  1. The lack of correction hops makes me smile Nice work (and no footjam whips )
  2. I heard they had atrocious grip because they were made with silicone base rather than carbon?
  3. That reminds me of Michelin Hot S red tyres that people started to run for some reason...I sometimes forget how long ago they came out!
  4. I'm the same as you, I'm death grip on the front brake unless I need to use it, often swapping from death grip mid move. That's riding street though, on natural I tend to cover both brakes as things can take you by surprise
  5. curiosity got the best of me and I bought a rear brake for my comp bike. First thing to notice is they have smaller pistons, this means a few things but firstly it means they WON'T work with normal magura clamps and the ones supplied are for v-brake mounts...you can kinda bodge them on but there's seriously limited adjustment so it's as good as not working. I'm looking to get some custom clamps made as I'm really curious to see how the brake performs, the lever blade is pretty long and I'm confident it will be pretty powerful. The other thing about the smaller pistons is that it means it uses a disc brake lever potentially opening up the use of shimano, magura or any other mineral fluid filled disc brake lever which could be a massive thing! People have wondered if it's possible to use a disc lever on a magura for years and it looks like it might now be possible. Other things to note is that the cylinders have access to the back (rather than a non accessible magura cylinder) opening up the possibility of better servicing and potential mods (adding or removing springs etc). The piston itself is alloy which is also cool (I wonder if a one-piece pad and piston would be possible?). The brake seems like a bargain if fitting became easier, the lever feels slightly cheap and heavy but nothing too bad, the cylinders look great though, here's hoping the seals are decent! I'll post some stuff on my channel as and when it happens so keep an eye out.
  6. Officially the nicest feeling levers I've ever felt, so light to pull!

aaaand Jane's been told to stop working (massage therapist) which is fairly likely to be the end of the studio she works in unless rent can be paid somehow. She's slightly stressed but lives with her mum so no rent needed there which is handy but she does have loans that need paying. She's considering working in an Amazon warehouse but is going to avoid it if she has to. One thing with her is that she's VERY good at studying and being disciplined and last year found a way to earn money that she's really keen on perusing (just need the internet and a phone/computer, no people contact and potential to earn (and lose) a lot of money), this has been a bit of a forced push but she's using this whole situation to study hard and make the leap from wanting to do it, to just doing it...I'm actually excited because if anyone can be successful at it, it's her! I'm lucky in that my job (vlogging) can pretty much carry on as normal and might even get more views with people at home. I'm SO glad I started the vlogs because if I had still relied on shows for income I would be totally screwed right now (like, selling all my stuff and moving back to England screwed) as there's no shows booked for the foreseeable future...right at the start of the season too.

I'm just down at the Winchester waiting for it to all blow over
  10. this government is actually a joke, without announcing an official statement shutting down business no one who is self employed can claim on insurance for lack of work and there’s no mention of any schemes to reimburse any lost wages. Jane is self employed as a massage therapist and works in a clinic with a couple other people who all pay rent, the landlord isn’t giving anyone a break so that still needs paid but obviously no one is booking in with all the fear and advice to stay home. The only way she could survive the next few weeks is by claiming on insurance which will only get paid if the government gives orders to shut. It’s looking quite likely the clinic won’t survive. Boris and his pals can get in the sea
  11. Do people think toilet roll cures the flue? I can’t think of any other reason why people would stockpile it? it’s handy to have but I would consider it a luxury item rather than vital...food and water is vital, toilet roll is not
  12. so cool, loving the parts choice I always loved my 2004 Pure!
  13. speaking of isis bbs, I remember when they came out and it was very exciting!
  14. I also get this to a point, I'll ride spots with people there if I'm doing stuff I know I can do but if I'm trying new things with a high failure rate I do get self conscious if there's people around.
  15. dammit, everyone's going to think I copied Benito when I drop tomorrows MTB trials video!
  16. Flatmate bringing a group of people back to party without warning, had to go sleep in the motorhome, I tidied the flat recently and now it’s an absolute disaster. Not best pleased
  17. The deciding factor for me is choosing the bike that's easiest to swap between from your other bikes. I assume your DJ bike is 26"? I'd definitely be considering the Hex over the Fourplay or Arcade for ease of swapping, it'll feel more "normal" and take less adapting to

How was this nearly ten years ago??
  19. When being artistic I can definitely see the end result I want before I've started, unfortunately I usually can't translate that onto paper with my hands which is really frustrating! Sometimes I'll be in bed and I'll start thinking of bike products I'd like to make or modify and I can picture the products and the modifications pretty clearly, same with video projects where I have to modify things (like cutting a branch) I can visualise that in my head but I think that's likely because I've seen these things before hand which makes visualising them easy in my head. The thing I struggle with and I'm really impressed is something Danny can do is completely imagine a unique line for a video project. For the video "This Is Drop And Roll" he asked me what objects I would like made/arranged. I just couldn't give him an answer! I prefer just randomly arranging boxes/objects and then figuring out how to ride it, like a puzzle. Danny can picture the end result and then build the obstacles to make it happen and I find that really weird. It's like having a completed puzzle and then working backwards, kinda defeats the purpose a little for me. So I guess I don't have too many original thoughts (other than some art stuff) but once I've seen a situation I can picture it very clearly in my head and modify it with new thoughts.
  20. depends what forks you're going to run...steel forks with a tapered steerer are harder to find if you ever went aftermarket plus they're a bit heavier and 1 1/8th is plenty strong in steel. If you want to use alloy, carbon or suspension forks in the future then go with tapered as they're stronger and more common

Great stuff, you two make a great combo
  22. I'm not sure if I've ever seen his riding (sorry isitafox) so can't comment on his skill level, I was talking generally. I'm glad you agree about the childish part though
