  1. The world has reached new levels of retardation.
  2. Best way is to just remove the brake entirely.
  3. You've got to be having a giggle, surely...
  4. You know I was thinking about editing that post just after I did it saying PS don't be alarmed about the reasonable responses here, there will be plenty more sardonic, sarcastic ones in due course. When this thing falls apart and Dan goes back to the landwhales, I'l redeploy ; )
  5. Some developers are just plain difficult, others work fine if they're managed properly. I am often asked if I can suggest people for fairly decently paid jobs but I struggle to recommend any because I just don't know many. Other people I know who are company owners, project managers etc also have trouble sourcing good ones, from any country. I guess it's a bit like photography and many other trades - tons of people think they're good, think they've got what it takes, but turn out to be far from the full package. One of my main problems with developers is when you tell them to do something a specific way and they do it different because they thought it would be better, nevermind the fact that their solution doesn't meet the needs of the business. Now sure you could say it's my fault for not explaining the in-depth reasons to the developer, but I'd disagree - if a good project manager, technical lead or CTO spells out what they want, the developer should either do as he's told or try to sell his idea better, and if that doesn't work do as he's told. As ever if you ever need help with anything or want to discuss problems you might have, give me a shout.
  6. As long as she's giving something out, sounds like a good situation. Maybe right now she's unsure, what's to see how it unfolds without the pressure of having to decide yet what form your relationship is going to end up in. And if you're having fun around her, then you're probably winning.
  7. Just be careful because some girls are very good at 'using' a guy who is reliable and a 'safe bet' when other blokes let them down and they want to feel wanted. Now if it's working for you, that's fine - you get a bit of the old in-out in-out with a hot girl - but be careful you don't start getting emotionally invested only for her to pull the plug again. The reason I say this is because you wrote "We hadn't even done the norty as we were waiting until we made it properly official." - don't end up being the good friend who gets a bit of touchy-feely in between the guys she actually f'cks. "Oh look... maybe next time ok? Let's just hug tonight?". See if she steps up the game or tell her you want to be friends, let her realise you're not that easy. I'm not saying this is necessarily what she's doing, but I'm sure many guys here have got to a point with a girl where they realise she just messing them around, and that's the time to turn the situation round and tell her to do one. In fact it's also quite satisfying, being the guy that denies the girl, especially when there are no shortage of other available girls around and hence you're not really missing out.
  8. What an amazing project. This quote from the interview stood out... "I don't know much more than that other than I just want to enjoy riding my bike... I think that's just such an awesome thing to be able to say." I have motorbikes, I have a BMX about 2 meters away, I have a week in Morzine booked for this month... Makes me realise how fortunate I am to have the freedom to just go out and ride anytime.
  9. Don't forget to get your shitty little tattoo before you leave, so you'll always remember that time you 'went travelling'...
  10. Ask her to move in with you. Dump her when she says no. The end.
  11. Nice, really liking the second one.
  12. Was that the one with the French music? I just remember Leech's bike sounded like a sack of spanners all the time, which was bad enough. Production-wise I much preferred the Chili Video films, but watching Revolution and Evolve helped me re-define what I thought possible on a trials bike.
  13. But the music on Merschats vids was horrible! Better off without it!
  14. Ah yes I remember something about you doing a presentation or getting an award or something. Good effort, keep at it!
  15. Get back you bastards? 2005 was the last decent year I had on a trials bike before losing interest. Good times.
  16. Seeing that stuff still totally blows my mind. Loved that photo of Ali and Danny.
  17. The mild irony is that it was one of the few good-natured posts I've actually made on this forum!
  18. Lol! I used to be really into cars (despite having not owned one since 2007) so it's interesting to see what people are up to, hence I follow the thread. I do actually mean it though, the style, colour and size just look right.
  19. They look the business, waaay better than the old ones.
  20. Standing on the platform edge on the Tube in rush hour, I'm always amazed that more people aren't killed. Makes me really uneasy being in that big crowd...
  21. Possibly - I think it's good for people at a young age to accept mortality and death. At the same time watching videos of Mexican drug cartels sawing heads off probably isn't going to be very good for a child living in the UK, not when we're largely kept away from these things.
  22. I have waxy ears. Once I got dirty swimming water in one of them and got an infection. Holy shit that f'cking hurt, couldn't believe it. When they pulled all the wax out the doctor was laughing at how big it was.
  23. HMRC once had to fax (yes, FAX) me a number so that I could write it into a form and send it back to them the same day. They wouldn't tell me the number over the phone, and if they mailed it I would've missed the deadline.
