  1. Generally I'd say second hand element all the way. If you can get a dirt specific bike later on it will be better, the high bb won't feel great. Also second hand incase you want to sell it on if you decide to ride a different style. As for 24 - 26 its really down to your preference, 26 will feel better on dirt, but plenty of people love bmx on dirt. But, I dont think either of these bikes will feel particularily good on dirt, so it kind of doesn't matter. If you are mostly riding street 24 will probably be more fun.
  2. Sick!, already love your style mate. Good filming too.
  3. skye looks really good in black. Get it done in matt black, it will shit over every bike ever (in my opinion). There was a guy on here who had a matt black hex that looked amazing.
  4. You don't need to soak things to be rawed, just fill a cup with warm water and caustic soda and then wear a rubber glove and rub it on using a cloth, it takes about 10 seconds to come off. Also its best to do near a cold tap to rinse off the excess.
  5. If you can afford it I say go for the hope or a chris king and then you can change gear ratio on a whim. It makes a big difference to the feel of your bike and your ability to do certain moves, so if you are unsure what ratio you want being adaptable is better.
  6. The price isn't ridiculous, but I think more a frame kit would be more interesting to the sort of person who would want to spend that much. Also I feel like if I had one I couldn't wear jeans and a t-shirt to ride it, I would have to wear a leotard and possibly a cape.
  7. I recently went from 22-16 on a fourplay to a 22-18 equivalent (18-14 ) ratio and I was instantly happier, I tried 14t too but it was too hard to pedal kick but was great for ragging at stuff and bunny hopping. 22-18 is close to the standard trials ratio so it makes pedal kicks and sidehops much easier. Definitely experiment and see whats good for you, it really depends on your style, environment and in what direction you want to progress. I'd say try an 18t and a 15t you can pickup cheap ones for a few quid, gear ratio makes a huge difference to how your bike feels for better or worse.
  8. Like these guys are saying sleep and environment affect depression. But its more than that it tends to be some root cause or causes, that may or may not be relevant anymore. These root causes start to change things in your life, how you eat, sleep, exercise and interact in relationships with other people etc... as all these things get worse they start a cycle where you feel worse and worse. These things make the depression 'bigger' and people feel less able to cope. Firstly if you think there is a root issue, find someway to get help with an aim to accept it or overcome it, and appreciate that it may take time and be hard work. But, also don't expect too much from any healthcare worker you might get. Secondly your ability to cope with the root cause can be increased by making the effect of the depression smaller. As humans we are naturally habit forming creatures for good or bad, people get stuck in cycles. The trick is to do some small things every day to initiate change, try making small changes in different areas in your life. They have to be small to keep it up everyday. So, in your relationships try and do something for someone else each day, from a compliment to asking 'how are you?' and just listening. Thinking about others really helps with the self pity. Try keeping something tidy like an area in your house or yourself. (depressed men often stop shaving as much etc..) Do a small bit of exercises, just some situps or push ups or a jog. Be grateful for something, can be just thinking 'I'm glad that I have somewhere to live' and be positive. You have everything you need to be happy inside you. If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got.
  9. Yeah, I'll look around, I have pretty much hated everything I have owned from from truvativ/avid/sram group. I wont be doing DH on it so I guess that gives me some leeway, with BB's I tend to buy ones with replaceable bearings; I am not sure if you can get bearings for shimano ?? Could be raceface or Shimano...
  10. Thanks for the help, I was looking around the sites and none of them refer to a common name for the axle type even though they all say they are cross compatible. I've ordered a Dartmoor Two6player 2013 frame for a bit of dirt and park.
  11. I don't have anything yet, ordered a mtb frame and now im looking for cranks, but I've heard raceface and fsa cranks will fit shimano bb's and vice versa but I'm not sure what the system is called (like how ISIS has a name thats easy for me to find).
  12. Can't find what I need on google. I assume Shimano Saint bb's use a different axle diameter to isis bb's ? so I can't put a Saint or a Raceface Axle in an ISIS BB? Do Raceface bb's use the same tool to fit as a Saint bb ? What do you call the type of bb that Saints take ? I think FSA and Chris King etc.. also make bb's that fit raceface and saints cheers guys,
  13. he used to race bmx when he was young. Im feeling this video, some great lines Cult – Russ Barone

  15. lol, I'm well into Ryan Leech's philosophy.
  16. This is a natural response of your mind to try to protect you, I say go with it and ease off the big moves for a bit. Progression in these sort of sports is about pushing yourself as hard as you can without getting injured. If you have had a lot of injuries in a short period of time you are pushing too hard, take less risks for now and then gradually work up to it. Less haste more speed, relax and enjoy. (But still ride a lot) Just think about how time/ progression your injuries cost you if you find it difficult to back off. I hope that makes sense...
  17. I couldn't get it on FB but here s YT version if anyone needs: http://youtu.be/5vHymfgem0Y

  21. I learnt from working free on projects with people much better than me, now I work on and supervise projects with young people.
  22. What he said^ Also in the beginning the light from the window is annoying me on the tripod shot (why do people always shoot at windows!!!). And the framing just seems weird, sometimes the guys head is so cut off that its getting almost touching the eyes. having a key light or some soft boxes to illuminate the presenter may have helped in some of the shots. When filming in an interview people are often told to set the camera at a normal eye height so it looks natural. But if the intervier or camera man is not at the same height the interviewee is looking at the wrong angle, and their eyes switch between the camera height and camera man's face height. In films normally crew look away so they cant make eye contact. The shakey cam is also annoying me, and the focussing is annoying. Use a lens with more depth of field if you are struggling. I know shallow looks nice. Also white balance / colour correct in shoot and in post. But its pretty cool, the sound is pretty good, and its normally terrible. Overall its still pretty good. I'd just say always go the extra mile to lug lights around and retake shots, scout out your location first and look for problems like windows, annoying noises etc..
  23. Budget spending estimates: gvmtexpen.tiff Quite a lot of money goes on social protection, which is making sure people have houses money to live, job seekers allowance etc.. I think this is important money to spend, but because of the lack of jobs and industry in this country it is way bigger than it should be. Also our debt repayment is at £46bn, which comes from all the years of terrible finances. Earnings estimates: gvmrecipts.tiff Its pretty interesting to see it all laid out like that, and yes we have been doing a shit job. The difference between spendings and earning is the deficit, and you can see that here: A really big part of the problem is that money isn't real. When we borrow money we are really just printing it. Every time they print money each pound reduces in value and is worth less. So each year a pound is worth less, meaning we have to spend more for all the stuff we need which increases expenditure. - As the pound devalues products cost more and wages have to go up. - Big companies don't want to pay more for wages so they lay people off and move overseas. - We have more unemployed, - Social protection costs go up. - Government borrowing increases. - The pound devalues The cycle continues until we go bankrupt. As a developed country we a the guinea pigs for the idea of a central bank. Some people think central banks are great other say they are doomed and inevitably result in collapse. The issue is, for the time the system works, it works okay.
