As someone running 3 miles of stackers, i'd piss myself laughing if i snapped my steerer. I find it completely unfathomable that anyone could ever do it. Yeah you might have a little more leverage but the fact of the matter is that the large majority is still held perfectly tight inside the headtube. I've known steerers to give, and it's always at the crown race - when do they ever break above the ht?!

Just had a really nice poo.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaan i miss you lot and bikes big style. Need the new 'un sorted asap.

Another vote for this. My Landy really isn't your usual show n' shine car, but it's epically different to all the rest, is f**king quick for what it is and gets as much if not more attention than a lot of other cars out there. I'm probably sat at about £8k in that car after the latest episode, but would i change it? Like f**k. I know all the nuts and bolts, i know how everything went together, i know what's good, i know what i need to keep an eye on, i know where every little rattle i need to sort out is coming from, i know how to drive it to stop it jumping out of first gear because the big engine's killed the 50 year old gearbox already, i know to check the fuel by sticking my head in the tank because the gauge is broken, i know every little detail of that car like the back of my hand and even without the sentimental aspects i have with it, i'd never think of selling it. If i look at all of my material assets when i get skint and need some cash, Bernard doesn't even register.

To be fair, that guy is epic at boons.

I love this forum

Making up figures is always a good way to make your argument more valid. Seriously though, if it's close tot he top bolt you'll probably be ok provided everything gets tightened to f**k, but don't ignore it's a problem and keep an eye on it.

Likewise! Seriously, this couldn't have gone to anyone better. When i finally get round to making the Tour edit you'll see how good Andre really is. Wheelswap to hop bar on a bench, fresh off the plane after being awake for 48 hours sums it up really... Boy goes hard. -
That's because you never came back. she's moist for you any time.

Get her a card of you f**king Lauren. Seriously, come back to southend and bone my friend.

I f**king love Andre. Literally one of the best people in the entire world on every level. -
Benny! Good to see an old face back on here, new Onzas are pretty decent these days but as always the classifieds will hook you up.

As a stop gap that actually makes perfect sense... Thinking way too far into things haha! Glad you liked him though

On that subject, when i come to renew my insurance - what should/ shouldn't i say? When I monged it i got a producer from Mr Policeman but squared up with the council myself to pay for it and absolutely no-one else was involved or even saw it happen. What to do...? Also, harnesses and seatbelts. Currently looking to fit something to the landy, it's got what's effectively a bench seat in the front at the moment with a pretty low backrest (probably around shoulder blade height). I'm going to be caging it and putting real seats in early next year, but can't decide what to do about safety in the mean time. I can get this kit; http://www.exmoortrimshop.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=4151&category_id=37&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3 ...which is a way of fitting inertia reels as i have no door pillars, but the kit comes in at nearly £300 including the belts, to then replace it with another £200+ of harnesses when i put the cage in a few months down the line seems like a waste of money . I know poorly fitted harnesses are bad, but being skint as i am i'm just wondering if they'd really be that awful to have in for a few months of keeping the missus happy 'til they get fitted as nature intended. Bearing in mind it'll be driving round town and a few infrequent motorway trips to go home and see a few people. I've had no worries driving it with no seatbelts but Faye's really not keen. I'm just looking for some mild peace if mind for her/ something to keep people vaguely in the seat should it need it for the time being. Appreciate i could stick some lap belts in but they're utterly pointless in my book. What does TF reckon?

Seen that happen to a Defender before, must have been gutting. Basically starts running itself on the engine oil and you can't stop it unless you stall the engine somehow - that's the one thing i dread having happen to mine now it's diesel power!
-
Cheers mate! Looking at caging the land rover asap and the standard seats that finish below my shoulder blades would be utterly useless. Been offered some corbeau forza sport FIA things which have previously been fitted to a similar truck from a friend of mine which seem like a decent bet, especially given they're practically free. I guess it might not be so bad given my driving position compared to yours? Pretty high/ forward in the first place... Just concerned about seeing behind me really. Also with the harnesses, what kinda thickness would you recommend? 2" ones look a little a bit on the narrow side to me.
-
Day to day, how do people find life with harnesses?
-
Playaaaaaaaaa! Man, i need to world to hurry up and give me my new bike.

f**k graphs, bitches love pictures. This is how to rectify a write off in a weekend; Happy happy chappy. For anyone wondering what the other cars are, there's some shitty KIA, a similarly shitty Mitsubishi 4x4 thing, a 1.9tdi Golf donating it's heart to a mk1 Caddy, under the sheets are a mk1 Cortina, '69 Mustang Fastback, the ther land rover is a TDI Lightweight and the red caged Capri is halfway through it's conversion to a tuned 351 Cleveland that should be putting out over the 500bhp mark... Cool cars!

Had so much to juggle recently and Faye's spent a lot of time alone with her thoughts, distance thing's hit her preeeeeetty hard (even though it's only an hour and a half on a train if that) so most conversations are tending to end up with one of us being a bit moody, usually her, and heading towards a "so yeah, why are we doing this?" which is bullshit 'cos i'm fully not down with that yet and for the most part it's all good with us, see each other more or less every weekend (except atm we're at week 2 out of 3/4 of not seeing each other)and it's been better than ever in some respects. Just wish she could adjust to it a bit easier i guess, the fact she hates her own uni so much and spends a lot of her time just sat around when she's not working 'cos her flatmates are mongs and she's in the wrong part of london for having fun really can't be helping much - kinda like she's living under a cloud which won't f**k off no matter how much i try. Meh. -
remember to dip the front wheel a bit before you hop, otherwise you'll fall off the back all the time. that was my problem many moons back anyway!
