  1. It's one of the stiffest boosters out there. Rebleed.
  2. My Trialtech 2bolt booster is stiffer than my Echo4 bolt was, try either the Trialtech 2bolt or the carbon version.
  3. Mod or 24" I'd go disc, Stock I'd run maggy.
  4. Just because you don't care doesn't mean other people don't.
  5. Is that aimed at me? I never said I found Hopes hard to bleed, I just occasionally have those "special" moments when everything seems to go wrong
  6. I suppose it is a pretty decent way to ensure no bubbles are stuck somewhere in the caliper but its a bit ott
  7. I've seen you say this more than once and the result is the same, it's still not funny. Dan why not cut every other nobble off your rear tyre? Shouldn't affect grip much but it'll shave some weight.
  8. Last Sunday was a failure as no one replied. This Sunday I'll be with Stuart Thomas and I think Jack Chinnery, anyone else in?
  9. Bath bleed it with Antifreeze. I always do, I've had the same bottle of antifreeze for 2years now and I was doing a fresh bleed monthly.
  10. Cooking oil is too thick and sluggish. If you're going to syringe bleed you might as well get proper oil. Get some Citroen lhm clutch fluid, it's the same stuff as royal blood and costs about £10 for a litre from Halfords.
  11. Yeah I tried various boosters before Nick Manning told me his was exactly the same, stuck a maggy lever on and it's rock solid Plus I think the maggy lever has a stronger, snappier spring in the master.
  12. I like the mid section of that 24", not a fan of the headtube area nor the dropouts.
  13. About an hour of just riding around aimlessly hopping smallish walls, those little gas/water main things that look like tombstones etc and I have to say it feels sooooo much nicer. I wonder why they dont come complete with a mod stem? If everyone that has ridden the bike raves about that and my first impressions are good.
  14. Another new pic, new tyres (Small block8 front, Fat albert rear), saved about 900g. Also got a new stem, bars, rear brake and I also have a rear chris king also got some trial tech forks because I snapped my echos So I've finally got some decent pictures courtesy of Mr.Chinnergay(Borat) whilst on a ride with him and Stoozie. I've also stuck a tasty dent in the downtube, got a maggy lever to replace my echo one, stuck a trialtech hose splitter on and got myself a hope
  15. Open it up, take it completely apart, clean everything properly, check how mangled the pawls are, if they arent too bad then stretch the springs to put some crispness back into the engagement and stick it back together. Edit.
  16. Either a tensile96 or an EchoSl, I've had both and they were brilliant. My tensile only died because it was about 3 years old and I'd stretched all the springs, made it about 3times as loud as my Echo currently is.
  17. I'll see how it goes. If it feels nicer than I'll order a "prettier" stem with the same geo Thanks Mark
  18. I see no reason why glazing the pad is a problem if he can just sand the glaze off once the oil is gone?
  19. Looks like its closer to 140/150 according to the measure. Thanks anyway, should've measured it from the start to be honest.
  20. The echo stem can't be that surely? The because sounds familiar, I think thats what Jack told me it was I just can't remember.
  21. I did nothing but TGS with rear disc and loved it. Probably just me but I found keeping the disc centered was a bitch, especially when replacing a puncture, tensioning chain etc. I just ran it slammed in the dropouts with a spoke tensioner which was sweet.
  22. Riding and Echo 24 trial atm, came with a because stock stem but because everyone's been raving on about how mod stems are better etcetc I've decided to try my old Echo team mod stem. Problem is I don't know the geo of either. The because was running 10mm of spacers but the Echo stem has such a large clamp area I can't use spacers with it. The attached pics are the stems in question. Echo Team. Because.
