  1. This is what i'm thinking. It's never gonna be dad's one, no matter how cool/ good i could make it. It's so useable at the moment, too - i never realised how wide the x-packs actually come up. Fitted some 8" Revolutions yesterday and it was comical how far they stuck out of the arches. How do I park a car like that in town?! I'm sorely tempted to just plow my money into the mechanical bits and pieces, really - have it as a tidy S with a bit of a kick. Seen a lot of BOA Capris and none have really been "right", all a bit too boy racer. Wanna make this subtle and nice and awesome. Also really want to bore the 2.9 out to 3.0 so i can answer the "what engine has it got" questions with "it's a 3ltr V6" when the purists start nosing around When's Kylie getting fettled, anyway?
  2. Went to Pistonheads' Sunday Service today, was a proper good turn out! Really worth going to if the next one's local to anyone - mad mix of cars. I'll stick some pictures up tomorrow. Also added 300 miles to the Capri, had a lot of car-thinking time and i'm massively inclined to long off the x-pack conversion (just as i've got all the parts in the garage...) and restore it a bit instead. There's not much major needing doing to bring it right up to scratch bar a re-spray, so i think going all OEM+ on it could be the future. If old Ford prices keep going the way they are this'll cover me a deposit on a house in a few years given good 3.0 S' are going for 10k+ already. Means more money to go to the good stuff, too! Gonna get new struts on this month which means big brakes, followed by a few other choice bits and pieces. Means i could potentially bring the Cosworth powaaa in a lot sooner than planned, too, and keep the original running gear for when the inevitable man with a beard offers me £40k for it one day. I'll be back to thinking x-pack tomorrow i'm sure
  3. They were out and out comp bikes though...
  4. Think i've found some wheels to add to the stock cupboard. 13x8" Revolution splits, get in my belly/ garage. Will still leave me with tyre issue down the line, but f**k it. YOLO etc.
  5. Where can i get some really wide 14/15s from? Lips need to be really deep and nothing seems to be satisfying me so far. Don't wanna have to go for banded steels either... These (http://www.midlandwheels.com/Shop/P-6840-7.5x-13-JBW-RS-4-Spoke-Black-Machined.html) were my original plan, but it seems the widest 13" tyre i can get is a 205 which is total balls.
  6. Word go the wise; don't let fuses blow when you're holding them between your fingers. faaaaark.
  7. Is that Ali on the back? f**king mental, Europe holds many secrets.
  8. I used to run that, never got called out by the fashion police.
  9. Yeah, Titanium really is known for being weak as shit - i don't see the point either
  10. Best mate just got back from 6 months travelling and brought me back a mod-tastic perfectly tailored purple suit from Vietnam. Stoked.
  11. That looks f**king awesome
  12. What's the circumstances of the one they're trying to do you for Jamie? The "i need it for work" one seems to go quite well from friends' experiences.
  13. Yeah, got a donor card in my wallet. All came from being with my ex actually; she had a really shit heart and i figured i'd like her to get a new one if she needed it, so put my money where my mouth is so to speak! Worth doing, you won't need it when you're dead.
  14. Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay is a good album.
  15. I heard there was some terminal rot and you scrapped it for a few hundred quid...
  16. Cheers for the advice Jardo/ Adam, regarding shit discs; would i really notice that when cornering? It's a known problem with 3ltr Capri but i'd have thought it'd only really be noticeable when braking? I'll be swapping them for a Hi-Spec kit asap anyway so not too fussed. Paul, that one bid better be you!!! Also, write up number 2; http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=27975
  17. playing to potentially 1000 people tonight. excited and shitting myself all at once. yay, i think...
  18. anyone near Daventry by any chance? just accidentally an RS Turbo rear wing...
  19. Ah cool, cheers! It's it's a weird one, bit of a shake - feels like your driving over cats eyes that are trying to pull the wheel left over every bump when you turn right. Does it under hard braking too. Will check the prop, never thought the two would be connected haha!
  20. Capri, landy's significantly better behaved than that haha! It'll go sideways but only if you ask it to, this was a full on "euurgh, AAAAHHH" moment. Bad remoulds are bad, can't wait to get some serious rubber on it.
  21. I've been there man, i've been there... I remedied it by throwing in a load of rum, it was interesting to say the least.
  22. Mo' bite/ grip, surely? Nearly had a bit of a mishap last night in a massive downpour, leaving a roundabout at about 20mph in 3rd, understeer on the way in followed by more than enough oversteer coming out and i was being very gentle. People look quite scared when there's 16ft of metal coming at them sideways! Cheap tyres are not the one, i know where my first pay of the summer is going. Also, got a funky judder coming from the steering, only at high-ish speeds and only when turning left... Ideas? Tracking and wheel balance seems to be ok, wheel bearings are fine.
  23. you don't look like a complete f**ktard riding one, for starters.
  24. Yeeeeeah judders! Can only echo Ross, i'm getting itchy feet too.
