Had to make a 5 minute documentary for Uni. I'm much better at narrative films, but for a first go I think this went okay. The initial aim of the film was to investigate why we do extreme sports, and also take a brief look at the work of a local charity called 'Giving Young People Opportunities', who help to fund and build skate/bmx facilities in the Grimsby/Cleethorpes area. I didn't want myself to be in the video at all, but I couldn't use a camera from Uni unless I had consent forms signed by parents of anyone under 18: therefore interviews investigating why we do extreme sports went straight out the window So now it features me riding my bike for those bits instead, enjoy. I made one out of some wood off an old pallet. Wasn't very thick, but it worked fine for about 5 months - until it snapped. But for a 5 minute bodge job it was fine!

I have to say parkour always struck me as being a lot more fluid and poetic - more like 'the art of motion', but this looked so forced. I guess the moment parkour is brought into competition it is no longer parkour anyway, but what Danny was doing looked more fluid than them!

If 2012 does happen I hope the special effects are as good as the movie, just with a better story-line.

I can make it down for one of the days, not sure how much riding I'll be doing. Would it be alright if I filmed most of this? I'm doing a short little documentary on bmx/trials/dirt/general extreme sports at the minute and it would be good to get some footage.

In order to prevent anti-social behaviour from children in the upcoming winter months the council have announced they will spend £4million on new vehicles to patrol the streets in the snow and scare them off. The Gary Gritters will be on the roads from December.

I'm guess they are probably going to edit it together with some footage of the event, which is why its taking so long. If that is not the plan then they really need to get on it, they are missing out on a lot of potential viewers.

Mental video! You can certainly see where his epic comp skills come to help him, it just goes to show that all kinds of riding compliment each other. Those hop 360s were scary though, his back wheel was hanggggggggggging.

Got a discount on that when I bought my player. They look stunning mate Exactly. It seems to be everything Nolan touches turns to gold. On that note you might as well add Memento and The Prestige to your list of films, I only have them on DVD but I imagine they would look great in HD. No Country for Old Men and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon look fantastic in HD too.

I honestly cannot work out what you are unhappy with, I would be stoked to be landing stuff as well as you do. Maybe its my eyes being funny but did you speed it up?

I tried static drop tuck no handers in the summer - they did not go well, especially considering I can't do tuck no handers anyway That is the only real goal as such that I have at the moment, the rest is just get smoother, more fluid and have fun.

Had snow up to my ankles today. 60 cars got stuck on a road near me last night. I've opted not to drive considering the amount of accidents I saw, and the two near crashes I had driving to college: One where somebody came too fast behind me and was going to slide into me if I didn't mount the curb and pull into someone's drive, and then when I was on a mini roundabout someone who should have been giving way was going to slide out in to the back of my car, so I had to floor it and go straight on as opposed to going slowly around and taking the next exit. Both would have been fairly hairy, and I had £2k of camera equipment I had rented from college in the back! Taking the trucks off my all terrain board and going down the hills almost makes up for all this though
