Cleanzine is always a good read and watch, but Ive often wondered why you use images instead of text ? Are you trying to avoid SEO? or is it that you are using some weird publishing software to write up your text ?

The deficit is different to the debt, the deficit is how much money our government gets vs. how much it spends (yearly). So this value has ranged from positive to about -150bn a couple of years ago. Its been getting better though, I think we are around 90bn aiming for 50bn. The debt, is massive though, each year we have a deficit we the borrow money to cover it. Overall things are getting better financially. However, a lot of MP's supposedly have financial intrest in large companies like Vodafone as they are shareholders. So its not in their interest to tax them too heavily. UK taxation law needs a revise, but its complicated to create an equal playing field for small and large companies. However large companies use the complications to create loop holes and exploits and can save a lot of money. I think the government are struggling to find a good solution. Another problem with taxation is that if we tax the rich they leave the country. This is happening in the USA, businesses and individuals are leaving due to over taxation. This creates a cycle where taxes go up to cover the deficit. Edit: looked up vodafones tax owed, the interenet says its like 6bn. I don't know how accurate that is, but if its correct it won't cover our deficit. But, it will better than the '£0' we are getting now. If they don't pay it it will come out of our pocket.

So they are now melting ice on purpose ? and producing more CO2 and more atmospheric water ? Surely thats a terrible idea? From what I've heard, oil exists because bacteria hadn't evolved that could utilise all of a tree/dinosaur so they left behind a organic matter that has undergone some changes due to temperature and pressure. Bacteria / microbes have now evolved to utilise all of 'dead things'. Also, the size of the oil reserves must be huge, because at the very least the big countries need enough oil to run a military on for several years plus enough oil to develop and manufacture the replacement technologies. I'm sure theres loads of oil left, but that does mean even more CO2 to eventually be released in to our atmosphere.

Yes you are right, but thinking (and discussing) is the first step in doing. Not thinking or doing without thinking is unlikely to create positive change. I'm not saying its all we need, but it is important. We have so much power that we aren't harnessing. For example if you look at the work of Prof. Gene Sharp a non-violent actionist and author. Long story short, he wrote some books and people like me and you in oppressed countries read them and a small number of people spread ideas and lead a movement to regain their freedom. So far IIRC non-hostile takeovers have been carried out in Burma, Serbia, Georgia,Ukraine plus a few more.

When we talk about the world going pear shaped we are not worried about our own lives. Every one of us will die, we will all experience our own 'end of the world'. So caring about environmental and social change is about thinking about the direction of the human race and trying to prevent suffering across future generations. Fortunately for you generations of people have sacrificed their time to do this before you; which means that you aren't lying in a puddle of your own filth dying or suffering under a dictatorship. The progress of the human race has only been perpetuated by the few, and those few need support. Most people in fact do nothing but take in their whole lives and contribute nothing at least be grateful for the scientists, engineers, politicians and soldiers that have sacrificed so much for us. The way i see it. I can tolerate people who are so ungrateful for life on earth and incapable of compassion to their fellow humans that they can't even see why someone would want to discuss things that affect our future, but I think those people should be ashamed of themselves when they try to stop others from engaging in a positive activity. Unfortunately, I think these people won't regret. To regret, you have to be aware that you are responsible for the consequences of your choices, and that you have a choice and a duty to make an informed choice. These people will probably just see it as an absurdity that has been imposed on them, they will think 'life is shit I don't deserve this' and continue not thinking and not helping. When it is exactly what they have earned. Its not the length of life that brings meaning it what you do in that time. If you think that taking a small amount of time to concern yourself with topics like environmental change is a waste of your life, then it really says a lot about you. It does, but lazy people leave it to the very few to think about things and make change for the better.... and this is exactly why we have people that spend so much time thinking.

Thanks mate, thats really helpful.

The media already do this for you, the issue is you end up trusting someone who may or may not have your best interests in mind. But, I also agree that it is not feasible for you to find, read and prove all scientific study that may affect the things you care about. Mostly its the blind leading the blind, but its good that you would be willing to do things for positive change. I think the problem is how to use it, we can generate energy from it. however it produces CO2 and more water, so the best thing for our survival is to keep it locked up. As for the greed topic; there are lots of bad things scientists bring up from running out of a resource to extinction level events, but no one can prove when these things will happen or how much is left, nothing too bad has happened so far so its difficult for people to imagine something bad happening. We can only prove it when it actually happens, which is too late. It's not that hard for me to believe that someone making trillions wouldn't care about an extinction level event; that will probably happen hundreds of years after they are dead when there are people who care more about a cheese toastie: The largest concern in my life at the moment is if I should have wholemeal pitta breads and sweet chili dip or knock up a emmental and mushroom toastie Funnily enough, I reckon Jardo hit it on the head earlier in the topic by worrying more about his dinner - I've definitely got things I care about more than some methane which may or may not kill me or my future children.

