Just caught up with the race, was pretty dam good that!!
  3. I keep getting the urge to paint my van, the rust on it is ridiculous so whatever I do it will eventually come back. The van is my workhorse and used to get me and my bikes around in and have fun and not to be taken to shows. So what I'm saying is I want to paint my van a metallic red but I'm not arsed about it being mint. I was gunna paint it myself on my drive or maybe my cousins barn. I of coarse used to work in a car body shop but it isn't the same people there now so can't go back but I do know to an extent what I'm doing. Basically can anyone advise a method I can use without being able to bake it and such. Also cheaper the better. (A)
  4. Long shot but is anyone doing the steel city dh race? Will be my first trace so long as I get in Got a few mates I know doing it too.
  5. Well it turns out I should give notice for 11 in the morning for a 7:30pm shift. Bit pissed off cause even though I went in there was no appreciation for me making the effort and more like I was getting a bollocking. I feel so shit now and run down.
  6. Cheers guys, yeah narrow wide up front, haven't dropped a chain yet! Could do with adjusting the clutch in the mech though as I still get the occasional bit of chain slap but loving that set up.
  7. Feeling really rough with a cold and stuff. Rung up work 2 and half hours before my shift and they say they can't get cover and it's too short notice so I have to work. Anyone else think that's a bit unreasonable? Never had a day off ill either since i started over 6 months ago.
  8. Loving the new frame and bits, unfortunately had a crash the other day and blew my fork seals, rebuilt the forks and now I keep managing to bottom them out and the compression damping isn't working right so going to give them a proper overhaul as they felt beaut before. Slx brakes are mega!!
  9. I'm absolutely loving the new frame and bits, 5 minutes into my first ride on it I jumped a twenty foot transfer on it I've never even thought about doing before. In a way it feels like a mini lighter downhill bike which is exactly what I was after. The slx brakes are awesome too thanks for the recommendation guys. I'll post some pics up on Friday.
  10. A tiny place called override cycle works. They've never really carried much stock though of anything and I guess I got lucky

I really liked the fact they look like they are driving on the edge so far, with plenty of opposite lock action, some great overtaking moves already too. The rest of the season looks very promising I do miss the lovely v8 sound though.
  12. I made myself a bench recently, I used an old bit of kitchen worktop my Grandad had laying around. It makes for a nice surface to work on and nice and sturdy. Might be a good idea to ask around a few kitchen places and see if they've got any of cuts or stuff with marks in.
  13. LBS had a 50% off closing down sale and had exactly what I wanted in. Ixs trail rs helmet for £45 when it should be £90!! Also going for a ride on my newly built up frame this afternoon
  14. Well I just ended up ordering some slx brakes with some Icetech rotors after having a play on my friends xt and slx brakes. Yeeeehawww
  15. Hey folks, The situation is I can either pay £60 to get my rear elixir working with new hose and bits and pieces and I don't really like my avid brakes or go all out and get new brakes. I've been looking at zee brakes but does anyone have any reccomendations? For a enduro/all mountain rig.
  16. So I've got hold of a frame, a brand new 2013 commencal meta am. Only trouble is it is just the frame only so was never supplied with a shock/shock mount. Now I have a fox rp2 shock but unsure what mount exactly is required. Can anybody reccomend a place that's good with this sort of thing? I've contacted a few places, I was just seeing if anywhere was good in particular.
  17. Had a shitty week or two with lots of things breaking or costing money but just felt uplifted when I saw the results for the yorkshire centre team trial. Turns out we won and so did another of our clubs team on the other route.
  18. Not sure I'm keen on the lapierre frames, I'd still keep a look out for them. Nukeproof is a good shout, that does seem a good deal too but it is a stretch to far I think. I like the new shape commencal metas too and I did find a specialised enduro for sale but I did some digging and found a picture of a large dent in it which he neglected to mention so I'm not so sure about that particular one. It's just a case of waiting for the right thing to pop up now.
  19. Yeh I believe it to be terminal and only useful as a wall ornament. I'm going to have to lump it and buy a new frame cause I have so many trips planned this year. Can anybody reccomend anything to look for? After a kinda enduro type 160mm frame that has slack angles. My trek rode nice but I've obviously been put off now, I'm still unsure about orange 5s, and I'm not sure what else to look at with a budget of about 4-500?
  20. There's 2 cracks on the weld either side of the head tube and 2 cracks bang in the middle of the headtube near no welds so with them all being so close I don't think it's worth being welded. It's a trek remedy 2010
  21. Doesn't look like I'll be postin pics of my bike no time soon, found 4 cracks in the frame, bearings I were sent are wrong ones and two of the pivot bolts have rounded. Flipping hate this bike, had some right trouble with it.
  22. Absolutely fuming, the mtb enduro bike I bought has been and endless money pit and source of trouble. Must have spent another £300 extra on it as it wasn't as described. Earlier when I was changing the frame bearings I found a crack in a weld near the head tube. Got so many other things I need to spend money on but no money cause of this stupid bike. Feel like driving up to Scotland and slapping him silly. It's not like I can kindly borrow no money either cause the 'rents are soon to be out of jobs by the looks of things.
  23. I used to work in a body shop, eventually when I've got some spare time I'll go back and paint it all up. It's been painted quickly and shoddily which is a pain. The tailgate will want replacing I think cause it's a right state. I need to spend a day an pull my finger out and crack on and get it all sorted and yes the mini was far less rusty
  24. Getting a bit fed up with the van at the moment. The rust in places is ridiculous, srs light on, handbrake sticking on I think, gear change ludicrously stiff and got a bulb warning light yet no blown bulbs. Not very much but it's kinda come on at once. Sorry it's a bit ranty this post, I've loved having the van though, it's so useful!
  25. It was myself that painted it, quick job sorry! The colour is ford purple velvet if you want to do it the same colour
