  1. I run a vee on my streety 24, bites like a mofo and holds, and it's only a cheap tektro one. with avid rim wrangler pads, cos they are metal backed
  2. I've got a piece of m12 threaded bar, and two pieces of 50x50x10 flat steel plate with a hole drilled through the middle. works fine for me and cost nowt after I got my old mans mate to make it for me
  3. if you didn't use water to bed in, and your pads are glazed, your disk is still contaminated. burn all the shite off it with brake cleaner and a blowtorch. then give it a rub on a flat surface with some 600 grit wet and dry. then bed it in properly, loads of methods on here
  4. lol. Mansfield is classed as midlands I think
  5. bit of a generalisation that Innit shag? I'm northern, ride tgs and street, and I'm not a twat. most of the time anyway. cue a big ass north v south argument now
  6. I'm old, cocksure, and shite at trials. but it doesn't stop me having a laugh and have ultimate respect for today's young uns, of which some are more skilled than I could ever hope to be. by the way I'm 31 this year, and still the oldest at comps by quite a bit. if I start acting like a wanker, just tell me and I'll go 'mehh' or 'yeah, and? '. by the way I ride streety 24
  7. I ride my Ashton 24 in comps, does ok for me, you saw me at Blackpool. it's me that's the issue, not the bike lol
  8. happy birthday student. from trials forums resident old man

What the heck does null mean? You seem to put it at bottom of all your posts. lol

  10. what kind of feel/riding style are you after? for a mod, the bar and stem combo looks fine to me, any changes in riding position feel strange, but you'll get used to it after an hour or so and think "why didn't I do this years ago".

if you can get on with the geo, 990 wb and +50 bb, then go for it. I imagine it spins real easy and hops not too bad. bit short though
  15. oh yes sounds very good. I'm sure me Neil and dan will be up for this, bikes with no seats and getting smashed, mine and Neil's 2 favourite pastimes
  16. I used to run a hitman converted to single speed, hs33s front and rear, echo sl 4 bolt forks and Easton bars and stem. had a hope and echo back wheel as well. was proper light for what it was, rode well nice. if he gets it, change the forks to something lighter (null)
  17. on my rock man 108 sl, the lockring is fastened on clockwise, so on ffw will stay tight. if it were on the back, it will become loose. an acs claw lockring is threaded on left hand, so would come loose on the front, I know this cos I had one. they are advised for rear use only because of this (null)
  18. 04's for the win. or old school hs22 green frog limited edition. came with Cnc boosters if I remember it right. I had a set on my xc bike when I was a wee bairn (null)