I'll be coming back to read this thread later!, I've got to go out now. But I just wanted to throw this in the mix its kind of to do with what Ben is talking about. Its the extended interview of John Perkins, Author of "Confessions of an Economic Hitman". He basically claims he worked with the US Government in the interested of the largest banking firms in the world to 'screw over' smaller countries. Although this is slightly of topic as its not environmental, I guess there may be a couple of you who haven't seen it and would find it interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqIHKWd9rSc

If its from riding it'll likely be down to a trigger point forming in your arm, they're common in most sports, they Shin splints is a pretty specific term, but the feeling is often the same as a trigger point. in addition to what showurcolours mentioned stretching and Ischaemic Compression are worth looking up if it does get worse or annoying, This article has a good explanation if you are interested in finding out more: http://www.sportsinjurybulletin.com/archive/trigger-points-treatment.html

Also i think having your weight more central feels better on two wheeled move or for bunny hopping stuff and landing it at speed. But just ride what feels good to you...
-
I think some people run 90 length, I run 70-25 and love it but I dont hop on the back wheel (unless i mess up) I dont think many streety people do, so its all good.
-
Okay cool, ill prob try and throw a few tomorrow and just go for it.
-
That's the bit i'm having trouble with though, trying to landing to rear wheel feels weird.
-
Great video, I love the camera work and edit too!

Armstrong?.. they'd better be.

Its naive to think people won't do something for money and power. But I'm not convinced about the how and why of what this guy is talking about. However whatever is going on is certainly in full swing, the earth is changing anyone measuring geological change is seeing huge changes from the atmosphere to the sea to the balance of eco-systems. Whatever is happening is bad for us, and it's important to remember that the earth has only been inhabitable to humans for a relatively short time. The day that every person is willing to say hands down that the earth is becoming inhabitable it will be to late to reverse. Its important for us to keep an open mind, because the science of this field is complex underfunded and on such a huge scale that it's very difficult to model mathematically.

I really want to learn this move, but I'm too lazy to go to the park on the reg.

I can bunny hop 180 pretty good without having to carve, but going for 360 seems like a big transition. It's mainly because people are generally saying tap 360 first, but that involves changing my body position to drop my rear wheel. It just feels weird to even attempt. Does anyone have any tips / advice ? Or have you had a similar problem ? Im thinking to look upwards instead of down to try and tip my bike so I can tap. But then I think the best 3's are done looking down (through armpit).

I think I may have confused the thread by posting bollocks. Im sorry. My calc was wrong I was thinking 18/12 on the thread but doing 18/15 on the calc. Here are gain ratios for the options, but I had to approximate the rear wheel size to a 20" bmx on sheldons calc Wheel Cranks Chainring Sprocket Gain ratio 20 175mm 22t 16t 1.9 20 175mm 22t 13t 2.3 20 158mm 18t 12t 2.3 20 160mm 18t 12t 2.3 20 160mm 16t 10t 2.4 26 170mm 18t 15t 2.4 (26 x 2.35 tyre) 26 175mm 18t 15t 2.3 24 175mm 22t 16t 2.4 24 170mm 18t 14t 2.3

18:12 will seem even lighter than 22:16! 22:18 is about the same as 18:12. I agree with other guys get 18:12 on there, it feels really good.
-
if you have a 22t chainring, then the factory hex uses 22t-18t (22/18 is almost equal to 18/15). sheldonbrown.com/gears is also quite useful if you want to compare gear ratios across wheel sizes and crank lengths.

Just added some new pics of my updated setup.

Smoking increases your CO levels which will have a major factor for arm pump, its dramatically reduces how much oxygen your blood can hold and will stop your muscles being able to produce enough ATP aerobically = either stitch or knots. I would personally avoid aspirin, because it can mask injuries, so you won't know if your getting pump and youll end up with muscle knots. Lots of current research is not in favor of aspirin for this purpose. People do recommend Ginko to increase blood flow to small tissue (which is what you need). Co enzyme Q10 is badass at making ATP to so get some of that. And yes to potassium! bananas, spinach, mushrooms etc..

where abouts on your foot is it ? if its the bottom/sole stretch your calves, tight calves put stress on the ligament on the bottom of your foot and cause pains.
