    Mazda Mx5

    Explain yourself, squire.
  2. It won't be anything to do with the keyboard. I'd definitely put my money on a virus of some sort. Sort that out, then use Firefox.
  3. Wow this topic is quite entertaining now
  4. You're just a grumpy gus. Everyone likes a drumstick lolly. Mind you, a refresher lolly would have been better, natch.

    Back Pains.

    No, it's pretty much everyone
  6. My mate's just got a VW Transporter which we're going on a roadtrip in. 5 people + 5 bikes = eeeeeasy. Just roll em in with room to spare. Plus it drives roughly like a car and does almost 30mpg. f**king A.

    Big Gigs

I am aware of how rock and roll concerts work, I was just wondering if the timing it going to be different as it's a big (outside) venue - Manchester Cricket Ground (Old Trafford). I'm with Hendrix, I suspect that the musak won't start until 6-7 or whatever. But I'd quite like to hear from someone that might actually know...

    Big Gigs

Yo, I'm going to see Radiohead at Old Trafford on Sunday but I've got to be somewhere else earlier in the day. It says the doors open at 4:00pm but I'm guessing the music won't start until much later? I've never been to a gig this big before and I was just wondering what time they're likely to start? Also Bat for Lashes are supporting and I quite wanna see them too.

    Beau

Wow that's pretty shocking news. He always seemed dead cheerful on here, and was obviously a pretty good rider. Thoughts to all his family and friends

    Team Fortress 2

If I wasn't away all weekend, I would love to try that, looks fun. Now it's the summer and I have zero commitments, I'm quite tempted to relax my self-imposed ban on online FPSs...
  11. Yeah they originally came out in two sizes for some inexplicable reason - 11" and 14" I think. Something like that anyway. I guess that's the 14" version.
  12. My mouse gestures just worked straight away, no messing about. The plugin is called 'mouse gestures redox 2.0' and I had it on FF2 and it auto updated itself for FF3. Splendid.

    24"

It was never really an issue in comps unless you were riding at a top level, so for the regionals no one cares. It's pretty unlikely that you'll be winning any comps on a 24" anyway - if you are, you've got it set up wrong! The comp scene confuses me with all the rules, but haven't UCI just put everyone all in one class anyway, so there's no rules to stop you now? Parts are dead easy to find - the only real difference between 24" and stock is the frame and rims/spokes/tyres (obviously). If you're using a rim brake on the front then you need some forks with 24" mounts, but for disc it's not an issue (use normal stock forks).
  14. Add-ons yes. Themes probably, not sure.
  15. Wow brilliant. Except you're not actually being sarcastic. I think the phrase is "you fail".
  16. Haha, nice story. Good pics as well. Looks like they've built some more toys (in that car park near the playground?) - I will have to ride there again, looks fun
  17. It's a million times better than IE. Just try it. Or don't, I really couldn't care less.
  18. Probably a hacksaw. It takes ages but you do get a reasonably good clean cut.
  19. Feel free to report any posts you think are just piss taking. Yes, text speak is very annoying and against the rules but it actually doesn't happen very often. When it does it'll just get closed or whatever. I tell you what's just as annoying - People coming into NMC just to gloat about how they've been validated or to whinge about every little spelling mistake. Like I say, report these clowns and I'll whoop their ass. Everyone started once upon a time so try and remember what it was like before you knew all the forum rules off by heart and didn't even know brakes needed bleeding etc.
  20. Er, great. 123456789 are you just looking to argue with everyone? Just chill eh?
  21. Can't help really - I'm just curious. Where it says X~N(3, 0.01), does that mean that X is normally distributed with a mean of 3 and a standard deviation of 0.01? EDIT: Question 3 is a bitch. Can't get my head around that at all. I'm sure there's some clever way of working it out though...

    Education.

Doing medicine isn't that hard. I have a pretty good memory for facts which is what you need, but I think even for the averagely intelligent person, it's not too hard. In fact, I have found the exams for my BSc far more demanding and stressful! What is hard about medicine is getting onto the course in the first place, and when you're on the course it's very hard to excel within a year group full of very clever people. As for choosing a subject that doesn't lead onto something else - I am lucky in that medicine is a very vocational course and assuming I pass all the relevant exams, my career path is quite well set-out. But most graduates don't use any of what they've learnt at university for their future career, for better or for worse. My point is, don't worry too much about doing a non-vocational course, because that's the situation 95% (that's a guess) of graduates are in. Apparently philosophy is good for Business & Research, Retail, Finance, Health & Social Work, Public Administration, Community, Social & Personal Service, Manufacturing, Transport and Hotels & Restaurants. I have a friend who did PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and she loved it, and has now got a pretty sweet banking job guaranteed in the City of London for September. As for changing subjects I don't really know. Here it's pretty easy to swap courses within a faculty, but I'm not so sure about swapping from life sciences (Neuroscience) to social sciences (Philosophy). I just re-read my post about neuroscience and I realise it's very negative, perhaps I'm being pessimistic. You might really enjoy neuroscience. Certainly it won't be much like anything you've learnt so far, the level of detail, the teaching style etc. Personally I want to know a little bit about everything, and I found the level of detail required for my course was restricting that. It may, of course, be completely different at Bristol.
