  1. Did you ride an old school bike before the echo? 26” lower bb, heavier frame? Just keep going and you’ll get used to it. Don’t do the mistake to go lower gear. When I first started riding I couldn’t get hold of parts so I had a 18-18 gear ratio on a mod bike. It basically feels as if you had the chain off. Obviously that’s an exaggerated example but it thought me to do all the essential moves like pedal kick, side hop, gap etc by just throwing my body without kicking on the pedals. End result is I can’t do a proper pedal kick on a wall without finding the end of it so I could take my front wheel out the edge.. or my side hops are something like back hops in a way. I’ve been trying to relearn moves but it’s proving really difficult to break a habit.
  2. I’m having exactly the same issue and I’ve noticed a long time ago but I haven’t really done anything to change it. I don’t feel weak when holding the bars with a full hand but it somehow feels weird and I feel like I have less control of the bike which isn’t a thing anyway. I agree with @isitafox there - just take your front brake off and you’ll have no other option but to get used to it. Might end up learning frenchies as well haha. Its definitely a thing you and I need to address though. Remember ages ago I was doing a pedal up and as per usual I had my front brake locked. I went too close to the wall and my front wheel hit the edge, so I ended up in a “superman” position nearly smashing my face in the wall. I knew a guy who broke his nose doing that and since then I’ve always been shitting myself when doing taps. If I had the brake free, I would have just done a touch up..
  3. I only just shaved today and by the time you were over with that static at 1:10 my beard had grown up again! I liked the mix of doing something playful on a wee kerb and in the next clip you’re doing a 1.40cm hook up. Super chilled, well controlled and enjoyable to watch!

    2020 TGS Edit

    Think the riding was decent but the edit didn’t do it justice. When I saw a big TGS title I was like “yesss” and kind of expecting a more aggressive feel to the video. You suit that ozonys!
  5. I’ve got the headset cups with bearings in them but I’m missing a race crown and a bearing cup and I can’t seem to find any online. Are there any other brands which are compatible with Chris king 1 1/8 nothreadset? Cheers Nas

  8. Just remember there was an old monty video from like 10 years ago where the frame was modded with a rear shock for extra bounce. Can’t seem to find it online. Does anyone have that in their archives? Nas
  9. Hi mate, grab a file and file/sand off the paint off the rear rim. If you’re struggling for decent pads a bit of tar will definitely help. Next step would be to get yourself some decent pads (I’ve used yellow and blue heatsinks and black adm pads and I’m happy with any of those). As Ross mentioned putting a brake booster on is another thing to consider. Stops the bike from bending and protects the hoses cos they snap quite easily if you were to accidentally step on them. Finally to make the brake feel stiff try to adjust the callipers/pads to be perfectly parallel to the rim. You’ll also notice there is a wee hidden screw towards the end of the lever blade. Screw that in to bring the blade closer to the bars if you have short fingers like me. Would definitely recommend upgrading to metal tpa and a metal piston. I’ve always water bled my brakes and they seem to work ideal. Have a look at Ali Clarksons latest vlog on YouTube for other tips and brake adjustments. I don’t really know much about disc brakes but cleaning the rotor with spirit should help.

