  1. Just finished fitting a tubular manifold to my LCR. The difference is staggering! Different enough to blow 2 of my remaining "good" coilpacks, causing a fairly epic missfire under boost. Luckily I have a mate who works at Audi, who gave me a set of four brand new ones which solved the problem. The acceleration and boost is so insanely epic now, its scarily quick! Fell out of love with the car a bit recently because of certain things gonig wrong with the install...however, as soon as I hit boost for the first time, my love was straight back! Looking to fit WMI at some point in the near future...need new front tyres first though!
  2. ...plus he'll probably tell me how my car is so shit because I didn't go to R-Tech, even though I'd still dick him
  3. Cue posts about how amazing Niki at R-Tech is, and how the world's most awesome car is now even more awesome, and will now beat anything ever made! Plus some Phil Miller bumming (who 99% of people won't even have heard of). ...sure it will be a fantastic read though.
  4. More rear downforce means the front end is effectively lighter, so the wheels can turn easier (I guess?!)
  5. As long as the chassis legs aren't bent, you should be able to repair it reasonably cheaply (depending on if he hit anything like the radiator or AC system, or if it was literally just the wheel). Potentially could be a good deal if you can get it for less than £350. Worst case, you would probably be looking at only a few hundred to fix it (unless there's bodywork damage.
  6. Its fake. Period blood does not look like red wine, lol!
  7. Sam's engine bay is nothing like standard lol...it has the aforementioned tacky coloured hoses, and looks like a multicoloured mish-mash! Tufty's S3 was actually the inspiration to do my airbox how I did it, although I still have the bottom in mine, so its like a proper enclosed filter. Luke, I actually haven't Never really had the enthausiasm to do a build thread. When I was doing it originally, nothing I was doing seemed "worthy" enough of a build thread, and its just sort of plodded on from there. Now I'm further into it, I've done shit loads to it...but on a forum, it would be "just another LCR", so seemed kinda pointless doing a write up on a fairly generic car.
  8. That's exactly what I've done. At first glance, you'd never know it had a cone filter. My bay looks totally OEM apart from the TIP. All my hoses are black, I hate cheap looking coloured hoses!
  9. Thats EXACTLY what everybody is talking about (the one on the right, with the cutout).
  10. The exhaust on my A3 was on and off more than a tramps knickers...but yes, you did have a large part to play in some of the fabrication of several incarnations. Mine originally sat below, and I HATED it. I had to cut quite a large chunk of sheet metal from behind the bumper, but it did push up once the hanger on the backbox was bent up. Most people will say go for a rear more so than upgrading the front. A popular setup seems to be a 25mm or 28mm rear, and a 23mm front.
  11. That's exactly what I said. Although I just heated my hanger and bent it up.
  12. Can't you pull it up a bit, and cut the bumper out? I did it on mine, and it looks 100x better. Looks like it actually belongs there, rather than being stuck on as an after thought.
  13. I would hazard a guess its because you are immensely annoying and winding everybody up?
  14. He's been proven that the coldside is inferior by several people, still won't have it though Nice one on the s3 seats though, they will look good!
  15. Your life is what you make of it. If you have a chance to change things, and you don't; then you are an idiot.
  16. £1million isn't even that much in today's terms. Certinally doesn't make you "rich".
  17. Pretty sure you only get monoxide poisoning in gas firess anyway?
  18. A very convincing win then, well done!!!
  19. Well I'll be damned...never knew that Robin! Like you say, I bet they are far stricter though! Greg, what car is it? I had a Revo stage 1 map on my A3 when I had it...it was alright, very punch, but ran out of puff pretty quick, although I believe they have now developed "linear" maps, so the power is a lot more spread out over the rev range.
  20. I watched about 10 seconds of that before I thought "f**k that!". I wouldn't do that in a million years with just those lights! You must have to have a lot of faith in yourself that you 100% know the course! And you're right, there's NO way we'd be allowed to do that here! Shame really
  21. You'll probably find that the 5000k ones need to "bed in" a bit. I always find mine tone down a bit after a bit of use. That looks NOTHING like 5000k...I'd say it was nearer 8000k. The Osram bulbs you have in the first picture are nearer 5000k.
  22. Just be REALLY careful with QR steering wheel bosses; saw a horrendous accident at a VW show 1/4 mile sprint, where the boss wasn't properly clicked in, and the steering wheel came off in the driver's hands.
