Looks like I'll be needing to add a 2nd car pretty sharpish, thought I'd ask in here for some inspiration because really the only specs so far are "will drive for half hour every day" and "around £2000". Basically a runaround. But I'll probably be using it most to leave Hayley with the 'nicer' car, so I don't want to just go down the cheap hatchback route. MX-5 is something that comes straight to mind, but then so does a 5 series estate. So I'm fairly open to ideas. Fire away...

"This was a bit pants, so I put it into a thread about the best stuff on the internet" Don't ever change.

In summary: Some people like some stuff. Some other people like other stuff. EDIT: INB4 some people don't like stuff

What I find best about reading through his post history is the debacle around The National Bike Show 2007. He mentioned if he was running the trials side he would be approaching Danny Mac. Good to see he was ahead of the curve there!

So you've increased the value of yours, and the one you want is on the market? Sounds like you want to be looking at your selling options!

Hayley would have been in some serious shit if we hadn't been in the hospital, considering she was in some pretty serious shit even though we were. No indications there would be complications either, so if we'd chosen home birth I think we'd have regretted it. Definitely not saying that home birthing is wrong, yours obviously went well and our best buddies did too. I'm just personally glad we went for the "be where all the surgeons are, in case surgery is needed" option. I'd rather be safe than comfy. On a lighter note – belated happy birthday to Persephone! Eleanor's race through her first 10 weeks, so I can see how the next 94 would fly by...

This is always my favourite bit. The bit where you have the audacity to tell any of us whether any of our lives are even touching the toilet, let alone down it. Hey Dave: f**k off.

He's seriously harbouring some issues.

Yep, unfortunately "good communication skills" probably includes "being able to read" when it comes to an online social role.

I think I'm going to be collecting my pension by the time this is finished, but it's great to watch.

It's a massive indication of just how bad The Grand Tour was that I enjoyed the new Top Gear so much last night. Glad it's back on track, although plenty to do. They've started putting their own stamp on it, and that's good. Hopefully TGT will improve just as much for season two...

Every year I kid myself that it's because they're running something super new and innovative that'll give them a Brawn-esque start to the season. Every year I'm wrong... They didn't even make the merch interesting enough with the new livery this year

It's a definite yes from me. I agree it looks naked without, and the BGW is completely wrong.

They've never caused me any problems while it's been in the shed.

Nice bike. Take the brakes off then you'll have less people arguing over how to bed them in.

I'd be very tempted by something from the Tesla range. Instant full torque? Yes please. I'll just make vroom noises.

It's clearly not the forum. This line is fine. And so is this one.

Last time we planned that the fireworks went out of date.

The agency world just ended up not being the one I wanted to be in. I ended up in a position where I was just running a team instead of doing things that interest me. That used to frustrate me, so as I approached 30 and had a baby on the way I re-evaluated what I wanted. I'm fortunate enough to be able to use my previous experience to get some really interesting consultancy gigs, so that's what I've been doing. I get to work from home mostly, which is going to be awesome when the baby comes along this month. Kind of reaping some of the rewards of all the hard work you described in the early years.

If you're craving routine, or the ability to plan ahead, I'd suggest doing anything but going self employed.
