Unless you're running it caved in like an A instead of a V then you can still catch it with a booster They're fine for an on/off brake on the front, but I think a Magura just does everything better on the rear.
-
I stopped using rear V's when my feet started hitting the calipers (I have big feet) and trousers started getting caught (I don't wear skinny clothing) They're easily knocked onto the rim which puts the brake on when you don't want it. That's dangerous
-
I don't use a V anymore but I use a Magura on the back of the 26" and I've used tar for the last 13/14 years. I'd always go Magura rear, even with cheap pads my brakes have always been vicious with tar, but a V is fine on the front, a V with tar is an on/off switch, no modulation but the bit & hold is ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure they're the same piston as the '04 and the '11 brake if that helps.

Marino Bike 2013 Team Rider Found & frame order discussion thread

Maybe it is, his prices & policies are his decision, but I'm sure as he sells more frames & more money is coming in he'll get these things done. Like I said, he wants feedback & each person who ordered a frame will give him theirs, he'll see what needs doing & do it. Everyone wins! -
So they bloody well should! lol.

Marino Bike 2013 Team Rider Found & frame order discussion thread

Buddy? That never really caught on in England. How he chooses to run his business is none of my business, but I expect that paying extra staff the required wage would greatly eat into the not so brilliant money he gets from doing this. The message board idea was Peter's, not Marino's, Marino said no when Peter suggested it, because it's not the right way to do it. -

No disrespect to whoever runs Jaf, but it's a pretty new business & I don't think he has 2% of the orders that Marino has. There is a much bigger demand for it over there, plus the cost is quite a bit less. So I'm not surprised he can do a frame in 10 days, good for him. But Marino's facebook, blog & website is full of absolutely hundreds of pictures of hundreds of different frames he has built & sold to happy customers. I'm not excusing the delays or lack of communication from Marino, he needs to work on that & only he can fix it, but he supplies Peru and the rest of the world with endless bmx, dh, dirt, bike polo, road bike etc, as well as a minor market of bikes like ours. He does it all own his own and probably overestimates what he can realistically do against the clock. People who have ordered and are waiting have every right to be frustrated, I agree, but people who have ordered nothing but choose to post letting us all know roughly how offended they'd be if they HAD ordered something....what is your purpose? It's like those people that phone in & complain about a swear word on live tv that they never saw but looked it up anyway so they could complain. -
To add a bit of variety & action, will they really always be this stale? Comps are pretty dull most of the time, and I don't think the obstacles should be dictated by some riders unwillingness to step outside their TGS bubble and learn a new move or two. If they had a wide variety of obstacles that required a bigger bag of moves I bet a lot more people would do them, they'd be more appealing & more popular. But hopping around on a wet rock in the woods on a Sunday afternoon....No I'm ok thanks. Great vid though, I look forward to his next one....

For the very reason that....on this occasion a ramp DID turn up, and no one could do it, using a kicker is not like hooks or advanced moves, any decent rider could get it dialled over a weekend.
-
If it's in a comp section, then it's nothing to do with street riders, it's an obstacle. It's a really basic & easy thing to do, which I think at that level is a bit embarassing if a 15 year old bmxer could do it, anyone's capable of it, it's just a lack of open mind & the desire to get by doing just 3 moves, I've seen it first hand locally. Im not talking about riders like Kenny who are well rounded, I'm talking about Andrew's story. He didn't mention bad conditions or weather so I assume that people just had no idea how to get airborn with a ramp. Saying a kicker has no place in trials is part of the reason there are so many (shit) vids like the one that started this topic
-
BUT, trials (comps) is about getting up over & across obstacles, a kicker is an obstacle, I don't think it's really excusable if you can static gap 9ft & sidehop 5ft, yet not be able to use a child size skateboard kicker.
-
Damn. It's sad that so many riders these days are THAT one-dimensional.

A topic would be a lot easier than everyone filling Peter's inbox up, he's just helping Marino out. He's not an employee & he's on the other side of the world. Peter updates topic...then people can check for info if they're after it, the info's all gotta come from Marino anyway so messaging Peter won't speed things up. -
I liked the old vids they did up north on the St Blaise, getting on the big lion etc. But all this hopping around the woods in tights with neon pixie boots shit just makes me wanna cry.
-
I agree. I mostly avoid videos that are of "training" and not "riding"

Cool cctv footage.

I can see these frames now have proper hose/cable guides that use the plastic clips like an alu frame, unlike the awkward ugly ones of the old days. -

From what I've seen...at least 4 are finished with paint. My 2 are primed ready to paint. -

Done. I'm dying to see mine finished, but I know a couple of people have seen theirs! I see 2 orange frames and a red one in the background of my pic -

You'd be miles better off with a Hope xc. Seems a waste to have a nice new frame & stuff, then top it off with a piece of shit carrying every pedal stroke. I looked at them once, then I looked away. -
