  1. I want to see more cheap car road trips, like the Botswana one.

Hugs man. I guess it's better than dragging it out for a month, but that doesn't necessarily make it any easier to accept. Good on you for getting it over with though, I don't think I'd have the balls to break it off, even if I was certain that after the break that it wouldn't work out.
  3. Why bother boring it out from 2.9 to 3.0l? That'll cost you for new pistons, rings, and the rebore, and will only add 3.4% displacement. Can't they be taken out any bigger?
  4. I had no idea you do driving lol. Our kid would probably take you up on this.
  5. I don't think they ever will be. SSDs are too expensive to produce in large sizes. By the time 2tb SSDs are out (and affordable), 10tb hard drives will be around. I think they'll stop being in regular use for desktop users though, but for server use I reckon they'll always be around. But, I hope I'm proved wrong.
  6. Yeh it's awesome. I had one in the laptop I bought for my final year of uni (then sold to my missus when I was done). I put a 128gb Samsung M4 in it, and then moved the 1tb hdd into that tray thingy. It's stupidly fast, far faster than my desktop in everyday stuff. (Not gaming or heavy workloads).
  7. All SSDs are 2.5". Yes you can buy an enclosure for the HDD, or even better, one of these. That will allow you to move your DVD drive into the supplied USB caddy, and the hard drive into the tray it comes with, and then install the SSD in the native slot.

I go climbing up there every now and again, tis a lovely place to be. Midges are torture in summer though.
  9. Don't miss it, do it.
  10. Been training a lot the last couple of weeks, I can now do a couple of V2s down at the wall, but there is still 1 V1 and 2/3 V1/V2s that I can't manage. It's been over 30C in there every night I've been though, so hopefully when it cools down I'll be able to sweat less, get better friction, not have to grip as hard and therefore climb harder. That's the plan anyway. Might help if I lose more weight as well. Down from 212lbs to 201lbs so far. Not a big loss but I feel stronger...

Hathersage is a town, that is a crag. Looks like Higgar Tor? Possibly bits of Burbage North?

They'll warp or wobble around as soon as the cutting tip touches it. I'd do it by hand with an angle grinder.

Turning rotors is very difficult because they're never flat, however if you spin the wheel, scribe a line then grind down to that they'll be fine. Or, just pull the wheel back 2.5mm and use a little tensioner. That's what I did on my 08 Echo Lite: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/123188-my-echo-lite/

I was commenting on the people replying to Sam's post. You didn't, so I wasn't even aiming it at you. Change your own. Meh fair enough, I'll admit I lost my temper again. Just seemed like that was the case and I really f**king hate it. When I read the thread, I saw Sam complaining then several people seemingly pointing out that they were worse off. My rant wasn't directly aimed at this thread, more triggered by them. There's several people I now avoid who used to be close friends because I don't enjoy socialising with people who have to prove they're worse off than you all the time.

There appear to be a lot of sandy fannies in here... Wtf have your lives got to do with Sam Kidney's? This is a constant annoyance to me. "This is wrong with my life", "Yeh well I am/was worse off". And? Either offer some guidance or pipe down. Not one person has said "I found I felt like that for a while, but this helped". It seems likes I can't mention my experiences at Uni without someone seeing is as a competition to see who hated it the most, so I rarely bother now, apart from people I know actually want to hear the answer to the question, "How's uni going/gone?" Sam, does sound like a pretty shit situation in some ways, but try to see the positives. You've got an awesome bunch of mates who chase you up all the time to do stuff with them, and a decent apprenticeship and prospects of buying a car. Once you have the car, you could spend more time at your Dad's and therefore more time with your mates, plus it'd open up far more opportunities for riding in different areas with different people.
  16. Methinks they're kinda flogging a dead horse these days... Do they really expect us to believe they just used an airport without permission, or set up a street circuit in a town having not asked anyone if it was OK? Gah. As an engineer at heart, seeing something done any worse than as good as it can be pisses me off. That episode was far worse than it could have been.
  17. I have another one, Blink 182. I loved them when I was a kid, and still enjoy listening to them every now and again, even though 90% of their songs are cheesey skaterboy pop-rock tat.
  18. My Dad has carpet tiles, really do take the edge off when you're kneeling down in February.
  19. Yeh? Well I had a BMX at 950. Suck it.
  20. Amateur! I had a Zona Zip with T-Pro forks and a very worn chain so I had to angle the slaves down to reach the rim, measured at 1075.
  21. Another pretty boring episode... I watched the US roadtrip this morning (I woke up super early because of the daft hot weather) and found it waaayyyy more enjoyable.
  22. Is it feck. Real mods are at least 1050.
  23. Not if it had siezed, which is very common with TI bolts in aluminium. (I found anyway, which lead to me going back to all stainless steel). Anyway, glad it's sorted.

Bloody heat. Glad I didn't go climbing today because I'd have been feeling even worse if I'd been outside moving about in the sun.
