  1. It's reynolds 531 I think. Just to clarify, it has been welded again but I know it's just gonna crack again, the seatpost is thinnn. I'm going to say 2 rides.
  2. Well after scratching the shizer out of it with a file.. I wrapped the tape around the join as practiced, it came out a bit messier than I had hoped but the main thing is that it holds.. I'm going to build this up tomorrow, it does ride nice and the rest of the frame is really quite good. Excited to ride my old frame again woohoo! any (educated) bets on how long it'll last?
  3. Might as well brav, I've done a dry run with the tape and there's a way of doing a dope wrap, it's probably gonna break the frame somehow though.
  4. I don't know much about welding, maybe a pro welder on here could do a better job than my local welders ha.
  5. I get it welded and it keeps on cracking, it's quite thin tubing,. and yes the one and only W.I.P
  6. I'm about 1/4 way through roughing up the area to be repaired, there is a crack around the bottom of the seatpost and it turns out to be quite a tricky area to fix.. I'm thinking maybe wrap the tape around the bb area then try and support the bit where the downtube and seatpost meet, and just wrap it really tight? After a recent mishap I have realised that the carbon tape is so strong it will crack the rest of the frame, so I wanna try and keep most of the wrap tightly around the join I think. Do you think it wlil work? wish me luck.
  7. Volunteer at care homes and give blood, some lovely girls doing that
  8. If he's terminally ill and wants to die then you'd be helping the person out and this should be encouraged. But if he's healthy his life could be bad now but there's still plenty of chance he will pull through and be ok afterwards. So think about what your doing
  9. Here's a pretty relevant piece if the thing you love doing involves a semiconductor.. http://www.takepart.com/article/2014/01/09/conflict-minerals-and-you? Intel CEO Brian Krzanich article: "We felt an obligation to implement changes in our supply chain to ensure that our business and our products were not inadvertently funding human atrocities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo," he continued. "Even though we have reached this milestone, it is just a start. We will continue our audits and resolve issues that are found." So by not wanting to let others die as a result of your actions, things generally get better, so maybe not stopping what you love doing but adjusting how you do it so that no one is killed seems like a good compromise?
  10. It depends on whether the thing you love doing directly or indirectly kills someone else, otherwise the question is just fluff. And in that case, yes I would stop.
  11. When Alexander the Great said to Diogenes of Sinope, "Had I not been Alexander, I should have liked to be Diogenes." So yea about 340BC

  17. Crestomer is the strongest stuff I know of, it can handle a bit of flex so would be worth a try.
  18. Me too, we are definitely going to heaven with great attitudes like ours
  19. You love a good hit of endorphins though, right?
  20. Your style in this vid really shows that you are mastering the bicycle, which is what its all about for me, impressive stuff!
  21. Dunno about you, but the words 'straight edge' sounds like a sort of homophobic, nationalist uprising kind of name. A life of sobriety is a very cool choice though, everything's just fine as it is.
  22. Get some german para boots from a surplus store and a few sets of long johns and your bottom half will be sorted.
