    Rear Tube

Nah, Decathlon - £2.50 for 2 I just use bog-standard tubes in my trials bike. Pinch protection is much more about tyre choice than what tube you use.
  2. Something like that. I don't know to be honest.
  3. I had been toying with the idea of buying a bigger screen for ages, but always put it off. Anyway, I got a 22" Samsung a few months back and I love it. So much more space to do stuff, it looks nice etc etc. My only regret is that I should have done it earlier. Just do it, you won't regret it. The only slight problem is for games - you have to have a really powerful graphics card to play normal games on such a big screen, It's not a massive problem for 20-22" screens, but if you go up to 24" then you're looking at probably upgrading the graphics card too. It doesn't bother me though since I don't play games on it.
  4. Until the Pro II came out, everyone was using Hope XCs for trials (well, at least everyone who couldn't afford a King). They're fine. XC riding kills bearings which probably accounts for the play and deformation, and a bit of 'visible deformation' on the freehub body is nothing to worry about. I've never seen a hub which doesn't suffer from that! I used a Hope XC for years for trials, and I'm running one now on my mountain bike. No problems. The other option is a DMR revolver hub + ACS claw. Rock solid, cheap, builds into a strong wheel, and you can upgrade the freewheel to something like a Tensile/ENO in the future if you want more engagements.
  5. Don't be so hasty - If I were you, I'd get a second hand Hope XC / Mono for under £50. Or even a new one if you can find one. Not as good as the Pro II engagement-wise but it's almost half the price and just as reliable (if not more so, in fact).
  6. Er, that's not quite how it works
  7. Anyway, trials has got to be one of the safest sports going. I mean you get the odd twisted ankle and occasionally someone breaks a bone but in reality there are hardly any injuries, and I've not really heard of anyone injuring themselves to the point that it's either life-threatening or stops you doing the sport. Think how many professional footballers have their career ended by a bad tackle. Trials is nothing like that.

    Kendal

No one was saying that though...? Mind you, if that Ryan guy was eschewing a helmet in order that we could all see his lovely barnet, he deserves a slap

    Gear Hub

Are you English? What? What hub do you intend to buy? Just because it has 36 engagements doesn't mean it's going to be good for trials...

    Magura Pads

No one was having a go at Plaz pads (For the record, I use CRMs). As a great man once said: "You could use chipolata with tar, and it would work" which was basically what Adam@Tartybikes was saying. It seems as though there was a bit of misunderstanding, although I'm still not convinced that Tim 'gets' it. Maybe it's the dry British wit or something To the person who started the topic, might be best to use the search. These topics come up every day, there must be hundreds.

    Contact Lenses

Just a bump for the person who was talking about contact lenses in another thread - I got the lenses from that place ^^^ and they came within two days, I was very impressed! I got 6 months' worth of monthlies for £28, bargain! They seem fine and comfortable, I'm well pleased with them

  15. Er, in case you were actually believing any of this crap, you don't have AIDS. There are a few things that give you easy bruising but they're rare. I wouldn't worry but obviously going to the docs isn't going to hurt.

f**k's sake. Such a sound guy and one of the forum regulars since before I can remember. I can't believe it.
  19. First of all, make sure your spelling and grammar is impecable. Any mistakes and you're just shooting yourself in the foot. Have a brainstorm and think of everything you've done that's worth mentioning. Then choose the best ones, and make them sound really important (this is easy for trials comps because no one knows what they are). EDIT: Irony of misspelling 'impeccable' noted

    Cars

Yeah, different people call the polo Mk3/Mk4 different things. Clubpolo disagrees with Wikipedia on what the different mks are, so it's safer just to use 6n. My Polo is ace. Worth way less than a grand too now. It's R-reg, and a bit rusty, although it still runs fine. It's got 130k on it, and although it seems fine to me, it must be nearing its last journey. Dunno. But yeah, you should be able to get one for sub £1000 with less than 100000 on the clock I reckon. There's really no point going for the CL over the L or anything like that, it basically makes no difference. Get the 1.4 16v if you can find one.

    The 4x4 Thread

My Dad had a present of a day off-roading in a Land Rover, I drove for a bit. Was fun! But not for every day, that's daft, obviously. http://www.kankku.co.uk/ f**king A.
