  1. Not sure if you've noticed, but there are people out there who don't even think that it's real, so it's important to first get everyone on board with the reality. No one wants it to be true, and many people reject change, even (supposedly well eductated) people latching on to some skeptical documentary, well known for bending the truth, in light of all the peer reviewed evidence. But in TFs case, it's mainly the guys with their head so far up Clarksons ass that all they can see is bullshit.
  2. A senior british scientist has recently gone public about the whole situation on the bbc, which is nice.
  3. People have a whole host of personalities. I'd argue that our greed has been magnified through growing up in a post Friedman/Thatcher/Reagan economic era, which has reshaped society a lot since the 80s. They preached that "Greed is Good", of course that's gonna make people greedy. I hear old timers say you used to be able to leave your door open, no one would nick anything.. what went wrong? Seems people got greedy to me, and when there are cultures all over the world that aren't greedy, I wouldn't say it was natural. Evolution isn't just survival of the fittest, in many cases, cooperation is needed to survive.
  4. But that last sentence is an assumption based purely on your imagination ie the earth is a complex system, inherently chaotic, like the butterfly effect small changes that happen now can affect the outcome drastically when you run time forward.
  5. Earth's climate is well understood, it has been studied back to 500 million years. What people are talking about is climate CHANGE. gah
  6. If David Attenborough was in charge, heaven would be on earth.. http://youtu.be/P_mY1orxgHw
  7. You're right, the evidence is overwhelming, it's such a depressing thought I try not to think about it and just consume as little as I possibly can, sometimes thinking of ways to dissolve out a house in a limestone cliff using carbonic acid, (i think it uses CO2!), study renewable energy, write to politicians about investing in green jobs ect, try and learn as much as i can so that i make better decisions, (which works!)
  8. Geo engineering has been talked about alot in recent years, scientists have proposed releasing titanium dioxide nanoparticles into the atmosphere like a giant aerosol to increase the Earths albido, reflecting more sunlight and cooling the planet down. These ideas have next to no support though and are currently seen only as a very last resort. Titanium dioxide destroys fishes brains so first they need to find a more benign compound that is also very white, I hate the idea personally and think we can avoid all this if we all work together. Edit - All as in everybody on the planet, instead of the global economic race we have gotten ourselves into. Other than that, the atmosphere can produce all sorts of lines and shapes and jets with changing temperature/pressure/humidity, which are very pretty and yet another wonder that makes life great
  9. It's mad how so many people don't spot the difference between scientific evidence and
  10. The weather was nice yesterday, here's Drei getting sideways.. cheers Rich!
  11. Every cell in our body replicates every seven or so years and every time they do, mutations happens to the dna in that cell, (dna is literally pulled in half during cell division,) during the next replication, the mutations are copied with even more 'fresh' mutations on top of that, most of the time the mutations are harmless but you can see easily how death is exponential and why we don't see 'freaks' living to 200+. External factors also play a huge part in this too.
  12. related news now on hard talk..http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/
  13. There's more tar in weed, so it's more filthy on your lungs, 1 joint is like the equivalent of 5 fags or something. There's a group called normL that are campaigning for legalisation, back a while there was another group called clear that wanted to make loads of money out of legalising it and gained quite a following because they seemed legit and professional with plans for how the uk would make 6 billion in tax by exaggerating the figures to win support, anyway it turns out the party leader Peter Reynolds was basically a nazi and lost all support for his plan in a matter of months, medicinal cannabis users wanted someone nice to represent them and so it was hilarious to watch that guy get ripped off his horse kicking and screaming.
  14. Line the inside of the pipe from this video with the stuff and it should keep flowing with water.. http://youtu.be/OS1KXMsE2qk
  15. You're right, calculators nowadays are amazing..
  16. Multiply your 1st term by r squared, now try r cubed, now r^4, it should be the same as each term in your sequence.
  17. He confesses to doping upto 2005 but denies doping in 2009 and 2010. Keep digging Lance you compulsive liar, haha.

  20. If they get too hot put in some bigger ones, but not too big or you start to dim the leds. This just looks impossible haha!
  21. It was also in part to do with a shit weld where part of it was under 1mm thick and possibly because the high rise bars give your efforts some extra leverage on this weld.. it was a funny crash though. I'd recommend, if you are going to do it, to take time to make sure you only need to open it the minimum amount necessary to get the bars through.
  22. You what? Where did you get that idea? These things have no wheels, so you're just retarding yourself, at least put some springs on them or something.
  23. I guess you could just replicate more replicators. This idea has been around since the birth of nanotechnology and it's still a long way off. However there has been some recent breakthroughs in this field, with the use of nanoparticles. It seems the little things can boil water using only diffuse sunlight and also supply immuno-resetting drugs to the right part of the body, which should cure diseases like MS and other autoimmune diseases. Plus so many other amazing things that nanotech is helping with.
