  1. That's exactly what I thought, why bother putting another bashring on? I've done a bit of research and it seems people are having good results without a chain device. I think I'll go for a zee clutch mech and raceface cog, not sure about running an alu front ring though?
  2. I asked about that and they ignored me A friend has the one you have and his is awesome but mine is tosh.
  3. http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=56&products_id=818 I asked superstar if they could help and they told me to run a bash ring to stop the chain dropping, i got a hope bash ring and suprise suprise it's made no difference. to be honest I'm going to try and get my money back for it.
  4. I work at decathlon and it is soooo easy to sell the bikes cause they are amazingly specced for the money. We are going to start selling an enduro build rockrider sometime in summer that's 140mm with sram kit, 1x10, dropper post and manitou forks for roughly £1200!!! I'll post up some new pics of my trek remedy , which I have renamed money pit after chainging so much on it, later this week. I bought a superstar chain guide but I think I'd have dropped the chain less if I didn't use it it has been that awful! So my plan is to run a clutch rear mech and a narrow wide ring and go without a chain guide.
  5. A lot of income for car companies like mclaren and ferrari etc isn't primarily through cars. A lot comes through expensive t-shirts with badges on etc. I would have thought making an amazing car would boost these kind of sales, so it would be profitable indirectly. That's my thought anyway.

    Dreams...

I had to me an epic dream last night. I was on an airfield type place hooning about in some cars with the top gear crew getting on really well with them, after messing about for a while they then pointed out a ferrari f40 (my dream car) and said it was there for me to drive. I was incerdibly giddy and jumped in, it felt a bit odd cause it was left hand drive and I fired it up and was told to take it easy while it was cold. I was nervous and did a dodgey gearchange to everyones amusement. After a slow pace half lap of warming up, I floored it and it came to life and felt incredible and so sharp, I dropped it down into second later on and pulled the car into a slide elegantly around the other top gear crew within inches that were driving the new la ferrari and two other ferraris. It was amazing and I got out and talked to Jeremy, Richard and James about not meeting your heros but I was so glad I did here. It turned out they were that impressed they thought I was a worthy candidate to replace one of them once I retire. I woke up and wasn't even dissapointed, it was such an epic feeling driving the f40 even if it was a dream and could remember so much detail.
  7. If you're ever up this neck of the woods (sheffield/peaks) give us a shout, it'd be good to show you some spots and have a pedal.
  8. Here's my new ride. It's a 2010 remedy with some nicely specced bits on like the king wheels, saint crankset and what not.
  9. I have contacted the seller, he has said that I said I was happy with the bike (which I did say when I received it so quick and after sorting out an original problem but before I found these other problems) and that he offered me a refund (which he did) if I posted it at my cost back (to the top of Scotland). Ideally I don't want to send the bike back cause it's gunna cost me roughly £30 odd and I've payed out for some seals and pads for the back brake. Ideally I'd like a bit of a refund towards the parts I've had to get (which I think is fair) but it seems he's not gunna budge or respond no more.
  10. Gahhhh bought a mtb off ebay and keep finding issues, the bike was described as 'great working order'. Yet the back brake has pissed out of the back seals onto the pads and wants rebuilding, the bottom bracket has a load of play in it, the gears seampt to be set up like an ape had done it and the rear chris king had play in it. Now that doesn't seem like 'great working order' to me or am I being unreasonable? The seller is being a bit funny, I've not left any feedback or anything yet, anybody got any tips?
  11. After a distastorous first half of the day for everyone at work at my first job I really enjoyed my shift at the pub after then got home and watched the owls beat Leeds with the family giggling and now looking forward to the moto trial tomorrow. Such great days out doing the road trials, get up to some mischief!
  12. Got myself an enduro type mountain bike rig
  13. Just treated myself to a new to me bike, skint now but can't wait for it to arrive
  14. I did really well at GCSE. I then went to college for two years and sucked at a levels while at the same time getting a job in a classic car body shop. It was fascinating at times and i got to drive/work on some awesome machines but it was quite laborious and it was a small private business and the owner was old and uptight constantly. I ended up going back to college to redo some tests and left the body shop a few months in to concentrate on that. Ended up doing crap again at college but got into uni to do automotive engineering at Sheffield Hallam but deferred my entry there for a year. I got myself a job at decathlon on cycles and in the workshop last summer and have loved it, the money is crap and my hours are unpredictable but I love it and the people there and I also get to do deliveries occasionally which pay well. As well as there a few months ago I got myself a job behind a bar at a reputable traditional style pub which I too enjoy doing. The plan now is to enjoy myself for a year or two while not having any major commitments or overheads and then really crack on with earning some real money, I 'd like to be self employed, exactly what doing I'm unsure but I have plenty of time to decide and I've sacked off the idea of going to uni cause I don't think it's going to benefit me overall.
  15. I don't have a particular favourite, I work behind a bar in a reputable traditional pub where at any one time we have 6 guest ales on. The best part is I'm meant to know what each one tastes like so I have had all sorts of things. In the last three years or so the manager reckons they've had about 2000 different guest ales on! At the moment I drink a lot of bradfield brewery ale cause it's very local to me, things like farmers blonde and belgian blue go down a treat Got through this lot on new years eve.
  16. The nukeproof looks like a good shout cheers! It has to be full sus
  17. Hey there folks I've put a bit of money aside for a mtb rig. I'm after an all mountain type with 140-160mm travel that likes to descend. Budget wise I wouldn't really want to spend much above £1000 on a used bike but more if it were going to be new. So far I've not seen much that tickles my pickle, however I do like the look of the commencal meta am rigs, they seem to fit the bill just about right. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers x

  21. I was once doing the pub quiz with the family. The question was, which game show has a jackpot prize of £250,000? To which my mum replied, who wants to be a millionaire!?!?? Jeesh they can be thick at times.
  22. "If it got tits or tyres it mean trouble." This phrase is true too much of the time.
