  1. I'm in a bit of a predicament. I've managed to brake my collar bone and elbow so obviously can't drive for a while. My insurance runs out in October I think and no claims at my age makes a lot of difference, got three years I think. I was going to sell my van, is there any way I can still carry on my policy in a way and get an extra years no claims? Think I've done 10000 miles on a limited 120000 mile policy so far. Or am I going to have to lump it and use 3 years no claims rather than 4 when I've got some transport again?
  2. I know this a bit of an odd one, I know it's not ideal but basically I love riding techy/trialsy type stuff on my mtb and was wondering if anyone had any tips for suspension set up. My bikes a 160/150mm full sus commencal, I was thinking along the lines of knocking the rebound up slightly quicker and running a bit less sag? Please no replies saying get a trials bike or the like, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
  3. My mate managed to put my gopro under the tap without the case on so looking few a new one. I've been looking at the hero 3+ black and the best price seems to be eBay by a long way, does anyone have experience with these? For example... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271502017370 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221447192356 I've got most of the mounting hardware from my hero 2. Any help would be appreciated.

    Films!?

Seen wolf of wall street with I found amusing and a good watch, also watched the lego movie and to be honest I am a bit stumped by how good it was, had me laughing out loud a lot and was a very creative storyline.
  5. I know it's not trials sorry but it involves riding over rocks, here's a couple of snaps from my trip to fort william (not me riding in them all).
  6. Hey folks, I've just returned back from fort william with a badly dented back wheel so need new rims. I've currently got mavic 819s on Chris kings. My bike points mostly downhill so needs to be strong but still not too heavy. Anybody got any recommendations then? Been keen to take a look at the hope enduro rims but I don't think they are available yet. Cheers Duncano Mexicano
  7. Sorry I never got in touch, struggled to get internet signal and was a busy week. Had an amazing week, the riding and scenery were brilliant.
  8. I've just got here, leaving on Friday
  9. Good shout, can you reccomend any good swimming holes/plunge pools? My friend is desperate to go for a dip ha.
  10. Probably willing to drive about if it's worth it
  11. Thanks for the info, might check out the drivers inn for my tea tomorrow night. As if by chance we are actually booked in to the Glen Nevis campsite in a big caravan
  12. So I painted my van and did a few mods, it's better now not being a white van man!

    Swint? Or Slude?

I don't ever really watch trials videos no more let alone comment on them but that was frickin awesome!
  14. Hello folks, Might be a long shot but I'm competing in Loch Lomond at the weekend and will have an afternoon/evening to myself on Friday, is there anywhere people can reccomend to spend some time? I was thinking something along the lines of a bit of sightseeing with the 7d camera. After the weekend I'm going up to fort bill with some mates on the mtbs. Is there anything particularly worth doing/visiting while we are up there? Plan is a couple of days riding the Nevis range and a couple of days doing whatever in the area. Cheers.
  15. Long shot but is anyone going to the Steel City mini dh race tomorrow? I'm riding in senior class on my commencal so if anyone spots me say hi!
  16. I was just about to offer you a free set of the same rockrider bars ha, got loads of pair knocking about due to working at Decathlon.
  17. Finished work early this evening, which couldn't have come at a better time cause I am up early to ride the Steel City mini downhill race which is gunna be awesome
  18. Can anybody shed a bit of light for me. I'm curious to hear advice on getting a van on finance (don't really want a brand new one). Would like to hear what sort of situations mean it's worth doing, what's best way to go about it or should I make do and lower my sights a bit as to what I can really afford?
  19. Contracted to about 25 hours a week but always get loads more shifts than that. Working in a bike workshop and in a pub. Happy doing that sort of hours a week cause it means I get to have free time to do what I want and do some awesome stuff before I make any real commitments to anything.
  20. Hit the wallet hard today, bought everything I need to paint my van and got a replacement tailgate. Hopefully with help have it done for the end of next week
  21. Right, so my van managed to somehow pass it's MOT, the airbag light interestingly went off when they plugged it in and came back on on the way home. Hmmm I've been given a fault code but have no idea where to go from there with that. Anyway, I'm going to spend some money on the work horse, starting next week with a full respray including colour coding in candy red/dark metallic red (doing all the work myself). Here's the van that is just boggo standard pretty much, except now it is rusty as fuark. Does anybody have any ideas of mods for me to do while I've got the urge to do some work to it? Thinking possibly tinting part of the lights, maybe look at making a very discreet splitter and spoiler (the opposite of chavvy), maybe chop out the grille and fit a honeycombe mesh style one somehow, dr badge in places and all while keeping my eye out for some wheels.
  22. Mot today, I reckon it's going to fail on tyres amongst other things. I'd rather splash out and get a second hand set of alloys and tyres rather than spend money getting tyres for my dopey steelies. So does anyone know of a nice set of wheels in 5x112 fitment roughly 17-18" that would suit my van that I could search for? Ideally something not too expensive.

    Tire choice

Yello folks, Does anybody have any reccomendations for tires. It's for a commencal meta. Which spends most of its time pointing downhill. I'm doing a mini dh race on it and a trip to fort william. Currently got a front minion super tacky and rear maxxpro minion both 2.35" and single ply. I do like maxxis, so was thinking dual ply high roller supertackys, 2.5 front, 2.35 rear. That a good idea or is there anything else worth looking at? Cheers
