  1. A nice man tried to drive me into the central reservation of the M25 last night at 80mph. A. it's a crazy world out there so y'all need to watch yourselves B. I need some better brakes.
  2. Fair enough, just speaking from experience it's well worth finding out if it's viable first - I spent 3 years building my landy and throwing a great big turbo diesel in it, then found out only one insurer would even consider covering me.
  3. Hate to piss on your chips man, but have you checked insurance quotes on any of those conversions? Seem to remember you're only 17 or so?
  4. Having pissed about with that method before, jeeeeeeeesus. Nice work mate, that's incredible.
  5. SD7 arms are more than up to it, anything will do as long as it's got one-piece arms. Ultimates are the way to go, but i'd not get them new. They come up second hand quite a lot. Slick cable, correct pads for what you're after and a booster are key...
  6. You must be new here! And that Echo up there... what the f**k.
  7. That, mostly Josh does a good job, but he's not paid for years of prototypes, setting up the jigs, woking things out with manufacturers, going over and over designs and ironing out all the niggles i know they've had. Any copy would still be a nice bike, but they're not gonna be a patch on the real deal.
  8. Agreed. I would post my old Leeson 'cos that was beautiful, but it's nothing on those.
  9. Yeah that was with me stripping down everything like the door handles, mirrors, lights, bumpers etc etc. To be fair, when it comes for paint it won't have the doors on for a start so taking the boot and bonnet off as well would be no biggy. Just want it painting white on the outside. With the car as it is, i'm quite happy to leave stuff like the engine bay, underside and interior black as it'll compliment the white nicely and save on hours of f**king about. The shell should be 90% ready for paint when it comes to it i think, all the panels bar the roof, doors, bonnet and boot will have been prepped already. Wraps look decent but how long do they realistically last? £1200 every few years isn't something i'm down for! I think i'm just gonna do the mechanicals to start with, then can do the bodywork when i've stacked some serious p.
  10. Been following your stuff on Facebook, Luis - seems like you had an absolute blast! Been going well here, ta! Just been plugging away and getting on with things, dragging ourselves all over the country and it all seems to be paying off for now. Cool for Cats Records (sub-division of Fierce Panda) are releasing a single for us on vinyl November time which'll be pretty cool! Made it past the "1000-likes" milestone on faceook as well which is kind of sweet, i appreciated it anyway. Got a session from us on BBC introducing up at the moment, have a look https://www.facebook.com/theartclubband Got a few weeks off now to try and catch up with uni and stuff, then more London and Brighton things followed by the end-of-year party at Lancaster Uni which we're playing with The Crookes, should be a big 'un!
  11. 50g is like 2 packets of crisps man.
  12. Not yet no, but that is a very, very good shout. It's gonna be partially going over fibreglass which as i understand it can have certain "issues" such as paint crazing if you do it wrong, or the panels themselves distorting a little after fitment, but i guess that a wrap could eliminate that problem. I guess the only problem would be that you can't get it in anything remotely shiny though? Unless that's possible now, i've only ever seen it done with matte/ satin colours... Will look into the DVLA/ insurance issues though, not something i've really considered before - surely it just changes on the logbook? Same car at the end of the day, just a different colour completely. I know that signwriting and race graphics can cause problems though. I'm just absolutely baffled by that quote, i really can't comprehend what that's based on.
  13. Yeah, i wouldn't want to seriously f**k up wearing one. I love mine to bits though, seriously comfy and looks pretty decent too. I sanded down the top pad so it sits really low too, no complaints.
  14. They wanted £2.5K to prep and paint the car Ford Frozen White and i guess clear-coat it or something, removing the windows, boot, doors and bonnet, with me stripping the rest. I picked my jaw up and said i'd call him back, something tells me that's a liiiiiiiittle pricey? Was also looking at the best part of a grand to do all the bodywork which incorporates cutting out all the rear arches and tubbing it out to take big f**k-off rimzz, doing all the fibreglass work and filler to fit the rear arches and as far as i can gather the fronts i have are just bolt-on jobs. That's something i'm a little more ok with though; despite it still being pretty expensive i can guarantee he'll do a very good job of it and it's not something i want to go f**king about with. Still got another guy to phone tomorrow, it just seems to be 100% retro ford wanker tax which isn't something i'm keen on - that money needs to go elsewhere, i'm on a pretty tight budget! If it's something you could hook a brother up with, I can get the car up there no problem and give you maaaaaajor props on pistonheads and all the rest of it. The "original" was sprayed by my uncle in a lock-up and the paint on that was perfect. I've sprayed a few things at dad's old place with 2pk and stuff, and i really ams truggling to get my head around where that figure came from, and more importantly who actually pays that kind of price. He seems very good, but not £3500-all-in good. I could buy another f**king car for that.
  15. Does anyone know of anyone who can spray a car? Just got quoted a million pounds, would like to do it on the very cheap...
  16. Driving to Bournemouth in the sun today just because. Long drives with the wife make me happy.
  17. The Fresh ones are a lot longer - feel really nice too. If you can find one, go for it.
  18. Hey man, i'm just a patient future customer
  19. The way it was written came across as you implying that you took him to be a standard EDL member, though. The internet's a shit place if you don't make complete sense at all times...
  20. Yeah i agree, skins back in the day weren't racist and i know a lot of people who still subscribe to the whole mod/ skin life who are decent guys - it's just been adopted by a small group of people and is now seen as something derogatory.
  21. Looking good ben, can still see you dwarfing it... What forks are they? (unless they're "those" forks than have needed some extra testing or something)
