  1. You have to use the code youtube gives you.
  2. Happy to hear that there will be a second version of the SL forks "out soon". At 1:05
  3. I've got an Avid Ultimate with a crappy booster on the rear and with the ADN pads and Echo SL rim it works a treat. Can't complain about the lack of bite and the hold is, as you said, very good. I have a Vee frame though so this might also be sth. to consider. With an adaptor on a magura frame the brake wasn't as good even though still on par with maguras.
  4. Dunno. I read about it on this forum and come to think of it, my last Echo had tiny bits of metal in there but I think it was after having ridden it for a while.
  5. How will it wash it out? I can imagine that the gap being too small to wash out any tiny metal bits left from production...
  6. I was just wondering if there's a quick way to do this. I can disassemble it alright but getting those pawls and springs back in, especially with the ball bearings is such a pain in the ass that buying a new one is almost the better option. So how do you get the parts back together? I cannot put the springs and pawls in there and put it back in the outer ring as the pawls have to be pushed in... How do you clean a freewheel. Reason is that I ordered a new Jitsie freewheel (as I am sick of the newer Echo SL ones) and want to strip it, clean it and ride.

Yeah. I've seen that on Facebook already. @Ali C I highly doubt it and it would be very interesting to see (at least in my opinion). Just have Tarty build you a Crewkerz. Apparently not that high at +65.

I saw the video and was amazed (as usual by him). @Ali C That's what would make it even more interesting. Seeing how well you do on a bike that has a +70bb.

I'd like to @Ali C him riding a TGS bike. Would be like seeing @aener on a bike with brakes.

Grips really look like the orange Ritchey WCS. Would be interesting how many times you change the chain (the Trialtech is just a rebranded KMC z610hx isn't it?) and how much wear you have in general. How often do you ride anyways?
  11. Noticed that one of the rear wheel bearings of my Mondeo MK3 (2002) is messed up. Got myself a very good deal on SKF ones for 50€ each. At 176.000km I might as well change both sides. Since I have to take off the brakes, I decided to change the discs and pads as well as they have worn down considerably. ATE discs and pads for the rear axle for only 100€. I should write in the "happy thread" with this. Will swap the parts on the next weekend. I love my Mondeo. Its a 2.5L V6 170hp fueled by LPG gas (KME Nevo) so it's very cheap and durable. Parts don't cost too much either (as the example from above shows).
  12. <--- 2 3/4 years. Didn't know him either. Wow, he is as quick with the bike as Bruce Lee was with his fists.
  13. Is this old? I hope not as I'm going to be 37 soon.
  14. Well... I've had a go on the Baron Projekt BCC. At 29psi it feels like the Try All Sticky Light at 23. On rocks it feels kinda weird as it pushes you into a direction you don't always want to go. I dunno how to explain it but with the Try All I would jump onto a rock and would stay in the position I landed in; the Baron on the other hand, tries to be in its standard position resulting in turning you around quite a bit sometimes. I don't know whether this is due to the side knobs being that prominent... It has a lot of bounce though but it feels awkward off camber. The Race King Super Sonic has more grip than the High Roller ST I had before but it seems that it moves on the rim resulting in my valve being in a crooked position.
  15. I've never done a face plant, only got off the bike rather differently trying a gap to front. Btw: @Daviesdt have you had a look at trashzen?
  16. It's not like you are pushing your bike forward (I imagine you try to push like you would do when doing front wheel hops) rather than trying to let go of the front brake and lean backward. It's hard to explain and you will figure it out eventually on your own.
  17. That's probably why I can do the swap on lower walls. I feel like really jumping onto the front wheel.
  18. I cannot really explain it but it's not that much about pushing with your arms rather than leaning backwards after releasing the front brake. Just try it on the flat ground for a while. Do an endo and then try the wheel swap. I manage to do the wheel swap on lower heights than the wall in my earlier video but I never feel like pushing really hard out of my arms. I can't to front wheel hops so it's not really necessary.

I missed the ethics comment as I wasn't really paying attention to the "lyrics" on this vlog entry. I did have to use my tissues though... edit: I had a look at it again. @Ross McArthur your explanation makes even less sense to me than the question of ethics comment in the video.
  21. I wasn't talking about the construction techniques but rather about the quality of the rubber used. My older spitfire with the first S1 sole lasted way longer than the newer ones with the "same" S1 sole. I have to admit that this is just comparing 3 different shoes and hardly representative. I really don't know why my 5/10 only last so little. It could be my feet... Having a look at the two soles I posted earlier, you can see that they are only really worn on certain spots. It may also be that I'm a beginner at trials and move my feet more on the pedal doing corrections than advanced riders... who knows....
  22. I think since Adidas bought 5/10 we won't have these around anymore.
  23. Stealth S1 sole I think.
  24. @AndyT The dirtbags have the stealth marathon sole. The rubber of the Freeriders is the stealth S1. I found it very grippy but it somehow didn't last very long. I've worn 3 pairs (Freeriders/Spitfire) with this sole and well... after 1/2 - 3/4 year they look like in the photo*. They are still grippy but with pins in your feet it doesn't really feel so good. I also kinda think that the rubber has changed even though still named the same. My first Spitfire (with the S1 sole) lasted more than a year riding trials AND mountain bike. The Freeriders with the same sole I got after those, I had to throw away after half a year of only riding trials. Could it be because of Adidas having bought 5/10? I bought the Sleuth just recently and the Marathon sole is considerably harder than the S1 sole and a bit less grippy. Still enough but the first Spitfire I sometimes ride in are still grippier. *Note that these are both Spitfires but with different soles. The dark ones are the first batch of Spitfires with S1 sole, the orange ones have the marathon sole which is supposed to be lasting longer. p.s.: I started out riding with the Wellgo MG1 and have changed to Nukeproof Electron Evo just recently. These have way longer pins so the wear of the sole will be even faster I imagine.
