Just to clarify my point in the mean time though, I've felt the same sensation in a Mk1 Fiesta at its 'limit' as I have in a V8 Vantage at its 'limit'. Loss of grip feels the same no matter what speed you're doing, in my experience. Again though, I concede that you have way more experience on track, so I know nothing!

I'm with Dan. In the hands of a competent driver, any car can be unbelievably fast. The definition of fast changes depending on the car, and being on the limit seems (in my limited experience) to feel nearly exactly the same regardless of the power or cornering ability of the car. The limit is the limit, at the end of the day.

Not bashing in any way, but why did you carry on watching? I've never really got my head round that. I don't really want to be desensitised, don't go out looking for that sort of stuff, and if I happened upon it it'd be shut pretty quickly.

I've been driving a turbo recently and hate it. To be fair, it's also a diesel 2007 Golf GT, so there's not much going for it but I really don't get on with lag. Aren't there decent ways to make power in an MX-5 without going charged?
