Why would you want to do that?

You don't need the King hub tool to just clean it and lube it. Do the first bit to get the axle out and take the driveshell off as per the video. From there you should be able to see the drive rings still inside the hub shell. If you poke your finger in, you can pull the rings apart - they're spring-loaded. That's in the video at 2:40. Clean these out using WD 40 or something and then add a bit of lube (I think Adam recommends Finish Line Wet XC Lube) to the drive rings. On the video from about 1:40, there's a bit about cleaning the driveshell, which you can also do without the tool. That should be all you need to do, unless you're replacing the bearings.

You'll probably like it then. I'm always climbing on stuff (especially when drunk). Best if you've got a friend to go with, go to an indoor wall and do some bouldering (basically climbing without ropes - just a big soft mat and not as high). You usually have to blag it and say you've been before and knowhow to tie knots etc (this is where it helps to have a friend who knows the deal). Otherwise you'll have to fork out for a beginner course or whatever which can be pretty pricey. With bouldering you don't need a harness or any experience really. You can do it in trainers too if you like, but you should be able to hire climbing shoes for a few quid. EDIT: Actually, scrap all that, just join the climbing club at uni.

Oh, sorry. I thought you meant your TPA was broken since the bleed. If it's been broken all the time then don't worry about it. Like I said, the only way you can cause a problem is if you bleed it with the TPA in and then wind it out causing negative pressure (though I don't really know if this is even a problem in reality). But if you're worried about it, yeah you can just take the lever blade off and bleed it.

I was listening to Pixies - Space (I believe in), but my girlfriend just sent me a link to a coldcut song she likes ( ) so I'm listening to that instead but it's not very exciting

Yeah. Except if your gears aren't set up properly, because they will crunch really badly *** when you try and go backwards. Unless pockettissue means riding backwards without pedalling backwards? Which obviously isn't going to be possible by going single speed.

It is a bit like that but not as much as you think. As a student I went to a GP basically one day per week for 2 years and you usually see something interesting. Once you know everyone's full history, things can be more challenging - it's rarely just a case of giving them antibiotics and sending them on their way. The other thing about GPs though is the variety. Whilst all hospital doctors are pretty good (in terms of knowledge etc), some GPs can get away with being terrible, while others are great.

Ah, I getcha. Cheers.

That bike looks so nice. Best colour ever! Adam, I didn't quite get that... Is anyone actually selling this things? Nice photos too. Shame about the auto flash though

I agree with you a bit about being a GP. In terms of medicine I think it would be pretty dull. You don't get to see an awful of stuff, and anything interesting usually gets referred to the hospital. However, it's a pretty easy-going job, and at the moment being a GP pays quite a lot better than being a hospital doc. Compared to any job outside of medicine, I would love to be a GP. But compared to the other things you can do as a doctor, I don't like the idea. A&E is cool I think, I could see myself doing that. The pay isn't amazing (there's no scope for private practice which is where all the rich docs gets their money from...) and the hours are terrible, but it would be interesting I think. Or general surgery, but I really don't know. At the moment I basically want something that's interesting and varied. I can't really imagine being, say, an orthopaedic surgeon and ONLY doing bone stuff 24/7. In fact most orthopaedic surgeons usually specialise further and only do E.g. hips.

I've been waiting all my life for someone to realise this. Finally, some recognition!

At some point. In 18 months (assuming I pass everything) I will get a basic junior doctor rate - that's nothing to write home about (especially after 6 years of university) but it should go up fairly steeply after that One of the doctors at the MRI (big hospital in Manchester) flies his own plane to the alps to go skiing. I want to be him...

I can hear mong in the background. Glad to hear you're getting back into it. Now we just need to arrange an epic summer ride somewhere warm.

Nice one Adam. You look... smaller than I remember

C2D --> 2 cores --> 2 quits? Never had it on my lowly Powerbook

Do you mean cog (screw on sprocket) or freewheel on the front? For sprockets you need to use a chainwhip and a long pole. Clamp your cranks in a vice and use the pole on the chainwhip for leverage.

You're supposed to wind the TPA completely out (off) before you bleed. It's not really a massive problem though in my experience, but your TPA won't work properly unless you rebleed it. Also don't try and back the TPA off now, otherwise you'll get negative pressure in the system which you don't really want. But yeah, bath bleeds are great!

Haha. It took me a couple of seconds to realise it was an earthquake, and my first idea was actually to go and stand in a doorway. Then I realised that it wasn't actually going to knock my house down, so I just stood there and enjoyed the ride

Odd. I can't say that's ever happened to me. In other news, I was using my girlfriend's MacBook earlier which is still running Tiger. It looks so old and dated now I'm used to Leopard!
-
It does look very nice that. I like the slide-out keyboard and it'll probably feel good since it's a Samsung.
-
I was just brushing my teeth, about two minutes from bed. Really glad I was standing up at the time, it really enhanced the whole earthquake experience for me. Far out.

I bet it doesn't. Maybe in terms of features but not in terms of ease of use and general quality. My Orange M700 does plenty of things the iPhone can't do (3g, GPS, Windows programs) but would I swap it for an iPhone? Of course... Still, it looks nice. What OS does it have on it? It doesn't look like Windows.

Didn't know that one. I just use Cmd + alt + Esc.
