  1. I never claimed it was any "principle". I was going by the fact that the majority of the forum claim welding a frame is usually pointless for the reasons Josh stated.
  2. Just stick with a bike, don't change anything unless it breaks and stop f**king about. You'll get used to it eventually.
  3. So everyone claims that welding a crack will weaken the frame further and thus render the effort put in pointless and yet you're trying to help and condone this guy welding a disc tab on?
  4. I absolutely hate wearing a helmet, I'm always aware of it being there and it puts my off. I will however wear one if needed to (e.g Barrow farm) or if I'm trying something new and sketchy.
  5. So either way not too bad, cheers ads.
  6. Just stumbled upon these pads, they look similar to coust pads colourwise. I'm using a set of cousts from the man himself (via Nick Manning) and they perform amazingly, I'm wondering if anyone has tried these? Cheaper and easier to get hold of by the looks of things so could be a viable replacement for when(if) mine die.
  7. Am I the only one that doesn't like it raw?
  8. Smaller slave, bigger master? Although I imagine the bite increases with a smaller piston I can see hold getting worse.
  9. Those are the SL's. I'm selling the Lites. They might even be 07's
  10. A year or so ago I did it with very fine grade paper in 15mins or so and had a high polish after.
  11. Just sand them, it'll take less than 15minutes with some fine sand paper.
  12. So far it's me and a couple of locals going. Stoozie might pop down for a bit though. Who's in?
  13. Oh my bad Shimano vee's are very good value for money to be honest, I'd rather have one of those than an ultimate, Ali C ran them I think and he had problems either with play or the bearings.
  14. I vaugly remember... Mark W? I think it was claiming the BB5 was slightly more powerful but the BB7 is more adjustable. Probably wrong Is the Deore really more powerful? The BB discs I've used have been so powerful every front wheel move felt like a fork breaker.
  15. Echo SL 2bolt booster made no difference, Echo Urban 4bolt was flexy as f**k but stiffened the brake too much. Trialtech 2bolt booster has made the brake solid, bitey as f**k, holds amazingly (cousts on a practically smooth grind) and it shrieks the place down. Either get the Alu or the Carbon trialtech 2bolt.
  16. Echo refused to deal with anyone who also deals in Zhi I believe. I think Zhi used to work for Deng and then split and made his own company? I've read the full story on here multiple times but my memory is utter wank. Alex Dark might be able to get Zhi stuff as I know he used to be a dealer, not sure about now though.
  17. I'm running cousts atm. EchoSL 2bolt booster they were shit. Echo Urban 4bolt booster they were shit. Trial tech 2bolt booster they are absolutely f**king amazing, that's with a grind so dead it's practically smooth. Cousts with a Trialtech 2bolt f.tw! Pm Nick Manning, he's still got a couple of sets going.

    Help

Thats mid ground with a mod to be honest. Short mods are 995 - 1005mm and long mods are abour 1020-1035mm. Thats wheelbase though, you could just run bent forks and gain an extra 10mm.
  19. My move from Mod to 24 has helped me a lot, the mod felt easier to flick about but since riding the 24" I've progressed quite a bit in both the ability to control the bike and to really put power down. TL:DR Mod felt too small for me to push myself, Stocks too big and cumbersome, 24" is sah-weeeeet.
  20. Phone the bikeshop back and ask them to order it for you.
  21. Maybe they know they can do shit without you retaliating? Next time someone assaults you dont take it like a bitch, do something about it.
