Haha, it'll be on Pistonheads first! Might do a cross-post with RR, keep the cool kids in the know. It's properly awesome, even if it did do £120 in 300 miles...

I don't think you quite get the significance of the date. Cheers for the support, i'll put a facebook event up tomorrow

Saw Leon hop up a toilet block on southend sea front in 2003/4? Still here nearly 10 years later haha.

Gig in Manchester saturday was brilliant, ended up with a 15-piece band and three drummers for the last song. Allllllll gooooooooooood.

Hey guys! It's that time of year again. Have just heard from Sue who's more than happy to have the ride go ahead, and will be in attendance with Charlie and hopefully Sam and Adam if they're about. Main ride will take place on sunday 12th May, meeting at Portsmouth Guildhall from 10am, ride will probably get underway about 11am after the standard pictures-on-the-steps. As per usual, anyone and everyone is welcome to join the fun just spare some space in your mind for what the day's all about. Whether you want to pay your respects with old friends or just be a part of the biggest street ride in the UK, get yourself down. There will also be a chilled session or two on the saturday for anyone who arrives early and wants to make a day of it, but PLEASE attend the sunday if you can only make one day!! Big love, see you in May. Matt

14th's midweek anyway, it'll be the weekend before or after.
-
Not really, the whole point of this ride is that it's around the 14th of May. I see your point though, just loses some meaning if it's completely at the wrong time. We usually do it over the whole weekend anyway which ends up with some people not bothering to stay for the main ride Sunday, so adding another day to dissipate it even more might be even more counter-productive. I'll text Sue today and let y'all know what's up.

I spent £44 on a guitar strap today and couldn't give less of a f**k. So gangster.

Been some pretty brutal photos of injuries etc, horrible stuff. Agree with Dave completely, choice of target is sickening.

My Land Rover will rape the A3. -
Does that include the shopping in the footwell?
-
Yeah man, i've been meaning to sort this out - been crazy busy. Gimme a bit, just want to run it by Sue out of respect first, as per usual. Will probably be the 12th may.

All about environment. Most days, i've got a niggle at the back of my mind trying to bring down or just straight up put me out of action but for the most part i'm in a pretty decent place with some quality mates who know how to keep me happy. It wins sometimes and i've had runs of a good few weeks of just not having the motivation to get out of the house. I wouldn't say i'm ever really depressed or anything though, just set to melancholy by default after the past couple of years i guess. My girlfriend's had full bore depression a few times though, and as far as i can gather from her and other people who've had it, it really can be as simple as waking up in the morning and feeling like a completely different person but then in the same stroke it can go just as quickly. You'll come out of it, just try and monitor it. If it's all getting a bit much, talk to someone you trust. Even just knowing people are there for you could probably help. Eat well, sleep well, clean your room up and get yourself out the house. You'll get there in the end dude.

Sounds decent! Won't be back at uni yet so no commitments. Have we decided a location yet? -

*massive argument. tl;dr you don't care when i try and help you etc* i know that feeling, i've been doing it with you for the past year but i know you appreciate so i don't give up on you, maybe you could try that too instead of telling me i'm wrong about how i'm doing things and that you've given up trying to be helpful s am just gonna have a go at me instead now. "i'm sick to death of talking to you, night" Ok...?
-
Seconded! Will be very interested to hear that.

Sort of! Locally and within a few Ford circles it's pretty well known, was more referring to family/ family friends etc. Posted a couple of pages back (not sure if you saw it) i've won a comp with Pistonheads and am going to building a replica of my dad's x-pack in memory of him. Any time anyone i know mentions him, the capri's usually one of the first stories to come out so it'll be cool to have another one! I know where the original is, but it's not gonna be up for sale any time soon. It's also not gonna be sensible money When mine's built though, i might propose a swap with the owner as they will essentially be the same car... Gonna be building this; Funny you mention the RS3100 though, dad had a genuine one of those before the Mk3.
-
10/10 on the DVD choice!
-
Haha, nah - it might get a V8 at some point in the future but it kinda kills what Capri's are all about when you start bolting spinny bits on - needs to be a big N/A! (or supercharged, maybe...) Ideally i want to do some engine work in the way of boring it out to 3.1, high lift cam and putting some triple webbers on a la dad's/ a proper x-pack would've had, but Essex V6's are so f**king expensive to tune for very little gain. It's already got a full Janspeed stainless system on it which is nice, though. I've also got some gas flowed mild road heads in the garage which i might fit, need a good going over though. Plan is; Full RS X-Pack body conversion with an RS Turbo wing on the back 13x7.5 ET19 RS 4 spokes with some good rubber (probably gonna run JBW ones as i can probably get them free/ cheap, and they're f**king HUGE. Stick out by a good inch or two on RS200 Escorts) Bilstein coilovers and shocks (conveniently a mate has a spare set, as you do...) and RS single leaf rear springs. Probably drop the lot by 2" or so. Anti-dive kit up front Paint it the brightest white i can find. If i can get it looking right and sounding right for now i'll be very very happy, can give it the performance to match down the line The suspension was the most important bit to the original i think, or it's the bit everyone remembers most anyway, so that's high on the to-do list.

World's best A3 getting better? Turns out we're dealing with the guy who owns Flux. Apparently insurance is "just a technicality, don't worry about it" so i'm picking up that black Capri on the 21st Somewhat excited.
-
I do, yeah - just a total fanny to sort out. I'm gonna chat to Paul from Pistonheads later and see if he's got any ideas - just can't see it going down well with them that there's gonna be nothing in the way of driving content for a year! Maybe when my renewal and no claims comes up it'll be considerably cheaper... We'll see.

Re; insuring two cars. Is there anywhere that'll do them both on the same policy? There is no way i'm paying 4 grand for the pair of them...
