Yeah man, part of me feels bad, but then again i want this to be utterly flawless and with that, it will be. Dad's was based on a 3.0 Ghia, so it's a pretty close base. I've also still got a set of stage 2 heads for an Essex V6 in the garage! I'm sure there'll be a group of people wanting to lynch me, but i think there's still just enough clean original ones to offset this. Spoke to my uncle earlier, looks like i'm going to be using parts from the same guys dad did, so it's nice to be following the footsteps so close. Also learning all sorts of little bits and pieces about it which i didn't know before, so it's gonna be spot on.

Good ones are few and far between - i feel a little guilty about effectively destroying a pretty desirable model, but it's the perfect base for the build and one that's not going to disintegrate like most do. We'll see what happens. I'm looking forward to the 250 mile drive home in it if it does work out, though EDIT; that's where i'm hoping the situation's going to work in my favour - it's going to be a show car and Flux are the ones giving me the cash to buy it. I know where the original is, unfortunately for me it's in a very loving home and will be staying there for the considerable future i think I'll chat tot he guy though and see if i could persuade him to let it go, i know it's not been on the road for a very long time (but is still awfully well looked after!)
