  1. I'm running a King in the back of mine without issues, I think it used to/still advises against it on the Tarty website but thats only due to chainline issues which you can sort out using the correct sprocket on the cassette body.
  2. I used to run 158mm cranks on my mods because otherwise the gearing felt too light running 18-12. Currently running 170mm on my echo though.
  3. You also don't need an official chris king tool, you can either draft the bearing out with a hammer and punch or use a split wedge.
  4. Yeah they are, they're a grippier, bouncier and lighter tyre too
  5. 24" trials bikes without a seat are typically ridden as a normal trials bike, it's only the seated bikes that are Dmac style
  6. Sell your barge and get something shorted and flickier, learn up to fronts and techy stuff rather than sidehops
  7. JMCD 18-14 is only good for 24" trials, 18-12 is for mods and 18-15/16 is stock, Pretty much anyway.
  8. Havent got the zippo but I do have that heatsink adaptor still, pm me your adress.
  9. Can't believe you still have my frame Tom
  10. It'd probably be around a +55/60. I absolutely love my Echo Trial, rides better than any other bike I've been on and everyone that rides it says it's nice too
  11. I've gone with Joes suggestions. Should be at home by now if I'm lucky. Saved about 900g in total just on tyres, bike should be near the 8.7/8kg mark now
  12. Jack I saw your post mentioning a puncture shortly into the first ride on those tyres. I was looking at a small block 8 front, like the idea of a fat albert rear. I've seen your riding though Joe and you're incredibly smooth on most things, how do you think it'd hold up for a TGSwhore?
  13. Staying front disc and rear king. Just how I like things. Is the big betty actually any good? As I've said I've heard mixed reviews.
  14. I went from a mod to the echo 24 and absolutely love it. Straight away I could go bigger and felt more comfortable on it.
  15. So with Radfest coming up soon I'd like to treat myself to some new bits for the bike, mainly tyres. Currently running the original Kinetics which I think are between 900-1100g. I'm wondering what tyres you guys are running and to what success? I've heard mixed reviews about Swalbe tyres such as the big betty. What about a small block 8 2.1" for the front? Anyone tried it? Full spec of the bike just to see where else I could save weight: Echo Trial 24" Frame Trialtech forks Echo TR cranks with TR Platform pedals and a trialtech 18T Screw on sprocket with Echo TR Bash Try-all 3d mod step (sloped cap + 2bolt clamp) Try-all Rage bars, either think they're 08 Front hope mono trial 200mm (no adaptors) Rear 04 maggy, kevlar hose, braided crossover, coust pads in plastic backings an a trialtech 2bolt booster Front Echo urban 24" rim on a Echo TR Hub, Kinectics 24x2.35 tyre, standard tube Rear Echo TR 24" rim on a Chris King Classic (Hd axle + steel freehub body), Hope allu spacers and Trialtech widebase 14t cog. Kinectics 2.35 tyre standard tube. I'm really happy with the spec so I'd like to keep the weight saving on the tyres only but if anyone has any ideas as to what else I could modify / replace I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
  16. Title says it all, driving to radfest from the reading area, anyone need a lift? Dont fancy paying about £40ish for the Petrol so I'd be looking for someone to split the cost. Both bikes + camping gear in the car. Pm me or Facebook me - Mikey Pond
  17. Still looking for someone to petrol share from the reading area, probably be about £20ish but we'd have all our equipment and both bikes in the car. Pm me on here or Facebook Mikey Pond
  18. My pro pads are absolutely fine on an air filled mono trial with a 200mm hope trial rotor. It is an overkill rotor for a 24" but it's still more than good enough. Edit* I agree about the noise in the wet though.
  19. I have a starnut installed and the threads are still perfect, not sure how I managed it to be honest. Running a try all sloped stem too
  20. Been out with Meek and a few others tonight, getting really excited for Radfest now as those guys just push me to go bigger
  21. Not 100% but I think you just place a few washers either side of the jockey wheel
