  1. f**k it i'm off to game to go get a copy. I love having both consoles. Though the xbox gets FAR more use.
  2. Meh, it was alright. I've got a toy in the pipeline that'll make shots like those much nicer to watch so we'll have to beast that up once i'm moved into the new place this weekend.
  3. I wouldn't say it's impossible, every brum ride i've been on took place on a saturday and i've been like 10-15 times over the years. I reckon i'd be up for something around too, most likely boumsong as well.
  4. Thirded for losing the front end in the rain on a roundabout. Lucky it was a quiet day, usually that road is very busy!
  5. Firstly, a massive well done to everyone behind this video. It looked great, songs were "okay" and the riding spoke for itself but above all it made me want to go out on the bike and have fun! While i think there may have been a slight overuse of the panning footage, i think that a lot more videos need to put some thought into the filming and this should be a bit of a kick up the back side to get people into thinking about it. Too many videos are just the camera in front of the person and then going to the next clip. I went out on sunday and just had a laugh with the camera and the way i was filming and i had a massive amount of fun, as did boumsong (he was being the guinea pig). Secondly, major at all the bickering in this thread. It could only be on trials forum. It's a shame so many people are so narrow minded. Danny rode his bike over obstacles without bailing, that's the entire point behind trials riding. Sure it has other obvious influences from other riding styles but that just makes it more 'well rounded'.
  6. It is cracking software. When i'm not using the HTPC in internet browsing mode it's running XBMC as i've found that it's one of the most stable bits of software for problem free 1080p playback. Didn't realise there was an iplayer add on for it, so i guess i can look at installing a basic linux build with xbmc now and remove windows altogether now.
  7. I love the way you neglect the ones nick mentioned though. £31 and 380g plus a better design. http://www.highonbikes.com/wellgo-mg1-magnesium-alloy-platform-flat-mtb-pedals.html
  8. Got one of those too, prefer the HTPC by far though.
  9. Find a set of stairs and start practising. it'll teach you to go sideways and force you to lean over as you go higher.
  10. My old housemate used his laptop to play everything on. I went for the HTPC option. It's not gaming so you can buy silent fans and run them slowly which makes it nearly inaudible (save for the hard drive). It's running an old graphics card too and the actual power draw is under 150watts under load (1080p vids).
  11. Well i'd always envisaged it as anybody in the british forces, of any religion, being remembered for their death. No matter the underlying causes of war. I did read something about a muslim day of remembrance and (although i can't quite remember it) the day was planned to happen in one of the towns that had the biggest losses of soldiers in the recent war, or something similarly untactful. It's a metaphor to do with dogs biting their owners. The difference is you aren't (or at least i hope you aren't) going round in demonstrations stating that british soldiers need to die. The "them" i'm referring to are the particular people involved in that demonstration. My earlier quip about benefits etc was a dig at the stereotyping done by the daily mail, which i hoped was symbolised by me calling it the daily fail.
  12. Pretty much, hence the facepalm picture I guess it just kind of irritated me when you said i was getting on a high horse about it rather than doing anything. I think either way could do it, but it's motivating people to make their voices heard that's the problem. At the end of the day the end goal is the same, we need to be more tolerant of each other and stop resorting to violence and war. I don't care who's method is better, so long as one works.
  13. The implication was that your posts seem to convey a more hostile approach, where as i think that there is a different way to go about it. Your analogy is slightly inaccurate, It's more like telling the wright brothers that flight is possible, but proposing a different craft design.
  14. These people went to war and lost their lives, they should be remembered for that. That's what i've always been led to believe remembrance day is all about. That they gave the ultimate sacrifice. I never said deny all protesting, but aggressive protesting. Holding signs citing that people should die should not be tolerated, regardless of who does it. The biting the hand that feeds them comment refers to them living in britain, protesting about british soldiers needing to die. If they have a problem with what is being done they should be taking it up in a respectful and dignified manner.
  15. Having never met me that's again, mightily presumptuous. However, you seem to think your own method is the only acceptable one. Fighting aggression with more aggression will only ever lead to hatred. As a citizen of this country i feel it is my responsibility and i'd be inclined to believe i've done more about it than you.
  16. Principally, no. Means, yes. What are you expecting of me then aside from voicing my opinion? Going back in time and travelling 100 odd miles to go and tell them in person or act appropriately now the issue has been brought to the attention of everyone who wasn't in the area at the time?
  17. Walking up to a bunch of extremists burning flags and shouting for people to die would be fairly daunting to most people and would most likely lead to a situation where people get hurt. Hardly a responsible approach is it? What should be done is inform your local council on your views or even the relevant council for the area in which it happened. Not going to guarantee a response but if enough people do it, then it should and it's far more sensible than what you're proposing. Also, kinda presumptuous to tell me i should get off my high horse about it if i'm not going to do anything before asking if i actually had?
  18. That it's so currently feasible that you might as well include an app to instantly transport you to each location to save you walking between them. I like the idea of a video based game of 'horse' spread over a map and voted by other users. That certainly wouldn't be too out of the question for current tech to produce.
  19. I wouldn't even try to prove it through physics, common sense should be over-riding that need well before opening the textbooks.
  20. I'm personally under the belief of having some respect for the people in the country you're living in. People who give their lives in the name of freedom should be respected, allowing such a disgrace to happen on this day is absolutely shameful. This country is far too Politically Correct and now people expect it. When they put forward planning for this protest they should have declined it and if no planning was involved the police should have disbanded them due to disturbing the peace, quite literally. I saw a mum get arrested in loughborough the other day for shouting at her kid then shouting at the police officers for interfering. If that's disturbing the peace then how the hell is burning poppies and shouting for soldiers to die through megaphones not? Especially given that they did it through a nationwide act of silence in remembrance of the fallen. I blame the government and councils for not taking a firmer stand on these sort of things. Aggressive demonstrations intended to cause anger should not be permitted, regardless of who is involved. Someone should explain to them the meaning of the phrase "don't bite the hand that feeds you", though if the daily fail are involved it would probably be "don't bite the hand that feeds you, homes you, gives you £30,000+ a year for being a jobless immigrant and allows you to get away with murder".
  21. You've only got three options. The centre of the star nut was spinning round as you tried to undo the bolt. The head of the bolt snapped off. You were hallucinating and only thought the bolt was turning when in fact it was staying still.
  22. In the screen grab the southend, great britain shot is actually loughborough, great britain.
  23. Yeah, it bolts onto standard IS mounts through those holes that are empty in the image. Like so..... The avids (and any other disc using that design) are basically just the caliper with an adapter to fit your forks, there's an adapter for any fork mount for that brake so it will fit no matter what you've got so long as you have the right adapter mount. You don't need the washers like other brakes because you loosen the two bolts that clamp the calliper to the adapter and then pull the brake. This centralises the calliper to your rotor and then you just tighten it up and release the lever, negating the need for washers. Simples! The performance from that particular brake on the other hand....