  11. Not entirely sure if that’s correct but there was an old series of Russian trials videos called samovar (самовар) and the second one was a mad guy on a 20” czar like that. Worth finding it for inspiration..
  12. Guys guys, you’re taking this wrong. I’m not arguing that you don’t have the right to be introverted or shy or not wanting to be centre of attention.. all I’m saying is that there is nothing shameful in falling off the bike and if anybody’s laughing at you it means that they’re morons. I don’t particularly like strangers standing to the side and watching me whilst riding. But you just need to find a way of avoiding making yourself feel self conscious. You either wait for people to walk past or if they engage in a chat and ask you to “do some stunts for them” (I hate that cos it makes me feel like a clown) just sit on the bike and say you’re having a break until they leave. If you’re based in the city there’s always going to be people passing by and you need to learn to deal with them. Leaving your favourite spot won’t solve the problem and it shouldn’t be that way.   13. Read all the comments above and genuinely I don’t get why everyone is being so self conscious. Especially coming from people who are so good at trials! After all, trials is an extreme sport and is street based most of the time. It’s all about challenging yourself and crashing is part of the whole thing. Having said an “extreme sport” makes me think of other examples like bmx, skate boarding, snowboarding, parkour etc etc.. and in all those videos I’ve seen there are people absolutely smashing themselves a lot worse than we do in trials. And that’s only because none of those sports are easy. If anyone laughs at that it only shows how much of a knob they are. Next time someone’s being cheeky just hand them your bike and say “do you want to try?”
  14. I’ve got a cheap tripod off eBay, a few fish eye lenses and I’m using my phone. A bit annoying if I’m to ride out of reach in case somebody decided to steal it so constantly need to keep an eye.
  15. Got a second hand bike which I’m now servicing and it came with some random mix and match internal headset. I’ll need to get a new one but looking at the frame it seems like it needs an integrated headset instead. Can anyone confirm what kind of a headset I should go for? Thanks, Nas
  16. Hi all, I’ve logged on the forum from both android and iOS phones and I always seem to be unable to view some of photos and any videos people upload on their posts. I’m not sure if that’s it in general with the mobile version of the site or maybe there’s an option I need to tick on my profile? Sometimes photos will appear as broken links which won’t load and videos will load on a separate tab but won’t play. See screenshots attached below. And something else I’ve found useful using other apps is when you swipe left and right to go back and forth which doesn’t seem working on the forum here. So I always need to scroll down to the bottom of the page and use the wee arrows to go back a page. That’s not so much of a big deal but it would be useful if I could just swipe right. Nas
  17. Is it a disc brake you have on the rear? Once or twice I thought my hub was skipping as well and it turned out it was either the rotor or the brake calliper being loose and making a cracking sort of noise.

Currently I have a breath yes 20” frame with 1010 wheelbase, 362 chainstay, +90 bb Looking for a shorter frame with 350 chainstay, not too bothered about the bb but say anything between +60 and +80 will be alright. Been offered an old ice frame but I’m not too sure about geometry on that. Trialsaddict says 1000wb, 350cs, +80bb but the frame shown in the picture has a different head tube design, so I’m assuming it’s a newer updated version of the original ice frame. Does anyone know if that’s the correct geometry, also are there short and long ice frames or just one size? And last, is anyone selling a Jitsie frame by any chance or anything similar? Thanks, Nas
  19. I’d say that you could get a long mod frame and still feel comfortable on that mate. They now have quite long stems and bars as well have so much rise that it would add a fair bit on the overall length of the bike (have a look at the new clean bars). Certainly you wouldn’t have much to worry about if you went for a stock bike, length wise I mean. But my advice is get a bike and stick to it. The more you ride, the more you’ll get used to it. Lots of people (including me here) tend to change bikes way too often trying to get the perfect setup and by doing that you’ll end up focusing on the bike itself to “make” your riding instead of you actual riding it which never works. Glad to see people getting back to it cos street trials seems to dominate these days and tgs is slowly dying.. Cheers, Nas

  21. I know everybody has their own preference but still... give the 20” a chance. It might seem alien at first but once you get used to it you’ll love how comfy it is and especially how you can control the bike with your body instead of being “carried away” by the bike. This coming from me who started on a hardtail 24-18 gear ration with -30bb and 579483827292726 chainstay.. (all of that said... depending on your height) if your tall then probably a street machine or a stock trials bike yeah :-)
  22. Yeah I’d say pick one and start learning everything with the same foot forward AND to the side it should be done. When I first started riding I was right foot forward but I was also spinning and doing my side hops to the right. I was going like that for so long that it turned into a habit and even though I’ve been doing side hops to the proper side for quite a few years now I still can’t get myself to spin to the left. So if I was to do a pedal kick on a wall I’d either need to start further back (which makes pretty much a gap in itself) or I’ll end up doing something like a side hop to a rear wheel and it just doesn’t look right. Same thing applies to front to rears and it’s a pain in the ass. I’ve recently started learning spins to the proper side and I hope that will help me learn/improve other tricks and I wish I’d just learned everything the proper way..
