving a double bed round in the evening. I've found that making sure you stretch before you ride does help a lot. My body isn't as flexible as it once was. Jamie
